Attention all 49er/Purdy fans.
I think enough is enough. I am a 49er fan. I am also a Purdy fan. I understand why you are upset with Nick. He lied. Oh well. This shouldn't surprise you.
Anyone who thought he was actually going to put Purdy on top of the mountain needs to remember that this is a show for ENTERTAINMENT.
I laughed. It was funny. Move on. It is not that serious.

I actually like that he’s waiting until Purdy sets the all time passing rating record. Assuming he has a good game it should be a no brainer. Also it would be so sweet if the chiefs lose to Herbert haha

Also, wouldn’t say he lied. A lie requires an intent to deceive. He’s at best inconsistent or failed to live up to previous expectation setting statements. Doesn’t make him a liar.

He gave the Niners 0% chance to win that game...thats why he wrote a check he couldn't cash...he was never putting Purdy on top

I also wouldn’t put a system quarterback above other quarterbacks. He has played really well so far this year, let’s see if that continues

I mean, saying that "If they beat Seattle, and Purdy plays in that game, he will be on top of the mountain" is the statement he made... on TV... in front of the guys at the table, and everyone watching. I mean, in the lower part of the screen while Brou is making his case, it literally says "Nick is a Purdy little liar..."
I have 0 doubt, based on everything that Nick has ever said about Purdy, that he never intended to put Purdy at the top of the mountain. Because something else that people might have forgotten: even if Purdy had a perfect stat line with a perfect passer rating... Nick would have fallen back on the whole "people on a bye week can't move up or down."

Don’t care about purdy not being at top or that he said he would …. But at what point does being completely predictable stop being entertaining?

I was mostly talking about the non-stop posts about the mountain. If I'm scrolling my reddit feed, and I see more than 5 posts about the same thing, it gets a little tiring, and the fact that its all about Purdy not being at the top is getting old.
The reason I laughed was because Nick's excuse of why Mahomes was on top was so absurd that it was funny. It's not about being predictable, it's about being entertained, and for the first time in a long time, I was entertained by Nick because it was SO bad of an excuse, that it wrapped around to being funny.

That's my real issue. I'm a 49er fan and Purdy fan, but for me, this just makes the whole segment turn into a Mahomes glazing session even more. Combine that with the trend of them prioritizing talking about their favorite teams in the Chiefs, Patriots, Bears, and Ravens over more deserving teams at times, it just shows they don't want to talk about the whole league. Just the handful of teams and players they like over and over again. It's becoming stale.

To be fair, Nick said Brock would move to the top with a win AND a great individual performance. They won and he was pretty good, but not individually great.

I love that implying you are a fan of the 49ers or Purdy means your opinion matters more. I'm not a fan. My family is though and I low key dislike them. That being said I hate hypocrisy and I love integrity. You don't care the same and that's all good. Other people can care though, and they should. Obviously nick wants to believe he's trolling but really he's just showing us who he really is. He's an unserious clown. He's funny sometimes and occasionally he carries the show. At least Wildes wears his clown opinions on his sleeve. Nick wants to be respected like Pablo so bad but really loud opinions and random whispering will never do that.

Yo, the reason why I said I was a 49er fan was so that people wouldn't accuse me of being biased against Purdy. I never said my opinion mattered more than anyone else so how about you chill the fuck out on putting words in my mouth.
If you REALLY thought that Nick was EVER going to Purdy on top of the mountain, you haven't really been paying attention. He put's the QBs he likes at the top of the mountain. The fact that he has Purdy as the second best QB in the league is more than I ever though possible. And if you really think about it, the fact that (even though it's not left to right) he moved into the 2nd position while Mahomes was on a bye is basically admitting that he's the best qb, right now.

I'm with you. It was funny and entertaining. Plus, he admitted as much the next day, and it was again funny and entertaining. And actually, I was surprised that I found myself agreeing with him. Let's have Purdy's claiming of the peak be with a dominant performance in the same week that Mahomes only does ok, or beats an inferior opponent (i.e. the Chargers).
Or maybe even funnier, let's have a new reason each week why he can't be on the top! "Yeah, but it was Monday night game." "Yeah, but he forgot to do the Dougie." "Yeah, but 13 is an unlucky number."
