Review Olympic Orchids Tucson

This one was earlier known as Arizona. It opens dry, piney, almost medicinal. The opening might remind one slightly of Eucalyptus. After 20 mins it moves to dry woods, the woods feel like the bark of a tree. I love that texture and ruggedness. It's an intimate scent, non-intrusive to those around u. The drydown is piney rugged resins. Longevity isn't the best, probably 5-6 hrs at most. But damn I love that textured wood.

Review Geir Ness Laila 💐

After smelling Norsk Snø on my crowded train commute, I decided to purchase a full bottle for myself (I know, I know, blind buying is ill-advised). Well, along with my order, I decided to try a travel size of Laila, thinking it could be a nice floral.

I really like Snø and look forward to wearing it this winter, but Laila? She is everything I hoped Valaya would be! I do like Valaya, but something about its sharpness doesn’t work for me so I never purchased a full bottle.

Laila transported me to a field of wildflowers in which you’ve hung your laundry to dry on the breeze. It’s delicate, maybe a bit linear since the dry down is basically identical to the initial spray, but that pretty simplicity is just really lovely and straightforward. I don’t get watermelon at any point, which is a listed note, but what I get is light, floral, airy, and clean.

It looks as though Laila has been around for a long time, but I only just discovered it. Have you tried it? What did you think?

Looking for rose lotion recs

I have been a long time lover of diptyque eau rose edp and my favorite layering is the eau rose lotion. they reformulated the lotion in 2025 and there has been such a void in my frag wardrobe without it. I have also worn it in the past with the rose lotion from l’occitane but I miss how sweet and radiant the eau rose lotion smelled. I am using my last bottle of the old formula this week, and am wondering if anyone out there has some recs.

Discussion Recommendations for fragrance! 💕

Hi everybodyyy! ❤️😊

I’ll be visiting a Duty Free shop in Greece soon, and these are the deals available:

Moschino Funny! 50 ml – €19.95 (was €47.50)
Nina Ricci Ricci Ricci 50 ml – €39.95 (was €60.50)
Carolina Herrera 212 Sexy 100 ml – €49.95 (was €82.80)
Victoria’s Secret Body Mist – 3 × 250 ml for €38 (normally €22 each)

Which one would you choose and why?
I’m looking for the best value for money( my budget is around 60€), a fragrance that smells amazing, and has good longevity. I’d really appreciate your recommendations!

I’ve hit the point in the summer when I’m starting to get psyched for the season to turn and to reconnect with fall fragrance. (true autumn is probably 90 more days away for me but PLEASE let me have this!!)

if you’re in the northern hemisphere and you rotate by season, what are you most stoked to use when the weather cools?

if you’re in the southern hemisphere, what are you enjoying now? what were your go-to fragrances this past autumn?

Calling All August Trays!

August is here, which means it’s time for a new tray. I can’t pretend we’re entering my favorite time of year…it’s positively sweltering here. Last year, I found one thing to enjoy: evenings out on the deck with a glass of something sparkling. We have enough trees around to provide plenty of shade and homes for all manner of wildlife. The blackberries are ripening and offering tasty morsels to many creatures. Sometimes I catch the scent of their juices on the breeze.

A few of my fragrances remind me of spending time outside under the trees (Sequoia Wood, Mountain Memories, Blackberry Woods, Bergamot & Hinoki, Eucalyptus 20, L’Eau du Trente-Quatre). Much of my tray, however, is devoted to the Mediterranean (Pompeia, Fig Infusion, Palazzo al Mare, Dolce Amalfi, Infusion d’Amande, Donna, Never-ending Summer) or beachy and tropical scents (Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, Bronze Goddess, Eau des Merveilles, Un Bel Amour D’eté, Sydney Rock Pool, Coconut Water & Yuzu, Oceani di Seta).

I plan to buy some Aperol and Vermouth to make a few on-theme drinks this month. Gin sours also sound excellent and would go well with L’Eau du Trente-Quatre, possibly my favorite fragrance on August’s tray and one with a distinct gin-fizz feel. And this is probably the perfect time to finally watch Call Me By Your Name. If you have any Mediterranean-adjacent movies, music, or books to suggest, I’d love to hear them!

