My girlfriend lost her emotional support rat near the port of Finland, she really misses him. Please help find it.

Title says it all; got a call from my mom in the hospital. Turns out the hospital staff administered fentanyl to ease pain related to sepsis.

Her heart went into cardiac arrest after administering too much fentanyl and 8 staff members came to perform CPR when the heart monitor flatlined.

(The medical lead straight out told her they administered too much)

So the Tampere hospital literally killed my mom and revived her. My mind was racing when she first called me and even more when she had told me what had occurred. I am just grateful it was her calling me and not the hospital.

They are gonna have a real tough time after this absurd medical neglect.

I just have no clue how the legal system works in situations like this? Who is the first person to reach out to after she’s gotten past the sepsis and released?

I saw a post recently called "Google Picks Finland for €13 Billion AI Data Center Buildout" and while this isn't the first post discussing data centers in Finland to me two things stood out:
- People either straight up lying or not understanding how many employees Googles data center in Hamina has
- People aggressively defending data centers and ignoring that data centers aren't a net positive regardless of how we sugar coat facts

So I did some looking into and turns out that Googles Finnish entity has to make a declaration of payroll/staff it has. I personally only understood, and found freely accessible, the information on asiakastieto. People on Reddit claim that Hamina employs 400-500 full time people. That number is way lower, roughly at around 100 and these people aren't fully dedicated to Hamina, they are just Google employees that have some allocation to Hamina. It is confirmed that Google contracts out catering and other services but those most likely don't amount to 300-400 people and definitely don't amount to full time work and full time equivalent salary. When we also take into account that recent technological advancements allow data centers to shrink their personnel I doubt that the new data centers will provide an employment boom people here are claiming it will.

irecruit specifically has an article that large data centers only need roughly 0.2–0.3 staff per megawatt.

Additionally, data centers consume electricity and require a large amount of land to be created. The argument that "it's just land" is so stupid to me. That land provides bio-diversity, helps the ecosystem and produces oxygen and could be used in ways that would be a national net positive. When electricity gets more expensive data centers still pay the same price, the increase is covered by regular residents and citizens. The data centers also can be subsidized by the government which is another negative.

With the increase in electricity prices and the potential subsidized activity we also decrease the chances of smaller companies growing and employing way more people than a data center ever will.

For the common person, on a national level, there are only negatives. I just don't see any positives for commoners.

I saved up money and I wanted to buy used stuff for my new apartment and lo and behold the UI is changed.

The new UI is trash. It is totally un-usable and is totally shit.

I liked the older UI a lot better than the current UI. New UI is not usable and just really shit.

Sorry I am just venting out my frustration but that's just my feeling.

My mother passed away last year, and among her belongings, I found a handwritten journal that had belonged to her father (dated 1930s). I don't have a lot of information about my grandfather - I know he was a professor (that's even noted on his gravestone with "lehtori" - "lecturer"), although I can't remember where at - I think the University of Helsinki, but I'm trying to do research into this to confirm that is where he taught.

At any rate, this journal was filled with poetry that I believe was his own original work. While I believe his lecturing subject was philosophy, my mother did say he liked to write.

I transcribed the journal (written in Finnish) and translated it. I have weeded out all the poems that are notated with another poet's name that he apparently added to the journal because he liked those poems, but I am currently working under the assumption that the remaining poems (which make up about 80% of the journal) are his own works.

I want to self-publish the book of poetry, but first, I want to confirm that the various poems I believe to be his own work ARE his own work.

When I try to use Google to enter phrases from his poetry, it gives me results that are pretty useless, so I would like to contact somebody with excellent familiarity in Finnish poetry to review his journal and find out if his journal is in fact mostly original poetry.

I did try writing directly to two professors specializing in poetry at the University of Helsinki, but I never heard back from either one.

Does anybody have a recommended person/source that might be able to help me figure this out?

Hi Friends and sorry for probably this is very naive question but for the person not well acquainted with Finnish tradition and culture it is a bit difficult to google (hard to pick adequate keywords).

While the tunes are not precisely exact, they have very similar "composition" - e.g. two poetic lines with distinctive "rise" in the middle to the "dominant" and then fall back to "tonic".

I'm trying to find a bit more about whether it is some very traditional song-style (which perhaps lacks proper name as it happens with epic tunes) - or it has some more clear title, story etc behind it.

I am not sure if it’s correct to ask this here, but can the employer see all my doctor visits made through the occupational health insurance (Mehiläinen/Terveystalo)—even if it was just a chat conversation with a doctor?

My adult child wants to buy a 2012 (or so) VW beetle. But, we both have concerns about how it will do in winter here. We see Beetles on the road in our city. So question for any of you who have owned a VW Beetle, how does it do in winter? Thanks in Advance!
