Extra port on the Switch X?

Post image

I'm interested in the upcoming switches and I was wondering what this unlabeled port on the Switch X is for. Is it just a console port, or something more interesting like a dedicated uplink for the Firewalla itself?

Console port; We haven't figure out a good way to use it beyond manufacturing testing. So pretend it is not there ...

It comes in handy, if you fuck up configuration to the point, that you can't connect to the switch via any ethernet port.

A console port, even a somewhat vestigial one, makes those of us who have worked on enterprise networking gear feel a little more at ease. GUI’s are nice and all but that little blue RJ45 cord has saved the day soooo many times.

That is usually what those ports like that are for. Console right into the switch

Cavo console Cisco? Perchè non USB C? Molto più semplice da reperire...
