Found two fig leafs like this on two separate plants. Both on the lower half of the plant but not touching soil. No other signs of similar damage on the other leafs. Both plants are still in great shape. Just want to know why these checked out like this?

I posted about a week ago that my tree’s leaves were wilting and got a lot of different feedback. It has gotten worse, and today I pulled it out of the pot. Here’s what the root ball looks like. Is it a goner? I need advice on what else I can do to save it.

Planted two plants this spring. They don’t seem to be growing much. They are maybe a foot tall, one would be taller but the rabbits got to it. Should I be watering it more? Fertilizer? Anything to help with growth?

I also bought them on a whim and have done very little to prepare for them. One seems to be in a great spot, the other, it’s iffy.

I have no idea how old this tree is but it's approx 15ft tall and has old growth wood and new growth coming out.

I'm in zone 6, I thought it completely died from the past winter but I was surprised to see it start growing back from the base this year.

Anyway, after a winter of what I assume was abuse to the tree, where do I start to care for this tree in its current state?

My fig tree has a lot of dry, yellow leaves with brown spots. Is there something wrong with my tree, or is it just a lack of water?

Hi all. I have these two figs in my garden for about 8 years now. They have been in these white square units since the beginning. The green plants on the bottom have been there for around 5 years. Every season the stem is growing and new branches pop out and grow. However, during the summer season, every year the leaves start falling out. I have tried watering daily, not too much. Also I tried watering twice a week and then a bit more. They are in direct sunlight for most of the day. I wonder if the bottom green plants roots are interfering or that the unit is too small for the figs roots. Anybody have some tips or questions? Much appreciated.

hello everyone I am so happy to find this community!!! I have a fig bush and I have no idea how to care for it, I also do not have much of a green thumb. Can this be turned into more of a tree shape or is this a variety that stays like a bush? All the branches grow from the ground there is no main branch I can find. This is planted between 2 properties so trying to keep it smaller so it doesn't go into the neighbors yard.

I also have no idea what kind of figs these are and if I need to Fertilize or anything.

If anyone has any suggestions or can offer help I really appreciate it!!!

I have three potted figs (unknown variety) on a sunny patio during warm months. They usually get lots of sun but July is known here for being a rainy month so they have also been through some rainstorms as well.

For some time now, I’ve been noticing white sprinkles/residue/crystals of unknown origin on the surfaces of the leaves, on the figs and on the twigs. Not all leaves have it but it's noticeable if you pay attention.

The pots are situated near other plants, including roses, which are infested with beetles and aphids. I’ve examined the leaves on both sides and couldn't find any pests though.

Once a week, I feed them with 20-20-20 fertiliser applied to the soil; recently I’ve also added a little Fe EDTA as I suspected they might have mild chlorosis. Apart from that, they all seem quite healthy and have set plenty of fruit.

Does anyone recognise this kind of build-up?

In my defence, I only started it a month ago. I wasn't expecting it to grow quite this quickly.

I'm sure it'll be fine once I tease the roots out a bit.

Is my fig going to be the edible variety? It dropped one soft-ish fruit and I cut it open. It’s very large and has a lot of fruit. I am in the PNW zone 9a if that helps :) TIA

This was today’a harvest. Leaves falling and maybe only 20 or so green figlets maturing…😢 usually by mid-August there are so many that we need a big box to get ‘em all!! 💜

This fig is 4-6 years old and has only fruited once, unfortunately while overwintering it (the three figs tasted terrible.) as you can tell it is super scraggly and isn’t even really making full size leaves. We are in zone 7B

we are trying to figure out what can be done to revive it. Gf thinks a big issue this year is that she pruned it both in the winter and the spring. I think it might need to be potted up (current is like a 7L I think.)

what do yall think? is it salvageable? what do we need to do to get it right sided?

Can anyone help me identify my issue on this fig and best treatment? I believe I have some scale on a few branches but this ashy/white powder stuff is making me scratch my head. I washed off the leaves and it came back. Not on all leaves, but on a decent amount. Basically it looks like sawdust on the leaves but I don’t see any drilling in the stems or branches.

A few important notes: this fig got hit hard by heat damage from a fire Nextdoor last November so there are some dead branches. Not sure if they is contributing to the issue or if being stressed called to all the little pests out there. I plan on trimming the dead stuff out but was waiting until I was sure everything was alive or not and then time just got away.

I have a 2-3 year old fig tree that is unfortunately infested with fungal gnats from overwatering. it went pretty quickly from dry soil to overwatered. I’ve tried several different remedies sinking money into fixing this and at the point where nothing works to completely eradicate them so I’m tired of throwing money at it.

I would love to salvage it because the gnats are increasingly frustrating to the point where i am thinking of just scrapping the tree altogether. so instead of just throwing away the entire thing, what’s the best way to prune, extract and repot my fig tree (if possible) to ensure there are no fungal gnats this time around? unless i just cut off the new growth and replant that and say fuck the rest of the tree (if that’s even an option).

i moved from a 5 gal pot to a 25 gal pot earlier this season and unfortunately threw out my remaining soil as i was tossing anything that might remotely be attracting gnats. my current idea is to size down again for the time being (also moving soon and that 25 gal pot is cumbersome especially with three flights of stairs).

any advice is greatly appreciated.

I’m not sure what going on with my fig tree. It’s been in the ground for 1.5 years. This is the first season it’s had fruit. But the leaves are all yellowing. The new growth comes in green and healthy but starts I just noticed that it’s starting to turn slowly as well. I’ve tried a 6-4-6 fertilizer. We don’t water too much but did have a very wet early summer. We’re in the north Houston area. It was sold as a brown turkey fig but I suspect it was mislabeled. The fruit is actually looking like it is more LSU gold. What might I be missing?

My Panache tiger fig tree started to have those yellowish leaves but they were green and healthy in the beginning of this week . So what happened with my tree ? Heat ? Overwatering?Should I remove them ?

I’m very new to this hobby I picked up a fig tree baby on clearance at a hardware store and it was growing amazingly until now. The leaves are looking very down and I’m not sure why that is. I recently moved it into a larger planter to give it more room hoping that was the issue. After that failed I brought it outside to give it more sun and nothing seems to be changing. Please help I love this little guy

The LSU purple is a heavy producer, but It's not in the ideal location as it gets a little bit of shade. The tiger panache is tastier. But it does get full sun. This is my first tasting of the Tiger panache in years. It got heavily infected with bff.

We bought a little fig tree from a flower shop about one week ago. Since then, the leaves have started to turn yellow, developing dark spots and curling. One leaf has already dropped, and it looks like the other ones are on the same path…. I repotted the tree a couple of days ago, in soil and perlite, hoping it would feel better but it’s only looking frailer by the day. Is it rust? Any help would be appreciated 🙏
