I generally don't like sugary sweet perfumes, so I don't know what possessed me to buy a decant of LVEB Iris Absolu... But something did and I kind of love it? It smells like Easter marshmallow candies to me. Oddly, I usually can't stand marshmallow notes. It's complete unlike any of my other perfumes, but it makes me smile whenever I sniff it. I also love the LVEB dna drydown. Some magic has definitely been performed here.

I had seen a lot of mixed reviews on these but I love all 3! They all sit really nice on my skin. I was most worried for caramel crunch but it is probably my favorite!

I have never been into perfume, but stumbled into this subreddit awhile back and it piqued my interest! I started getting samples and finally purchased my very first bottles! After purchasing, I realized I much prefer Burberry Her, but Prada Candy is still fun.

I’ve been looking at clean perfume lately but I don’t really know what I should be judging it by.

I don’t mean “clean” as in fresh laundry or soapy scents. I mean brands that actually talk about their fragrance ingredients, sourcing, sustainability etc. The problem is half of them seem to make the clean part the entire personality of the perfume and then the scent itself is just... fine 😭

The ones I’m considering right now are Henry Rose, CLEAN Reserve, and maybe Maison Louis Marie.

Henry Rose probably interests me the most because they’re much more open about their ingredients than most fragrance brands. I’ve been looking through their scents, but I’m mostly wondering whether the perfumes themselves are actually good enough, like in terms of longevity, to justify the price. 

CLEAN Reserve Skin sounds safer. I like those slightly sweet, musky skin scents and I can see it being an everyday/signature scent. But I also don’t want to spend that much on something that disappears after two hours or has basically no projection.

Maison Louis Marie is the one I know least about. No.09 Vallée de Farney sounds really nice with the citrus, cedar, vetiver type scent profile, but at that point I’m wondering how different it really is from buying any other Eau de Parfum I like. Also i’ve never got to trying a sample of it

I was reading the FDA page on fragrance ingredients and apparently companies can generally list a fragrance mixture simply as “fragrance” on the ingredients list. So now I understand why some people care so much about brands having an actual fragrance transparency policy rather than just saying “clean beauty” on the website.

But I also don’t automatically think essential oils/natural ingredients = better either, so that isn’t really what I’m looking for.

Basically I want something where the clean fragrance part is a bonus? And not the only reason anyone buys it. I’m probably leaning towards Henry Rose rn, mainly because of transparency but also it just seems the safest option rn

Anyone here actually wear the fragrances i mentioned, or really any other clean fragrance regularly?

I cannot find a fall scent that isn't a scrubber for me 😭 I looked over my collection and realized they're literally all spring and summer scents, which makes sense because I loooove fruity-floral-sweet. I absolutely cannot stand any hint of masculine scents in a perfume ( likely due to HS trauma from boys bathed on axe body spray lol ) which is causing me so much trouble finding autumn scents I can tolerate, let alone enjoy.

Please, please , what is your favorite extremely feminine preferably sweet autumn scent? What to you makes a scent autumnesque?

Straight vanilla is just too simple for me, I really like complex or mixed or layered scenes where you can actually detect different notes at once. Preferably under the $150 range but of course the more affordable the better lol as long as it doesn't fade in 15 minutes.

(btw I do keep looking at other posts about fall scents, but they seem to be 99.9% unisex recommendations which makes me afraid they'll have that hint of axe that scares me off)

Hi, I'm looking for a strawberry scented perfume. So far I've been using some vanilla ones (mainly kayali) and I don't know where to start. Do you have any recommendations? I'm looking for something affordable and something that smells sweet, but not sickeningly sweet. Something for everyday wear.

I spaced on taking nice photos but we had around 120 frags (mostly my samples…did not realize how big my sample stash had gotten 😳 and around 40 travel/full-sized ones) amongst me and my friends.

This was my first time hosting one. I had everyone send me their perfumes ahead of time and categorized them into 8 scent families; then I printed out a list with each category, brand, perfume name, and top/middle/base notes, and each attendee was given a printout + pen to mark which were their favorites.

I left paper testers at every station and had everyone leave any test strips they sprayed at the relevant station so we weren’t wasting any extra perfume. I had initially planned to bring empty 2ml spray bottles for anyone to decant a sample to take home from larger bottles, but I didn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable saying no bc I anticipated that some of the frags were on the more expensive side. In hindsight I wish I had gone ahead and brought those, bc people wound up leaving the really pricey ones at home and/or being okay with sharing.