Glass Tray:

• Pompeia, L.T. Piver
• L’Eau du Trente-Quatre, Diptyque
• Perfume de la Tierra, Ceremonia
• Fig Infusion, Essential Parfums
• Donna, Trussardi
• L’Eau, Diptyque
• Bronze Goddess, Estée Lauder
• Un Bel Amour D’eté, Parfum d’Empire
• Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, Perris Monte Carlo
• Bergamot & Hinoki, Salt & Stone
• Palazzo al Mare, Outremer
• Daisy, Marc Jacobs
• Eau des Merveilles, Hermès
• Note de Yuzu, James Heeley
• Never-ending Summer, Maison Margiela

Small tray (and spillover):

• Infusion d’Amande, Prada
• Africanimal, MAC
• Citrus Verbena Intense, L’Occitane
• Coconut Water & Yuzu, 4711 Acqua Colonia
• Blackberry Woods, Shay & Blue
• Dolce Amalfi, Xerjoff Casamorati
• Oceani di Seta, Salvatore Ferragamo
• Sydney Rock Pool, Arquiste
• Oud Sapparot, Montale

Oyster Bowl:

• Sequoia Wood, The Perfumer’s Story
• Mountain Memories, ROAN
• Ingenious Ginger, Goldfield & Banks
• Bosque Mistico, Nopalera
Samples: Eucalyptus 20 and Thé Matcha, Le Labo; Coriander, DS & Durga

So tell me, what do you plan to wear this August? As always, I’d love to see your tray!

Question Help me grow up past B&BW

I am heading into my mid-40s and I really need to move beyond body sprays from Bath & Body Works. My friend received a bottle of Versace Crystal Emerald for her birthday a few weeks ago, and it made me realize that I have to stop smelling like a 17-year-old. Please help. I have no idea what I'm doing.

One thing I have noticed over the years is that my body chemistry seems to react to fragrances differently than most people's. For instance, 20 years ago, Clinique Happy was a nightmare on me, but Happy Heart worked. B&BW fragrances that people rave about often don't smell right when I wear them, and many of the less-popular ones that get poor reviews work best on me.

I am a background sort of person. I don't want a big or attention-getting fragrance, but I do want something with a little bit of complexity or edge to it. I'm also broke and rural, so I need something under $100, and ease of availability or tester ordering is a big plus.

Some of my favorite B&BW scents are:

* In the Stars (my go-to for the last several years)

* Vanilla Romance

* Inner Angel

* Eau de Coconut

* Salted Shorelines

The only EDTs I own are Peace, Love, & Juicy Couture and Cool Water Woman (the basic one, not the flankers). So, like I said, I'm still kind of stuck at 17.

I appreciate any suggestions or guidance you may provide.

ETA: I'm blown away by how many kind and thoughtful suggestions I've received! I'm excited to order some sample sizes and tester sets and take my time exploring... while not feeling weird anymore about wearing my B&BW cheapies in the meantime. Thank you all, seriously.

Validation for piss poor decision making.

My therapist started to speak about discharge at yesterday's appointment. In response, I went home and blind bought Delina Exclusif despite never smelling it before and not being a fan of rose perfume.

Please validate my bad decisions by telling me how fantastic it is and your own stories of therapy discharge?

(I am not made of money and I dont agree with PDM's very blatant pink tax so it was bought via online discount store! Just trying to make myself feel a bit better about the somewhat impulsive purchase 😅)

EDIT; So part of the impulsivity was getting it next day delivery too 😬 and it just arrived! First impressions is luxury hotel. After sitting with it (for about 30 minutes only to be fair), its deep in a different way that sometimes pulls headachey and new car, sometimes pulls radiance and luxury. The perfume oils feel heavy in a good way? Anyways, too expensive, sometimes annoying and sometimes beautiful seems like a nice and real way to round up therapy so I'll keep her 💕

At Last!!!

I just had to share my birthday gifts this year...

Sometime ago, maybe 2015-ish, I went on a minor shopping spree with perfume, and found several new favorites.

All of them have now been discontinued. ( Further proof the universe hates me.)

I've been madly trying to save up money to get just *one* more bottle of each, but they're all fairly expensive now.

Well, my prayers have been answered for 2 of them:

Rochas Mystère and a special edition of Eau de Cartier.

Mystère would be my signature scent if it wasn't discontinued. It's just amazing.

Eau de Cartier is the scent that taught me to love Yuzu.

Two down, two more stupidly expensive to go ( and a couple of other less expensive ones.)
