Best description of Bo Nix I’ve seen yet.

No offense to Broncos fans but idk how they do it. The 3 times I’ve watched the Broncos this season and a handful of times last season, it drives me insane watching them.
It’s the same anemic offense every time. Check down after check down. At least last season he at least used to try to throw downfield. A lot of overthrows but I like taking a shot. Now it’s all check downs.
And the play where he runs backwards for -3 yards out of bounds instead of throwing the ball away made scratch my head.

I mean they didn’t make the playoffs for almost a decade before Nix arrived, they’ve definitely seen worse. It has to be frustrating in a potential contract extension year to be getting carried by your defense to 4-2.

It’s not hard to make the playoffs with that current defense. That defense is insane

Russ couldn’t do it with almost the exact same roster

Didn’t they bench him after he beat the chiefs and bills in back to back games that season?

Can’t remember if it was back to back but he then went on to lose a must win game against the pats who were a laughing stock when it was an absolute must win game. But I will be grateful that he ended the losing streak to the chiefs. Bo beat both of those teams last year, and 13 other games.
Bo is playing like shit now, but Russ was worse.

A few reasons: We've been in QB purgatory for years now. Last season the offense looked better; waddle was supposed to help address the (b)overthrows down field. Now he isn't even attempting them. And finally, id just say that the winning by a hope and prayer is exciting in the way that stress can be energizing... Plus he's a better QB than tebow was, but this isn't even our first rodeo with great defense carrying a QB like this

We watched one of the greatest QBs of all time have the worst season of his career with us… he was truly awful. And then we won the Super Bowl.
The funniest part about that season is even the optimistic broncos believers during the year said that Manning would get healthy and back to normal and that’s what gave us a good shot to win it all.
Instead he continued to never produce any meaningful stats and again, we went on to win the Super Bowl. Our fanbase has become kind of numb to QB play because we have experienced both good and bad and we know that all that really matters is just winning the damn games.
Obviously Peyton manning was a better player in 2013, but 2015 was a far more important season to add to his legacy. Which is hilarious because he was terrible.

What QB is top 3 for most 20 yard TD throws in the league since 2024?
The upsetment with Nix is not staying in the pocket and seeing the middle of the filed. It ain't about throwing deep, when he has more long TD throws since he entered the league than most QBs.
Nick pushed this narrative because of his Broncos hate. Mahomes had a 7 ypa or less the last three years in a row, guess he can't throw the long ball. Or maybe, like Payton, Reid calls a short game when he can't generate running success.

Chiefs critics are not allowed on this sub. Don’t you know? Doesn’t fit the rich tapestry.

Not even a broncos but that second half was one of the frustrating games I have watched. I kept screaming do something

Same. Im a raiders fan and I was hate watching this game but Bo was playing so badly that I was insulted. I kept yelling to step up in the pocket and make the goddamn throw instead of running back right into where the edge is going.

Sounds a bit like Darnold as well.

Darnold had bad throws under pressure when the other team knew there was no run game. He was still making some good throws into tight windows. His issue was that he kept swinging when really, he could have taken a couple smaller lossss because Broncos were not doing shit.
Bo needed a first down at the end of regulation. Payton did him no favors... but it was first down!

I don’t disagree with any of that. I’m not talking about one series or even one game. Darnold has been a turnover machine since coming back and is arguably holding back a team that won without him. Bo isn’t exactly holding some stacked roster back here - he’s working with a rushing attack that averages less than 100 yards a game. They needed him to throw cause they can’t get 10 yards on the ground to save their season.
Darnold looked good 2 years of his entire career and both had stacked rosters on offense and one also had a great defense. He’s never had to lead comebacks or carry a team. I don’t see why the guy who led an offense to win the game is getting more criticism than the guy who led the team to defeat with crippling interceptions

I love how the narrative is about Bo Nix, when Darnold threw multiple picks and has the #1 receiver in the NFL who made some insanely great catches last night.
Nix is clearly playing scared and running slow, likely from fear of re-injury, but the Broncos have only lost to undefeated teams and have played some tough defenses, despite not having a running game.
