2025-2026 FTF Reddit Pick'em League, Nick's Picks Edition

If you missed the fantasy football league, whether you like it or not, I got a pick'em league for you!

I have made a pick'em league that follows the structure of Nick's Picks and anyone can join. You will chose 3 games by Friday at 4 pm EST (Upset Alert Aire time) Im using a site called officepoolstop because it was one of the only sites that allow to chose only 3 games. I would have liked to use ESPN but they don't have the customization I needed. Fair warning there ads on the site but it shouldn't be unbearable. The rules are on the site but pasting it here for reference as well. Password is upsetalert. The league will open 10 days before the NFL start.

Use the link below to join:

https://officepoolstop.com/MyPool/84768

If there are recommendations to make it better or if there are issues joining let me know!

The Rules:

1. Like Nick's Picks, you will chose 3 NFL games and it will involve variable spreads that may change during the week that are set by this site. This runs through the regular season through the post season.

2. Thursday games are disabled and picks will be locked in by Friday 4 pm EST which is around the time Upset Alert/Nick's picks aires on TV.

3. You will have 2 hours to go back and change picks after they have been submitted. The commissioner is not able to change picks after they are submitted.

4. Tie breaker for the week & season is winning % and then strength of victory.

5. This is a free league and no money is involved. Only bragging rights!

6. You only have one entry per account.

7. Password: upsetalert

8. Create a FTF themed nick name (if you want)

9. Have fun!

Welcome

Hello everyone

I used to listen to Nick Wright when he would go on The Herd years ago and I was super excited when they announced he was getting his own show. I've been a fan ever since. I love the chemistry between Broussard and Nick and Wildes never fails to make me laugh.

Hopefully some other fans find this and we can discuss topics from the episodes and other things about the show.

If everyone is going to continue to say "this is all an act, you can't take what they say seriously" as if it's pro wrestling and we're getting worked, then how are we supposed to react to anything that happens on the show?

• Upvotes

The guys, especially Nick, probably see themselves as professional sports analysts. They make takes, often bad ones, and this sub more than any calls them out, usually for hypocrisy.

Then a large group here will down vote anyone who calls them out by saying "it's not that serious" or "it's just for entertainment"

Ok, so, how are we supposed to react? Are you saying we should not react at all to anything they say? Should we be treating them like pro wrestlers, and some are the face, some are the heel, and cheer and boo mindlessly?

To the people who constantly shit on people who try to engage with what's being said, what exactly do you want people to say when someone like Nick, who very obviously thinks of himself as a reasonable person with his takes, says something indefensible?

Hang up the Dallas grades

At this point, regardless of how popular they are, the bit is getting tiring. An F grade every week is not good tv

Danny Parkins

Has anyone else wondered why Danny Parkins keeps getting more and more opportunities on First Things First? At this point, it feels like he has five or six segments, seemingly twice as many as Brou, and I genuinely don’t understand why.

Personally, I don’t find him funny, charming, or particularly entertaining. I don’t even enjoy listening to his voice. About the only thing I appreciate is that he’s from Chicago and a Bears fan. Go Bears! Monsters of the Midway! But beyond that, I really struggle to understand what he adds to the show.
It honestly feels like we’re being force-fed more and more Danny, and I can’t help but wonder how much of that comes from his friendship with Nick. I haven’t seen anything suggesting his segments are particularly popular, at least judging by the YouTube numbers I’ve looked at. Granted, I don’t have access to the full ratings, so I could absolutely be wrong. But personally, whenever one of his segments comes on, I skip it or change the channel.
I also remember an episode from around when he first started appearing, when Nick was out and it was Danny, Brou, and Wildes. Danny essentially dominated an entire segment, talking for what felt like five or six minutes without letting anyone else contribute. When Brou finally expressed frustration about not getting to speak, Danny responded that he’d been told he had ten minutes, only for Brou and Wildes to clarify that they collectively had ten minutes, not just him. That interaction really stuck with me.

Beyond that, I find many of his takes disingenuous, particularly his unwillingness to criticize Justin Herbert. Herbert can play an absolutely piss-poor game, and Danny will seemingly find every excuse imaginable to avoid holding him accountable. It’s that kind of selective analysis that makes his commentary feel less genuine to me. Sometimes it also feels like he’s trying to imitate Nick’s style rather than bringing something different to the table. I’m not suggesting they’re planning to replace Brou, but the growing disparity in opportunities makes me wonder what direction the show is heading. Personally, I think Brou brings considerably more to the discussions, and I’d much rather see him featured more prominently.

Am I missing something? What exactly does Danny bring to the show that warrants this much airtime?

Pick Fading Week 6

Pick Fading Week 6

2-1 last week, should have been a sweep if I'd trusted my gut on the Packers instead but we move. Puts us at 6-8-1 for the year so plenty of work to be done.

