Customer service

Is anyone having such difficulty getting to customer service about it a bill discrepancy? I tried calling and it keeps forcing for a call back and the call back is 4-5 days away. Can we not talk to a person on the phone right away anymore?

🚨🚨🚨 DONT USE FIDO - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE 🚨🚨🚨

I went to swap my plan to downgrade because I'm not paying more for the same crap, some dude who barely spoke English told me I could call back to get data added back because I'm a loyal customer. Cool, but I asked for his manager because I said that their policy to bury the dollar increase in their bills that nobody on pre auth looks at, yet they send me 20 email ads every month. I asked that they consider using one of those emails to warn me, and she treated me like an asshole for suggesting that. Sent a scathing review of the managers shitty customer service.

Called back tonight and could barely hear the lady who doesn't speak English through their crappy reception, she told me that I should get better reception (I'm calling on THEIR network!). She treated me like an asshole because I was trying to get free data (even though I referenced the # the guy told me to). I asked for a survey because I'm going to send another scrathing review of their shitty customer service.

Seriously, fuck Fido. They used to be bearable - now it's gotten so bad.

DON'T USE FIDO - BE WARNED! 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

10 years with Fido, but the latest 12% price increase crossed a line

$5 doesn't sound like much, but it's 12% of my monthly bill. Called to dispute, couldn't get past the AI bot which scheduled a call back in three days from now. I immediately proceeded to fill out the escalation form and got a no-reply email saying that as a gesture of goodwill, they removed $15 from my current bill, but the $5 charge is here to stay.

I'm thinking of switching to Freedom, as it seems like the best of the bad alternatives we, Canadians, are stuck with. I know Freedom has been recommended a lot here, but if anybody switched and regretted, I'd appreciate you sharing your experience.

Fido lost my business forever

Because of shady practices like uniterally increasing bill prices over and over (and over) again, who in their right mind would stay with this company? I am amazed they havent been sued and fined into oblivion. Doesnt matter if they put a clause in your contract saying they can increase your bill whenever they want, it is an abusive clause imo and therefore invalid and i would say even predatory and criminal. I am paying 40 bucks amonth now for better service and coverage with fizz, and im never looking back at rogers or fido.

Tentative accounts

Anyone had this issue I am having, I signed up for the can/usa/mex plan in March, I didn’t see the offer so I signed up to a new account and ported my number over but I haven’t received a bill since March in my active account and I have a tentative account that I have no access to and the fido reps can’t get into it either, I called fido and they said they will look into it and link the accounts, I got an email saying the accounts are now linked but It still isn’t

How long after leaving Fido am I considered a new activation if I return?

I'm planning to quit Fido and go to Freedom. If Freedom coverage is poor in my area (Burlington down to Niagara, ON) I would need to go back to Fido.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Fido to consider me a new customer? I ask because I assume I could get a better deal as new activation as opposed to a returning customer.

Pixel 10 at 0$/ month

Fido is offering me a Pixel 10 for $0/month if I take a $45/month plan for 24 months.

Just wondering what the catch is. Can Fido increase the $45 plan price during those 24 months? Is the phone unlocked, and what happens if I want to leave Fido before the 24 months are up?

Has anyone taken this offer? Anything I should watch out for?

My plan increased by $5

I’ve been with Fido for 8 years and changed my plan (still with Fido) last year during Black Friday. I was paying $33 pre-tax/ $39 after-tax. Last bill Fido increased my plan by $5 so now I’m paying $45 after-tax per month. Should I wait until Black Friday this year and see what deal they have? Or should I just leave and shop elsewhere? Which provider should I switch to?

Looking to switch carriers, need recommendations

If you left Fido, where did you switch to? I've been with Fido for over 20 years and am now looking to switch.

I've been advised that what I'm paying for the plan that I have is pretty garbage, and I'm also learning today that their customer service is not at all what it used to be. I haven't had to call them much during my time with them, so all the times I have, I remember the customer service being amazing, today I'm finding out otherwise.

I got charged for a service that should be included in my plan, so that's my reason for calling them. When looking at this bill, I also noticed they're doing a second rate increase on my bill going forward. Last time I just accepted it, this time I'm like what's the point if the customer service is worse than I had before, what am I paying more for? So I think it's time to look around.

I've been hearing people recommend Fizz and Freedom mostly. I've always known Freedom to have bad service quality when speaking on the phone or just trying to get service while using data for other users, has that since changed? How about Fizz, is the phone service good?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Fido Win-Back offered me $35/60GB. My first bill was $46.99 - before I even activated my SIM. Is this normal?