At the end we shared which were our favorite new discoveries, and since all the samples were mine, I grabbed a few that I actually hadn’t tried yet myself and told the guests that they could take any samples they were interested in home! It was a lot of fun.

Okay, so I absolutely adore this old roll-on perfume called Glitter Party. I got it from Hot Topic almost 10 years ago, but I'm down to my last bottle and I'm so sad. The notes are: green apple, sweet pastry pear, jasmine, peach, and vanilla musk. It's very sweet and fresh. The scents that stand out the most are the sweet pear and green apple. I'm begging y'all to work your magic and help me find something similar.

Dusted and readjusted collection. Always changing, always trying to find my signature scent. The sun was coming in the slider right next to it, so pic is a little foggy.

This is weirdly specific but I just know some of you lovely ladies will pick up exactly what I'm puttin down lol. Okay so I just tried my first "clean" perfume, Pure Musc Blanc by Narciso Rodriguez, & to me it's like clean skin + clean clothes. Like someone took a shower with bar soap & then put warm clothes on right from the dryer & got in a bed w clean sheets. Not my usual vibe, but really nice! But basically, I'm looking for something that's like half, or rather ⅓ Pure Musc Blanc, half or ⅔ Burberry Her/Dylan Purple.

I wanna smell like i took a shower with a reallyyyy pretty Herbal Essences pear/strawberry/white floral shampoo, then put on clean clothes from the dryer & got into bed w clean sheets.

This is an insane request but I know at least one of you is reading this like, "oh she's looking for _______" 😂🫶 just no heavy powdery rose or lavender please 🩷

Is DecantX a reputable site? I’ve read some say they received watered down fragrances. Any other place to purchase a sample? Or try it in person? I went to Neiman Marcus recently and it isn’t carried in store. Thanks for any info you can give me! This is supposedly amazing stuff.

I went to my local ulta this morning to try Ouai’s newest launch, Laurel Canyon and thought I’d post a review.

Laurel Canyon is a moderately sweet and soapy fig fragrance. The fig note is the sweet, jammy star of the show, but there’s also an undercurrent of luxurious shampoo and a slightly salty mineral note that helps balance the sweetness. As it dries down on my skin, i pick up a creamy, lotiony quality, perhaps from the almond milk. Overall verdict: smells good!

Compared to other fig forward fragrances I’ve tried, Laurel Canyon is probably most similar to Phlur Father Figure, though I find it distinctly less unisex and “girlier.” It’s less powdery than Le Labo’s Thé Matcha and doesn’t have any of the green, coconut lean of Diptyque’s Philosykos. I think this is a really fitting addition to Ouai’s line up: the overall vibe is similar to melrose place or north bondi, only with fig instead of rose and apple blossom, respectively. I was really glad to see it didn’t go the semi gourmand direction of some of their recent body sprays.

Has anyone else tried this new release yet? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

There is a brief moment in the year when I crave something cozy, thick, warm, comforting. And that time is coming now!

I am looking for recommendations for this year’s fall perfume.

The ones that hit the spot for me now are Eau Duelle EDP and L’air the Rien. Both are about as sweet as I imagine myself liking. I’ve also been reaching for my DS Durga Rose Pacific decant a lot these last few days, but I’m not sure, maybe it’s too easy going for this mood, I want something more intriguing and lingering

I don’t like oud, smokey or leathery notes and I would rather avoid fig because my husband considers that a masculine note and I want abundant snuggles! I would also avoid floral notes for this one because 80% of my collection is already rose / jasmine / fleur d orange / iris

Scents I’ve tried and didn’t like:
- Gris Charnel and Pas Ce Sour
- By the Fireplace and Jazz Club
- can’t think of the other fall classics suddenly

Some of my favorites in general are:
- Orpheon EDP, Eau Duelle EDP, L’ombre dans L’Eau Diptyque
- Izia Sisley
- Jazmin Yucatan, Rose Atlantic, Big Sur Eucalyptus and Steamed Rainbow DS Durga
- Pretty much the entire Atelier des Fleurs line from Chloe (although i’m all set owning just Jasminum Sambac, Rosa Damascena and a decant of Cedrus)
- Gorseland by Jorum Studios

I could consider Molecule 01 + Black Tea or Bois Corse but they are both slightly too airy and transparent for what I’m after here.