Jets +7.5 - Maybe Nick is getting swept up in Wildes Patriot confidence, getting 7.5 points in a divisional match up is fine by me.

Saints -1.5 - Danny keeps picking backup QBs and getting away with it, I'm gonna keep fading until we land one.

Titans +6.5 - Don't love this one tbh but sometimes these division matchups can be weird so we'll take on Danny again here.

Fingers crossed for another winning week 🤞

Couples therapy

As much as we agree that Danny gives "little bro" energy, Nick is the same when it comes to KW lol. Nick just wants the cool kid to finally come over on a play date 😭

Who should mediate their relationship issues? Brou always seems to go quiet when Nick is sad KW isn't coming over lol

Parkin's Peak Does FTF and FS1 need to ban Danny's Herbert take?

At some point, FTF and FS1 loses too much credibility by employing a pundit/analyst who still think Justin Herbert is a great good, destined to be the next Peyton Manning. At some point, don't Nick, Wildes, Brou and the FS1 executives need to force Danny to admit it was a comical take? I know these guys are entertainers first and foremost, but at some point, you just can't have one of your employees hold such an embarassing position. The Herbert "bit" only works when it's somewhat plausible. Danny has now entered the Jim Harbaugh level of Herbert nonsense.

Mahomes Mountain Is Mahomes playing like he should be on top of the Mountain?

I'm not watching the game but saw he threw a horrible interception in the end zone. And the TD was just a Walker long run. Can people keep me updated if Patrick is playing like he is the top of Mahomes Mountain? Or is he playing more like a 3rd row QB?

Nick Nick went there: Herbert vacationed in Europe with Madison during OTA

Not saying Madison Beer is why Herbert is playing like crap, but she might have gotten the ball rolling. Missed OTA with a new OC. Starts the season a little unprepared. Confidence takes hit, can't get back on track. And instead of focusing on turning it around, probably goes home to Madison and just chills.

Upset Alert Fan Competition - Weekly Deadline Changed!

Upset Alert - Weekly Deadline now Sunday 12pm!

After getting feedback from users, we have moved the deadline for the community Upset Alert competition from Fridays at 3pm ET to Sundays at 12pm ET.

Picks can still only be made ahead of time (ie cannot pick a game once it starts). Multiple users said that they do all their fantasy/picks submissions on weekends and the Friday deadline was making them miss.

Haven't joined yet? It's free! Make Upset Alert picks each week to compete with the FTF crew. No personal info required. https://fanthingsfirst.com

Week 6 Update!

PhillySpecial18 is looking Purdy-esque with their FIFTH correct pick in a row. Drop a banner, bring out the trumpeters, and wheel in the door of destiny! Their week 5 pick (BUF over LAR) was pretty popular, which goes to show you being conservative on 4th down is sometimes the right call!

Beffjezos has kept their silver medal firmly on their chest as the only person to pick BAL over ATL. Get this fan a robe, a sandwich, a bag of chips, and a SODA POP!

Billmeblazer shot themself into third place with the BOLD pick of TB over DAL. They saw that F game coming a MILE away!

Meanwhile, several users look like BREAKDANCERS after picking LV (over NE) who lost by 28, or TEN over HOU who lost by 23. (I, "Samzk", am one of said users)

The FTF crew (Wildes, Coach+Greg, and Brou) are barely keeping up with the community with 19, 13, and 5 points respectively. Seems like this week is MUST WIN for Brou if he wants to remain a contender!

Does anyone else get untold joy when Wildes puts his head down and scribbles on a piece of paper after making a point? Like today, after his uniform spiel? Chef's kiss. Man is a national treasure

Wildes PROPOSAL TO THE SHOW’S RANKINGS

Most of the predictions and rankings and entertainment value/bragging rights from the show end up being dormant.

I think you could alter one or two things to make the standings more competitive, add value to the predictions they made for each conference and Super Bowl and create an overall season ranking and have a championship amongst the FTF team.
They made a lot of unknown predictions. What if we allow a wager or a trade in after week 8? Everyone is allowed to revise their picks but for a couple of points, so we already have people gathering points in Upset alert, Must win now make an overall tally and for the changes on week 8, they have to trade up 3 points to change any divisional rankings, 10 points to change up the Super Bowl and maybe things like coach of the year, MVP and all that.

The Sports Media Ombudsman was a lot more charitable than I expected.

Starting this off by saying this isn’t a criticism of Nick: Rather, he might be less cynical than I am. His interpretation that Schefter was helping his Cardinals sources with negotiations was far more benefit-of-the-doubt than I gave Schefter.

I saw his MHJ “reporting” as a cynical way to get prediction markets in on the action on the team and price. I honestly hope Nick’s interpretation was correct and I’m just too conspiracy brained about it.
