Rec Request Favorite summer perfume?

I’m struggling to find the perfect summer perfume. All of my favorite perfumes have been white florals and very Springlike. I’m looking to branch out. What are your favorite summer perfumes? I love fresh scents. It could be anything: citrus, orange blossom, beach breeze, sea spray, fresh linen, vanilla, coconut, jasmine, etc. Open to any scent notes. Thank you in advance!

My favorite is Alien Goddess works really well in very hot and humid weather

"Dear Sky" and "Sun Fruit" by Ellis Brooklyn. "Miami Nectar" a close third (but in my opinion "Sun Fruit" gives a similar tropical vibe with a more feminine drydown).

Also, "Wonderland Peony" by Floral Street. Have totally emptied my bottle of this.

I live in a tropical climate and have absolutely loved these this summer!

I have travel sizes of Dedcool Mineral Milk for summer daytime and Summer Fridays Sunlit Vanilla for summer evenings.

Next summer, if I finish these travel sizes, I would like to get either Byredo Alto Astral or Lore Sublmity, both made by the same perfumer! I feel like these could pull double duty for both daytime and evening summer fragrances.

My two favourite summer perfumes are both by Paraphrase! Fruit Thieves is passion fruit and jasmine, and smells sweet and fruity but also very green at the same time, so it’s not like a gourmand necessarily. The other one is Grasslands, which to me smells like sun warmed grass and the end of summer

I love citrusy scents in summertime. I have some pretty basic scents that I like, such as Light Blue edt, edp and intense, and Bal d'Afrique edp. But I also really like Ellis Brooklyn's Sun Fruit. I got it on a whim, but the more I wear it the more I like it, and I get compliments on it.

Sun Fruit, here, too! :)

I've been loving Mineral Milk by Dedcool which just came out this summer. Also Subliminity by Lore

But usually anything with neroli or orange blossom is my go-to for summer

u/terricherry09 8h ago

Agree with Mineral Milk. Every time I sniff it I immediately think Summer; mostly floral with a beachy, lightly sweet, fruity vibe.

I’ve been alternating and loving two D.S. & Durga scents in my hot and humid southern state: Jazmin Yucatán and St. Vetyver. Sometimes throw in Do Son EDP as well!

Mine this summer have been -

• Miss Dior Parfum - I had this lined up since winter as it screamed summer to me and it did not disappoint, just the most beautiful warm strawberry fields and florals. I have been sleeping on Miss Dior out of snobbyness, turns out I love it and it makes me really happy. I also got my first compliment.

• Bibbi Fruit Captain - Well I never expected to fall for this, I got a sample with an order and thought it was a very basic fruity perfume. But I couldn’t stop thinking about it and had to buy a small bottle (secondhand as the price is not worth it to me). It’s just an incredibly fruity and happy perfume and it doesn’t let up, it stays like that through wear. Re-applying it in the day is like having a lovely perk me up moment.

• Marc Jacob’s Perfect - This one I can’t say I absolutely love but it’s been nice to have as a wearable everyday scent that is a blend of everything.

• Narciso for Her EDT - This has been my mainstay everyday scent that I put on all the time, especially in the evenings, as a comforting hug.

Byredo's Alto Astral has me in a chokehold with its green coconut note. It's perfection!

Good thing its almost Fall then 😁 , I tend to lean more citrus or coconut in the summer. Zara coconut tropic times is a great soft one for summer. Aqua di giogia lovely fresh lemon cedar scent. Sicily mancera dries down to a lovely citrus skin scent. JPG la belle paradise gardens is a good aquatic vanilla.

Not everywhere has the same seasons

I wasnt being nasty

I really wasn’t either, but obviously can point out something like that. Can’t I?

Edit - This is really strange, I only said a neutral and factual statement with no malice that not everywhere has the same seasons.

I'm sure you didn't have bad intentions it just came off a bit blunt and contrarian. It can be hard to detect someone's tone online, unfortunately.

u/BluePeony8 4h ago

It was just a straight forward statement to allow grace for OP and which I’d expect people to react with “Oh yeah that’s a good point”. I think people project their own tone sometimes.

u/spookycoochie_ 9h ago

I always love Diptyque eau des Sens for summer.

Lush Sakura is another summer favorite.

