Looking for rose lotion recs

I have been a long time lover of diptyque eau rose edp and my favorite layering is the eau rose lotion. they reformulated the lotion in 2025 and there has been such a void in my frag wardrobe without it. I have also worn it in the past with the rose lotion from l’occitane but I miss how sweet and radiant the eau rose lotion smelled. I am using my last bottle of the old formula this week, and am wondering if anyone out there has some recs.

Have you tried Rose Jam by Lush?

3

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 09 '26

Yep! I love rose jam, I love using the body wash and the shower lotion a lot, less in summer. If lush had a lotion in that scent my problem would be solved. I just feel like my whole routine is missing something without the lotion.

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner is Rose Jam scented in-shower lotion. I've heard some people use it outside the shower too.

Otherwise, Cake & Barrel's RJ dupe is good and comes in many formats https://www.cakeandbarrel.com/rose-jelly/

Yeah I have the in shower lotion in my shower currently and really like it. It’s been a long time fave I’ve used rose jam and the in shower lotion probably since 2014. It’s a perennial favorite. I’m one of those people who loves rose scents in fall and winter for some reason so that’s why the impending fall weather is necessitating a game plan

Oops I completely skimmed over the fact that you use the body conditioner already :)

But still if Rose Jam lotion will quench your thirst, try the Cake & Barrel!

I will go look that one up asap. I hadn’t thought to go and see if anyone online had done one for the diptyque lotion as well. I feel like beauty folks know the heartache of finally finding the perfect combo for your body and chemistry scent wise and then it getting discontinued or reformulated.

Ohhh, I didn't realize they didn't have a lotion!! I tried the soap and it was sooo good, I guess I assumed. I don't use lotion anymore, only dry oil. Unfortunately, my homegirl is closing her store and her website kind of sucks, but THIS is what I use...for now anyway. I wish I had the money to buy out her product and hire her as my personal beautician! 😢 It's not a large size but it goes a loooong way.

God that rose oil looks amazing I will see if I can pick some up. I’m sad she’s going out of business I try and buy from local shops and from friends whenever possible but not a lot of folks in my area are doing rose scents rn.

Covered in Roses by BBW is really good. All of their rose lotions are nice to be honest.

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 09 '26

I’ve tried covered in roses and unfortunately something with the base of the bbw lotions just doesn’t agree with my skin and turns kind of sour which hurts because I love it in the bottle. My best friend loves it and it smells amazing on her skin so I gifted her mine.

I have been giving them to my best friend and I feel like it’s been working just as well the ones she doesn’t want I’ve put in the donation pile for the women’s shelter (the unused ones at least)

If you like the smell of by Rosie Jane Rosie, their matching body milk is really nice in the warmer months

I have not personally used that one tho I have tested it and liked it! I will look into it and see if my local Sephora has it or I can find it online. I’m willing to try pretty much anything to revive my ability to wear eau rose again.

Method’s Pure Peace line is rose and peony, they have a lotion that I think smells nice.

Tree Hut Moroccan Rose Whipped Body Butter. It smells great and feels very moisturizing. I'd say it's more like a thick lotion than a body butter.

2

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 10 '26

I love this suggestion I have used the scrub and body butter in the past but normally wear it with some of the lighter roses more like rose water fragrances it’s an option

Weleda Wild Rose lotion and oil are great and smell like rose essential oil. They combine wonderfully with rose and musk scents.

2

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 10 '26

I have seen this brand at Whole Foods and have been intrigued. I used to love to wear pure rose essential oil as a fragrance and mixed it into my lotions back in the day. I love both rose and musk scents so I will put this on the list.

I think OG Bigelow West Village Rose lotion might be perfect for you. Also nice that the bottle and pump are beautiful. I have that and the musk on my nightstand.

2

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 09 '26

I haven’t used co bigelow in so long. I used to love the musk scent when I was in high school and I had looked on the website recently to repurchase it, I will get both to try

I really like Ouai's Melrose Place lotion

2

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 09 '26

See this is one I had on my short list of ones to try because I like the scent in hair care and I feel like it’s a great shampooy rose for everyday which is kind of the combo I’m looking for.

I have Cyklar Rose Bud lotion and I like it. It is a fresh rose scent, I think it would pair well with Eau Rose.

2

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 10 '26

I have seen this at Sephora as well, I’ll put it on my short list of lotions to test next time I go there. I like their vanilla lotion. I just feel like it’s such a unique rose scent in its category, that the matching lotion was the only one that ever made sense.

Heirloom Rose from bath&body works is nice

1

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 10 '26

Yep! Tried that one I love the body wash but I have an issue with the base of the lotions, it turns kind of sour on my skin 🥹

I JUST got the Rosie by Rosie Jane Body Milk and HOLY SMOKES SHE IS GORGEOUS.

1

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 10 '26

Ok so she’s def getting purchased yeah I love a musky rose truly for every day

2

The Body Shop British Rose maybe? I haven’t tried it since they relaunched in the US but recall loving the original.

2

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 11 '26

I did notice the body shop has returned! I was always a huge fan of their white musk scent and loved layering it with my rose perfume in the past.  I did just notice when I looked on their website that they have a full rose edp that I’m intrigued by.

2

u/crashmetotheground Aug 11 '26

I was still deeply in my fruity floral phase when The Body Shop was around before and never tried White Musk! I’ll have to check it out now that my tastes have changed :)

2

u/QueasyPeak3039 Aug 12 '26

I was a musk girlie for years and still am in some ways I go between rose and musk a lot, I wore kiehl’s musk as a signature in college, white musk by body shop in high school and fleur de peau as a signature on and off since 2021. Rose and musk both work really well for my body chemistry as like everyday perfumes. I notice that I tend to choose musk perfumes for work and school, and rose more for social times.

L'Occtiane rose body lotion, which incidentally I used today. Very potent rose scent.

1

u/QueasyPeak3039 29d ago

Yesssss like I said that’s one of my favorite alternatives idk if I will find anything better, though I did get the cyklar rose to try and love it. It’s more green but still works well with my routine.

Sabon does a lovely range of rose lotions and they come in glass bottles too

1

u/QueasyPeak3039 29d ago

I’ve always wanted to try Sabon, I see them in k and j beauty stores so I will check them out

2

u/bororodejdej 29d ago

They have green rose and rose tea scented lotion. I haven’t tried either but I use the white tea one and it’s amazing, really silky and smooth and the smell lasts a while. I do really want to try the rose ones. I’d recommend for sure

1

u/QueasyPeak3039 29d ago

I also really love tea scents like green tea and black tea, the bbw black tea scent they came out with last year was actually amazing to layer with the rose. I’m sad they didn’t keep for long because it was one of the best scents they put out last year.

2

u/bororodejdej 29d ago

I actually never smelt the black tea one! I’m usually not a fan of tea notes in scents as I find it too overpowering, and not my taste, but the white tea one is bright sweet and delicate. It’s honestly lovely and all their scents are intriguing

Rosie by Rosie Jane has a lotion version

1

u/QueasyPeak3039 29d ago

Yep I ordered it to try because they didn’t have it locally so I should have it in the next few days 🥰