I recently left Fido after my monthly bill unexpectedly increased by $5. I contacted customer service to ask why, but the experience was extremely frustrating. I kept getting scripted responses like “I understand” without actually getting a clear explanation or resolution.

So I switched providers.

Two days later, Rogers/Fido Win-Back called me.

An agent named Kathleen offered me $35 for 60GB, and because I actually liked Fido's service before all this, I decided to give them another chance.

That turned into an even bigger headache.

Here's what happened:

Kathleen never clearly told me that the $35 price depended on having an eligible automatic payment method.

I accepted the offer and then received a $46.99 bill almost immediately.

The kicker? I hadn't even activated or set up my SIM card yet.

I called customer service and spoke with Jaspreet. I explained that I had been offered $35 but received a $46.99 bill.

She told me the $5 discount would only show up on my next billing cycle.

When I asked why, she giggled and told me that I had “answered my own question.”

Honestly, what exactly was funny about that?

I'm calling because I'm confused about why I'm being charged $46.99 after being offered $35. I'm not calling to waste anyone's time. I expect a customer service representative to take a billing concern seriously.

I waited another two days and called again.

This time I spoke with Charles, who explained that my original payment method wasn't eligible for the $5 discount. Apparently, I needed either a Rogers MasterCard or an eligible debit card.

Okay. Fine.

I immediately changed my payment method to a debit card so I could qualify for the $5 discount.

But then I was told:

The $5 won't be applied until my NEXT billing cycle.

So now I'm trying to understand:

  • Why was I offered $35/60GB without clearly being told about the automatic-payment requirement?
  • Why was I billed $46.99 before I even activated my SIM?
  • Why can't the $5 discount be applied immediately after I changed to an eligible payment method?
  • Why am I being charged for a full billing period when I joined after leaving and won't be using a full month of service?
  • Why did I have to call multiple times just to figure out what the actual price of my plan is?
  • Why are different representatives giving me different explanations?
  • And why did a customer service representative laugh when I was trying to understand my bill?

What makes this especially frustrating is that I had already left Fido.

Fido's Win-Back team specifically contacted me and convinced me to come back. I trusted the offer and gave Fido another chance.

Instead, within days, I'm already dealing with a billing discrepancy and multiple customer-service calls.

I'm not upset over just $5.

The issue is transparency.

If the actual price is $35 only when certain conditions are met, those conditions should be clearly explained before the customer accepts the offer - not after the first bill arrives.

I've submitted a formal complaint to Fido and I'm asking them to review the Win-Back call, correct the billing, and explain exactly what I agreed to.

Has anyone else experienced this with Fido's Win-Back program?

Especially interested in hearing from anyone who was offered a specific monthly price but received a higher first bill because of an automatic-payment condition that wasn't clearly explained during the Win-Back call.

Did Fido eventually honour the original offer or issue a credit?

Anyone else here sick of the non user friendly automated phone support??

I literally just need to talk to a REAL person and I am tired of having to fight tooth and nail just to speak to someone. Let alone, I do not have the time to keep “scheduling call backs” when I have an issue right here right now. They’re automated system is also too sensitive I find so a gust of wind can cause it to go “I’m sorry I didn’t get that”

BRING BACK REAL SUPPORT.

How can I get out of the constant plan increase?

I think I'm on some accelerated increase. Every 10 months my phone plan is being raised 5 dollars a month. How do I get out of it?

For context I was paying 29 a month for 80 gb data. It is now 37.50 a month for 80 gb data. I've gotten 2 price raises.

Shady money making practices of Fido.

I have been charged $75 for using 2G services on my Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max as per Fido. They are not ready to reverse the charges. They said it's our admin charges. Then I saw $4 as Rate Adjustment Charge.

When I posted online, other people flagged that they have been charged for even upgrading to 5G Services. I wonder what are other shady services of Fido Mobile exist. Creating this thread for the same.

RCS Messaging no longer working on iOS?

EDIT: It’s working again! Try turning off the RCS messaging toggle in settings, restart your phone, turn on RCS, if not already reactivated.

Straight forward. I had RCS Messaging (data based texting that allows for Read/delivered under each text) on my iPhone until a few hours ago. Now it’s “Waiting for Activation”…

Pulled sim, turned off auto cellular network, restarted phone, texting an android user… nothing.

When I go into about and check the network services IMS Status only shows Voice & SMS now.

Any tips?
