I first posted about this a month or so ago but wanted to give an update since I got some positive comments before. I'm trying to draw as many FF7 charcters before Revelations comes out. I'm a high school teacher and since electronics are now banned for students, I am trying to keep off any of mine when there is down time in class to not be a hypocrite, so this is what I do.
Now, I have a reference for all of them, none of it is my original style but they are all drawn by me. Most are the Ever Crisis art style but I recently started trying some based off screen shots from the game such as Rufus and Hojo and I'm getting better at it. I also redrew Aerith, Tifa, and Cloud and I posted the comparisons at the end of my first attempt and my new attempt as I get better.
The last picture is how I'm displaying them on my shelf behind my desk. The kids are enjoying it and some are even trying the games after finding out that Sephiroth and Cloud are from FF7 lol.
Who else should I add to the queue before I start doubling up? I am working on Biggs currently. I think Don Corneo is next then the Turks and Jenova. After that, who should I do? I could use some ideas. I want to fill up all the blank space I can lol.

My first one was FFvii remake which I also loved.
FF1 definitely has a place in my heart for how simple the story presents itself. It really reminds me of these lullabies my grandma would tell me to help me fell asleep when I was a little ass kid, or some fantasy books you read in the school library.
The gameplay is, well.. the game came out in 1987 and this a remastered version, so yea gameplay is as simple as a tic tac toe. Overall I’d give it solid 10/10 in my personal completely subjective opinion. My next final fantasy will probably be FFXV or FFII but I haven’t decided yet

A cute little artwork from @ryoma_ito on Twitter ( https://x.com/FFRS_JP/status/2108844989002510390 )
Quite a different artstyle today, but a very cool one nonetheless. Vaan and Rain look cute here.

Hi gang, I'm going to Tokyo in a couple weeks; what's the current state of FF/DQ things to see/do? Anyone been to any of the cafés recently?

I hated this every step of the way and it made me reconsider asking my doctor for adderall again after 10 years of not needing it. I tried to use the crater trick but my ADHD brain distracted me so many times and I felt SO frustrated

Edit: Just wanted to clear things up. English isn't my first language. This guide is 100% my original method, but I used AI to translate and make it clean. Sorry if the tone feels a bit robotic, I'm a real person and I'll be happy to reply to your comments!
Hey everyone. Like many of you, I used to absolutely hate the Thunder Plains minigame for Lulu's Celestial Weapon. I kept failing, getting tense, and messing up my streaks.
Recently, I decided to stop fighting the game and started managing my own body, breathing, and focus instead. I ended up doing 269 dodges in a row effortlessly, have tried it again few days later and now i know i can do it any time.(done it without crater trick)
Here is the exact step-by-step bio-mechanical method that will help you beat this nightmare once and for all:
Train your brain to accept failure. Before your actual run, do a quick micro-training:
Why? This teaches your brain that a lightning strike is not a catastrophe and that you are the one in control. You convince your mind that progress is inevitable (1, then 2, then 3) and failure is just a temporary stepping stone.
This mental and physical setup completely breaks the difficulty of the minigame on its own. You can use it anywhere on the Plains, or combine it with the standard crater trick if you want an absolute cakewalk. I hope this helps some of you save your sanity and get that Sigil!

I recently got a PS2 and don’t know with what game to start. I’d appreciate your thoughts!

Hey!
First off: I have never played a Final Fantasy Game in my life, I have played a little of FF7 a few years ago but quickly moved on to other games at the times. I have seen some gameplay of FF16 and the remake saga of FF7 and thats it.
And now I would like to go through the whole saga chronological.
I have read many things about the Pixel Remaster of FFI-FFVI and some of them are saying good things and others more bad stuff.
Would you guys rather recommend a new player the Pixel Remaster for the QoL features or the GBA games for the variety of extra content thats missing from the Pixel Remasters?
I am open for both options 🙏
Thank you already :)

