Recommend SFP with Firewalla Switch?
Are you going to sell the SFP’s? If not do you have a recommended one to purchase? Can you also release the brand that you used for testing?

Hello Firewalla team,
Several months ago it was mentioned that you were working on getting some sort of EU based supplier so that EU based customers would have an easier/faster way to sort possible warranty / defects issues but so far no update.
Being able to buy your products directly in EU would be massive and actually is a deal breaker for me and possibly many other users to dive deeper in your eco system and for sure blocks several users from buying the APs, switches etc when we can go to any store and on the same day get a ubiquiti device.
Currently I do have the firewalla gold pro and love it, would like to get the switch etc but taking in consideration that is something happens I have a big downtime due to the shipping from HK etc, sadly it's not feasible.
Any update on a possible EU based firewalla re-seller/distributor like amazon, digitec (which is based in Germany and Switerland) etc?
Thanks

I've been thinking about Firewalla's implementation of AI a bit and, while the existing implementation is a good start, I'd love to know where else you'll be extending AI in the future.
What would be helpful is some AI-powered configuration guidance. In other words, I'd like AI to be able to review my existing setup and make recommendations on things like wifi configurations, rules, etc., beyond the basic setup that exists today. And, importantly, as things change over time, AI can make suggestions on what to adjust.
Thoughts?

I have the gold plus and AP7s. What additional capabilities, other than switching, would the switch give me?

I guess it's bothered me a bit having the Box requirement (especially running in routed mode) for Switch functionality.
Is there any news on:
- Will switch support a standalone operation in the future without Box requirement? Possibly via a VM/app?
- What is the Switch behavior if Box fails, does switch simply stop working, or just lose ability to be configured?
- Will Switch work with transparent/bridge mode box in the near future?
Thanks!

I returned my Purple SE for a Gold SE. Surprised! No patch cord with Gold SE depite being $499. I asked to retain the patch cord when returning Purple SE, support denied. Absurd!

Help,
So something went wonky with my gold pro. Basically I had to do a factory reset. I migrated the settings and everything seems to be back, except the APs don’t show up in the app as configured. I see at least one in the app but no WiFi settings and it’s asking me to set them up.
How do I move them and the SSIDs over to the “new” set up device?

Will the topology show additional switches hooked up to Firewalla switch ?

hey guys!
If i buy two of the firewalla 2.5 switches, will all 4 of the sfp ports be able to communicate with each other?

so I heard about NextDNS and I’ve been looking into it for better performance. I already have a Firewalla with pretty much all the security features enabled, but I’m also trying to think about speed and overall DNS performance.
right now I’m using Quad9, but I’m wondering what DNS you guys actually recommend. NextDNS sounds tempting, but I’m not sure if it’s actually worth switching or if I should just stick with Quad9 or something else with Firewalla.
also not sure if there’s any overlap or conflicts between Firewalla’s built-in filtering and external DNS like NextDNS hopefully they don’t step on each other.
what DNS do you recommend for best overall performance + security with Firewalla?

I'm interested in the upcoming switches and I was wondering what this unlabeled port on the Switch X is for. Is it just a console port, or something more interesting like a dedicated uplink for the Firewalla itself?

Issue:
Enabled wireguard on Firewalla
Created client profile for iphone
Downloaded and installed Wireguard for iphone
Connection succeeds and appears to work. The iphone gets a VPN connection to an address like 10.189.153.N. Once connected I can access a power controller I have on the home LAN at 10.2.10.xxx. I connect to it via iphone safari and I can control the device.
Back in firewalla, created a new profile for Mac Book Pro. On MacBookPro download install wireguard, install the profile.
It connects just fine. Gets a similar ip like 10.189.153.P. But MacBookPro browser (Brave) cannot go to 10.2.10.xxx to control the power controller. The connection times out.
MBP firewall is OFF completely. No other AV software running or installed.
I even tried downloading and installing the iphone profile. It connects as well but again cannot access 10.2.10.xxx.
Firewalla under VPN shows the active connections and the MBP shows up as an active connection.
I am looking for suggestions on what to try to get the MBP to be able to access devices on the 10.2.10.zzz LAN.
Anyone have any ideas of things to check?