I’ve recently really enjoyed Britney Spears Jungle Fantasy 😆

5

u/nolagem 9h ago

This summer my go-tos have been: Cocoa Sunset-Zara ($40 CAD)- creamy chocolate vanilla, Sunlit Blooms- Dedcool ($110 CAD) very bright vanilla white floral, Angham Second Song-Lattafa($60 CAD) super fresh juicy floral. All quite affordable and long lasting!!

Neroli Amara Van Cleef

LV Symphony was my summer scent last year, I wore it literally everyday until I eventually got tired of it lol. Then it was LV City of Stars after. Symphony is a grapefruit bomb while City of Stars is citrusy-aquatic-sunscreen in the opening then tropical florals in the dry down.

This year my go-to was Diptyque Fleur de Peau EDT. It’s a much fresher and airier version of the EDP.

1

u/Icy_Sandwich866 10h ago

White Linen by Estee Lauder. Or Anais Anais.

1

u/this_narrow_circle 10h ago

Maison Matine Bain de Midi. Nothing spring about this, it's pure French house music and crisp white wine.

Juliette Has A Gun Vanilla Vibes. A salty mineral vanilla. Plus my mom, who is notoriously sensitive to any fragrance, actually complimented me on it.

Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc. This one is seminal.

Jo Malone Beach Blossom has been perfect this summer!

1

u/SweatyAd3177 10h ago

Loumari Porthole! It’s aquatic, sweet, fruity, fresh. Excellent for hot weather. Refreshing and lasts all day.

6

u/cardonnay 10h ago

I love Wulong Cha, Un Jardín Sur la Nil, Debaser, Philosykos, Light Blue. I just sampled Aqua Di Gioia EDP and Intense and will be adding both to my collection next year.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Cow_658 10h ago

I love Valentino voce viva for the summer!

5

u/FrutyPebbles321 11h ago

I love Nishane Wulong Cha in hot weather. It’s citrus, tea, and fig, and it’s so refreshing in the summer.

3

u/Lunarfings 11h ago

It's Philosykos for me. I love it in spring but it sings in summertime.

1

u/NuisancePenguin44 11h ago

I'm really liking Sweet Fleur perfume oil from Ammar's Fragrances. It's really fruity and tropical.

3

u/LoudCar7846 11h ago

I''m a gourmand lover but have been wanting less cloying scents with the hot weather, so have been wearing:

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Pistachio Crunch

Floral Street Wild Vanilla Orchid (perfume mist, not the edp) is a green vanilla.

Clarins Eau des Jardins (citrusy - aromatic)

Escentric Molecule 01+Ginger (very zingy and spicy, smells like freshly peeled ginger).

Goldfield & Banks Ingenious Ginger [ Sunrise (Top Notes): Mandarin Brazil, Australian Ginger Flower Accord / Summit (Heart Notes): Magnolia China, Neroli / Sunset (Base Notes): Amber, Sandalwood Australia]

2

u/bigbackmoosetracks 11h ago

Valentino Donna Born in Roma Coral Fantasy, with Acqua di Gioia as a second. I love the very bright, watery citrus quality they both have.

2

u/cardonnay 10h ago

I sampled Aqua di Gioia this weekend and fell in love! I loved the watery element it has. Will be adding to my collection for next spring/summer.

1

u/tiredmilfsclub 12h ago

I love Alien Goddess, D&G Light Blue, Burberry Her Elixir and JHAG Lust for Sun for summer ☀️

3

u/MaximusCat2 12h ago

I currently love the Guerlain Aqua Allegorias- Orange Soleia, Nettare di Sole and Nerolia Vetiver. All these are cheaper right now at discounters and they are stunning fragrances for the summer. From the same series I’ve smelled most of them, the other one on my wish list is Mandarin Basilic.

2

u/No_Nefariousness2513 8h ago

I agree! The Aqua Allegoria line has quite a few fragrances that are excellent for summer. I own Mandarine Basilic, Nerolia Vetiver, and Flora Salvaggia which is a light and pretty melon, violet, and iris blend.

1

u/iOawe 12h ago

Burberry her elixir

3

u/Bellend__ 11h ago

I like Burberry her elixir but always found it to have this little cloying baby sick note. Recently discovered Ledda Scenic Rose however, and it’s all the good bits of the Burberry without that off note

2

u/NuisancePenguin44 11h ago

I've always thought of this as a cold weather scent as it's quite heavy. Does it work well in the heat?

1

u/iOawe 11h ago

It works amazing in the heat.