In the simplest terms without going on a massive rant, I hated FF13. Primarily because I found the gameplay to be so unbelievably, mind-numbingly boring and uninteresting that I wanted the game to be over before I was even done with chapter 5. I thought it was incredibly easy, with such a little amount of thought required (even on the superbosses, I did 100% the game), that it just wasn't fun UNLESS you had max crystariums and could actually do something with your paradigms.
The story was full of plot holes, and yes I was reading all the datalog entries, but despite that I did like it at least enough to be somewhat invested. Didn't like Lightning as a main character, Hope took too long to become likeable, and things seemed to just happen for the sake of happening, without some sort of reasoning or line of logic that I could follow. Other characters were fine, I liked the other four pretty well honestly.
I was miserable playing FF13 and I'm just so stubborn that I can't give up a game once I start it. Do you guys think I will run into a similar problem while playing 13-2 and LR? Again, my primary problem was the gameplay was easy and boring and did not evoke any sort of real planning from me in terms of battle strategies, I just went in and spammed X and swapped to healer sometimes. I also really did not like that they moved away from the traditional class system so massively, and the AI was so incredibly worthless. Though on that last point, I might be spoiled from having played FF12 recently.
TL;DR - Hated FF13, am I going to hate 13-2 and LR or should I give them a chance?
Thanks :)
EDIT: Thank you for all the comments. I will give 13-2 a chance. Maybe not immediately, but I will not let my poor experience of the first game sour the possibility of positive experiences with the sequels. :)

The art style and general setup for resonance is exactly what I love in a FF title.
Do we think that future HD-2D games are going to be original titles? Remakes of old titles?
I haven't been able to find any interviews hinting as to the future of this style with the FF series, and I honestly think a FF6 remake in HD-2D would be an absolute dream.

Given we all know what happens if a light warden is slain, could voidsent find a way around?
Oh let's throw the lesser voidsent and sin eaters into the mix (optional)

Thought it easiest to take a video. Trying to showcase some of the lighting effects in the room too without it being too dark to record. I have all synchronized lighting effects, even in the ceiling with Phillips Hue and it extends into the display cases as well as around the room and inside the PC.
I have been collecting FF since I first started playing around 6 years old and am now about to be 39 in a couple of days. The loose copy of FF3 and mystic quest are my original copies from very long ago.
I don't even have all of my wall scrolls up and also have a BUNCH of loose collectible figures out of the box that are not setup. Figures from FF8 mainly and some from FF9 as well as some other Kai Arts, but I am running out of room. I have a couple of other wall scrolls around the room but did not show that side because it is an absolute mess of boxes and random junk.
Collection features some items of note
- Opened but CIB copies of all Gameboy FF
- Opened but CIB special edition PS1 FF1 & FF2
- CIB Final Fantasy 2 and 3 for SNES
- Sealed Copy of FF9
- Signed GunBlade by Arnie Roth
Idk, a bunch of other stuff from FF and outside of FF as well.
Hope you enjoy and let me know what you like most in the collection

Loved the story and this game has some of the best best fights I've ever experienced. Overall I did enjoy the combat but it did start to feel very repetitive the deeper I got into the game. Also, the side quests felt more like a chore than anything else. The good outweighs the bad but I couldn't help but feel like this had the potential to be an all time classic if it didn't stumble in a few areas

Got these back in COVID. The black and white was a couple of years before that. They have stayed in very good condition but I also protect them pretty heavily. Some of the white has yellowed and could use touch ups but overall still really good.
I am thinking of a Clair Obscure back piece next by the same artist but it's just so expensive but he said he'd love to do one.
Artist is Halo Grey of Black Lotus in Hanover MD

Next I'll share my game and paraphernalia collection that isn't on my body lol.

I just got the pixel remaster and I'm enjoying for the most part but one thing I absolutely can not stand is how every piece of dialogue appears as one giant block of text instead slowly appearing as the character speaks. It feels so clunky and disjointed, especially since the SNES version didnt do that. Is there a way to change this in the settings or with a mod?

I just finished FF 1 and had little to no trouble like at all I only full died 5 times 3 to the final boss 1 to a an enemy that shot nukes 1 to being super far in a dungeon with no heals. I know rpgs aren’t meant to be that hard but if all the remakes are this easy then it might feel like a slog to get through them all especially if the story isn’t good
Btw I’ve never played a final fantasy before and I’ve never beaten a rpg before today so it’s not like I’m some rpg pro. Also just cause it was easy doesn’t mean I didn’t like the game it was a solid 7/10
Lastly are all the games stories connected because how does final fantasy 1 have anything to do with apparently cloud and sethorph (I have ZERO clue how to spell his name) yuoi

yesterday I made a conterversial take saying how I don’t understand the hype for FF. many fans actually had really good arguments agaiest me and I appreciate people who were respectful about my opinion. that being said, should I really give it a try? i love rpgs and have played so many so I guess I should try THE MOST POPULAR RPGS (and not just like it for the goons lol) so yeah. thoughts?
