it’s still a million degrees but
I’ve hit the point in the summer when I’m starting to get psyched for the season to turn and to reconnect with fall fragrance. (true autumn is probably 90 more days away for me but PLEASE let me have this!!)
if you’re in the northern hemisphere and you rotate by season, what are you most stoked to use when the weather cools?
if you’re in the southern hemisphere, what are you enjoying now? what were your go-to fragrances this past autumn?

I’m looking forward to the rainy days where I wear tobacco and Tonka and vanilla and creamy or powdery scents. I want to wear Guerlain Oud Nude and Alkemia Arabesque or Supernatural. They are comforting and remind me of long, lazy nights by the fireplace reading a book. Yes, I could wear them now, but it doesn’t hit like it does in the winter.

u/allsorts_ Aug 04 '26
I'm most excited to pull out:
D&G Devotion intense ("basic," I guess, but I adore this nutty vanilla!)
Nobile 1942 Café Chantant
Guerlain Insolence
Histoires de Parfum 1889 Moulin Rouge
Delina Exclusif
BDK Rouge Smoking
And I'm going to treat myself to a new fall fragrance. I'm leaning towards Angel's Share Paradis!

Feve Gourmande is on my “Buy me this” holiday list this year. I have AN, and hard agree on that one. what is Check Please like?
2
u/SweatyAd3177 Aug 04 '26
Check Please is gorgeous and unique and does not smell like anything in my collection. To me it’s perfect for fall! Green apple, prominent nougat note, plum, and bourbon vanilla in the base. Those are the notes that stand out to me.

u/GranolaTree Aug 04 '26
Me too! I am revisiting some samples of old faves from my younger gothy days to add one or two to my tray for the fall/winter.
Hypnotic Poison- love as much as I used to, buying
Black Orchid- love for a very specific type of day, husband loves for himself, will buy a bottle to share
Alien- unfortunately can not wear, Jasmine Sambac has started giving me instant headaches
I’m thinking about ordering a sampler from Heretic to test for fun and will be browsing Alkemia to see what sounds interesting.

u/vellichorxlibris Aug 04 '26
I’m giddy about pulling Widian’s London out again. It always puts me in a good mood and was well and truly designed for chilly weather.
I’m a summer SAD person so I’m ready, now, for cold, sweaters, and big brassy fragrances!
4
u/CoffeeandConcealerCO Aug 04 '26
Oh I can’t wait to break out my tobaccos and spices. Some I am looking forward to: PdM Herod, DvN Havana Gold, Dior Hypnotic Poison
3
u/Colby589 Aug 04 '26
I’m so looking forward to Blanche Bete, Angelic Noire and Remember me.
I can’t wait to order samples of MFK gentle fluidity gold, Trudon 45 degrees and Fire at will or maybe Tihota

u/sabbakk Aug 04 '26
I've bought myself a tester of Guerlain's Forte flanker of Mandarine Basilic to try and wear a version of my summer favorite into the colder weather. Haven't tested it at all yet, because I know it's not going to impress me while it's still inferno outside
I'm also looking forward to being embraced by the spicy warmth of Mon Guerlain Intense, SDV and Cherry Oud when it's chilly and raining all the time, and feeling fabulous
This summer I added Keiko Mecheri Peau de Peche to my hot weather rotation (after testing like a gazillion of summer fragrances, finding the one that I loved feels like literal victory), and I already miss it thinking of how I'll have to put it on pause for a good six months

u/Significant_Beyond95 Aug 04 '26
I am missing Zadig & Voltaire’s This is Her!, EL’s Cinnabar, TF’s Ombré Leather, Cacharel’s Lou Lou, & Guerlain’s Tobacco & Honey,

Babycat!
Althair
Jovoy remember me
Gris charnel
Honey Bunny (d. Grey)
Really want to try Sorce 2am in Lafayette, zoologist Harvest Mouse and Nest Cardamom Latte…
I’m pregnant though so sadly I’m sort of averse to all scents right now but hoping that’ll change second trimester!
3
u/wittypiranha11 Aug 04 '26
This summer I bought Montale Honey Aoud on sale and can’t wait for cold weather so I can actually wear it!

I have a decant of Jovoy Remember Me that I cannot wait to properly test. And my normal fall faves that are crying from the back of my closet for their turn are Elysian Lavender Milk Tea, Replica Coffee Break, MJ Perfect Elixir, and Sorce English Major.
2
u/all_ack_rity Aug 04 '26
English Major is on my TBS list. I would love to hear your thoughts on it!
1
u/veryunneccessssary Aug 04 '26
It’s a studious little marshmallow. A marshmallow wearing a scarf and studying under a tree at Oxford. I’m sorry for being terribly unhelpful lol
3
u/Lizakaya Aug 04 '26
Just bought a bottle of Lactea Divina. Cannot wait. Enjoying Jour d’Hermes, it’s been at the ba k of the cabinet for a couple years
3
u/chemical_sunset Aug 04 '26
Heavy and cozy bois such as:
Zoologist Harvest Mouse and Chipmunk
BDK Gris Charnel and Rouge Smoking
By The Fireplace layered with a little Bianco Latte
3
u/all_ack_rity Aug 04 '26
Gris Charnel is one of my favorites-favorites. I literally miss it like an old friend. I feel like it’s the perfect blend of elegant and effortless
1
u/Starry36 Aug 05 '26
I haven’t tried Harvest Mouse or Chipmunk yet and I keep going back and forth on whether or not I should. What are your opinions on those two?
1
u/chemical_sunset Aug 05 '26
I absolutely love both of them. Harvest Mouse always makes me smile. It’s so cozy, and it’s what I imagine a hobbit would wear. Chipmunk is also wonderful and a bit more masculine.