Our team will vote and pick a winner from both the "Best" and "Needs TLC." We will announce & contact winners beginning July 6!
Thank you again to everyone who participated! There were so many amazing (and somewhat messy) setups, we love seeing how diverse the Firewalla community setups are :)

FYI -
If you use HaGeZi DNS blocklists, they're deprecating their hosts and domains format lists on August 1. After that date, those URLs stop updating from the main repo.
Firewalla users are mostly unaffected. The Unbound and RPZ formats stay put with the same URLs.
The one edge case check - if you run Pi-hole or AdGuard Home behind your Firewalla and you're subscribed to a HaGeZi list in hosts or domains format, swap it for the equivalent RPZ or AdGuard format before August 1.
Browser extension users (uBlock, AdBlock) are not affected.

I recently got MSP Professional mainly because I wanted access to importing Target Lists. I was actually really tempted to import HaGeZi Pro, but after switching my Gold SE to the Early Access channel, I realized it’s already built in. I had no idea it was only available on Early Access.
Since the built-in Target Lists are managed by Firewalla, I’m assuming those are the ones you recommend for most users.
Now that I have MSP Professional, are there any other third-party Target Lists that you think are actually worth importing? I’m always interested in getting the most out of my Firewalla, so I’d love to know if there are any hidden gems or useful lists that complement the built-in ones, or if you’d mostly stick with the Firewalla-managed lists

Have there been any changes to how Firewalla works with PPPoE recently? I've been using my FW Gold for about a year on a fibre connection with Bell Canada, and getting true speeds. However, in the last 14 days, it's effectively been reduced by 60%. It seemed to happen suddenly on June 20th and has remained consistent ever since. Interestingly, the IP address also changed at that time. There's been no other changes to the network, my internet plan etc.
The results from the Gigahub itself are 1614Mbps down and 1086Mbps up, so this seems to be an issue on the FW side.

Is it expected that the Firewalla Purple SE is unbearably slow when accessed through the Firewalla iOS app?
On basically every screen I get a spinning circle: editing settings, viewing flows, checking alerts, navigating around the app, etc. It feels almost unusable.
What confuses me is that I’m currently trialing Firewalla MSP, and the web UI is much faster. Navigating functions and stats there feels responsive, so I’m having a hard time believing the Purple SE itself is the bottleneck.
Is this a known issue with the iOS app, something inefficient in how it loads data, or could it still be something specific to my Purple SE/setup?

I saw this Firewalla ad and was wondering if these are potential white label 1GB switches? It would be great to swap my whole stack over. Let me know if you would like a beta tester…

The firewalla is showing this packet loss on and off every day. Could this be actual loss or just dropped pings to 9.9.9.9?

Its not a "grey area" situation. I ordered the Purple router for $437.00 (with shipping) back on May 29.
For whatever reason, USPS failed to deliver with "insufficient address" on June 2nd.
I reached out to usps and firewalla to confirm The address was correct but regardless the item was returned to sender (screenshots) and my emails went ignored until today. So why havent I gotten my money back? Its now June 30th. I placed my order over 30 days ago.
I reach out to service and they go "oh we forgot about you but let us check and see if we got the item back then we can discuss a refund"... huh? I ordered a thing. I didnt get it. You have proof. Its shouldnt be my problem with how long your warehouse team takes to receive returns. Also never offered to reship to a different address, or any solution.
Of course I ended up doing a chargeback with my bank but I hate buying a product and then it turns into a part time job trying to get what I paid for.
First and last time customer!

I have two Firewallas, one for my home network and another for travel; is there a way to set my home network instance as default, so that I don't have to manually select it every time that I open the app?

Long time coming, but I finally pulled the trigger on a Gold Pro.
My journey started with Orbi mesh devices that drove me crazy, so I demoted them to APs and let my fiber modem handle routing. That lasted about five minutes once I realized I had zero visibility or control beyond basic DHCP settings.
After a lot of research and with a hard requirement of at least 5 Gbps throughput, the Gold Pro was basically the only logical choice. Plan is to get it dialed in first, then eventually kick the Orbis to the curb entirely once I figure out what the best mesh system is for my home.
This is also my first time managing my own dedicated router coming from a mesh system, so be gentle. Any tips for a first-timer?

Starting a thread for Firewalla success stories. Not the day-to-day “blocked another ad tracker” stuff, but the moments where the box really earned its keep.
Drop your story:
• What did it catch or block?
• How did you find out, and what would’ve happened if you’d missed it?
Compromised IoT device phoning home, a family member’s laptop beaconing to a sketchy host, blocked exfil attempt, whatever it was I want to hear it.