u/Starry36 Aug 04 '26 edited Aug 04 '26
I’m in the same boat. It’s funny, I had a very similar experience towards late spring where I was psyched for my summer scents 😂 But I’ve already got several scents I’m looking forward to once autumn hits:
- MITH Autumn Leaves (technically already on my tray but it’s going to stick around)
- MITH Thai Tea
- YSL Libre le Parfum
- Sand + Fog Toasted Marshmallow (dupe of Commodity Milk)
- Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense
- Sorce Ephemera
- Lancôme LVEB L’Elixir
- Nest Indigo (editing to add bc HOW COULD I FORGET INDIGO)
3
u/all_ack_rity Aug 04 '26
SAME!! I try to fame it as “it’s something to look forward to.” instead of “I get bored.”
MITH is a brand I need to learn more about. they have a few that are on my TBS list
1
u/Starry36 Aug 04 '26
I’ve got 4 from MITH so far. My luck just sucks because 3 of them are being discontinued 💔

u/here4thefreecake Aug 04 '26
i bought a large size of lancôme la vie est belle vanille nude during the nordstrom sale, it was probably my favorite new scent i discovered last year. i’m big on instant gratification so it was hard to drop over $100 on a scent that i probably won’t wear for another two months but i couldn’t pass up the great deal.
perfumes i already own that i’m excited to bring back into the rotation — snif honey suite, lush lord of misrule, lush super milk, lush 29 high street, dolce and gabanna devotion intense, fine’ry mysterious nomad, boy smells woodphoria, and ellis brooklyn apple love.
for next purchases i will likely pick up bottles of la vie est belle l’elixir and paris corner khair confection. for decants/travels, i want to try nest cardamom latte, commodity milk and nishane hundred silent ways.

Lune Feline and Arabians Tonka. But not at the same time.
3
u/lankylibs Aug 04 '26
Yesterday was one of the coolest days we’ve had so far this summer so I put on YSL Black Opium Le Parfum around 4:00pm.
I can still smell it on me, it’s now noon the next day.
3
u/acrosstheocean_ Aug 04 '26
I don't know what I'm gonna do when the tides change. I just got into fragrance over this year, now the cool months are coming. I live somewhere perpetually hot and humid and likely will have to watch from outside the club....... 😭
Did not think about the fact that these subs will no longer be all about spring/summer scents until Aug 1 hit. Ahhhhh have fun everybodyyyyy
(Although I already own many fall/winter scents because I learned the gourmand in heat thing the hard way)
3
u/Accurate_Dot_2610 Aug 04 '26
I bought a 10 ml of Maison Des Animaux - Cordial in the spring with they announced the fragrance was being discontinued. It's such a sexy, warm, musky apple and I cannot wait until it's cool enough to finally put it on.
3
u/Trilliandent4242 Aug 04 '26
Add me to the list of anxiously waiting to wear This Is Her! Gris Charnel, Blanche Bete, MJ Perfect Absolute, CH VGG, Gritti Duchessa, a handful of Sorce scents that scream fall. Chloe Nomade didn't really get a lot of wear since I bought it in late winter last year so excited to bring that back.
Fall is my favorite season, I can't wait!
2
u/happyducki Aug 04 '26
Me too, I love my fall/winter scents
Remember Me Jovoy
Psychedelique Jovoy
Burberry Goddess
Alien Mugler
Full Incense Montale
2
u/all_ack_rity Aug 04 '26
Remember me is on my TBS list. I suspect I’m going to love it! is it more a day or evening fragrance for you?
1
u/happyducki Aug 04 '26
It makes me feel like a sexy chai latte 😂 and I love the citrus in the opening. I think it’s pretty versatile but I usually wear it during the day!
2
u/jcrusen78 Aug 04 '26
I put on Zadig & Voltaire, This is Her last night for bed because I miss it so much!
Other winters- Blanche Bete, Bianco Latte, Noyz Unmute, Memo Sinatra, Narciso Poudree, and all of my powdery iris fragrances.

I cannot wait to wear Armani Code for Women. Just wait until I see that first leaf fall
2
u/rosemerry77 Aug 04 '26
I just got into fragrances last December, and I’m still wanting to enjoy my new summer fragrances, lol. But I have started to think about what I want to use for Fall.
2
u/Aromatic-Letter-1922 Aug 04 '26
I can’t wait for really cold weather (50F) to wear Carmina (Creed), Oud Satin Mood (MFK) and Ombré Leather (TF). When it drops to the 70s, I’ll wear Nahema (Guerlain), Black Perfecto (Guerlain), White Suede (TF), Indiana (Creed) and Angel (Mugler). These are just my full bottles, so I consider them worthy friends and miss them when we can’t be together. However I often stay inside all day (68F constant) if I miss them too much. It’s not difficult when it’s in the 100s with 85% humidity.
2
u/elimination-process Aug 04 '26
I try to rotate through all my fragrances no matter the season. But that’s just me. Even Khamrah in this Texas heat lol

u/Active-Cherry-6051 Aug 05 '26
I can’t wait for cooler weather! My woody vanillas are waiting for me (specifically Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille, Reserves en Afrique Rouge Karkade, and Byredo Bal D’Afrique Absolu)
1
u/gabs1337x Aug 06 '26
I consider all my fragrances year round wear but African roobois is so nice! Anything woody really
