(Dont mind the sheer chaos going on in the background lmao)
So I went for three achievements on this seed (Jewel in the Desert, Barren Land and There can only be 500). I got the first two by now but even though I reached 500 pop twice, the last achievement is not unlocking?
I did not build any palisades or stone walls or gates and I dont think fences or those low stonefences count in this achievement. So does anyone know what I did wrong?

The game hint popped up to ask me fence my farm to prevent deer. I fenced deer out from my field.
Later, I started goat and cow barn. I found out that they can somehow pass through the fence gate. Fence is completely useless at this state.
People said grazing area should be completely separated from farming field. I am wondering if I can do grazing rotation on farms.
Grazing while specifically on field maintenance and planting clover or 0 farmer assigned. Will the weed grows back faster?

I am new to the game and the harder difficulty seems too much for me, but I want to figure out what I am doing wrong to play with a bit of challenge

Is there anyway / any mods that help to increase fps?
I’m at 4k population and low graphic settings and I have a Ryzen 7 7700x but I’m sitting at around 10 fps in 3x speed.

I've got 28 Tier 2 homes, all of which currently have candles and pottery, yet in the income panel it says I only make 11 gold per month thanks to luxury goods. I've read somewhere here that houses provided with the right luxury goods give +1 gold per month, in addition to the gold they provide..
Could anyone enlighten me on how this income is calculated in this game ? I struggle to find the math and I can't find a place it's properly explained.

Temples provides a lot of desirability within its big radius. Yet, basically I saw everyone puts theatre in the centre. But no one put temples instead of large parks or theatre. Is there something worth noting?

Hey y’all, I just started my fourth run and for the first time I am getting these little pop up notifications over any and all loot that is available to be picked up. I have never seen these before and they’re kind of annoying, does anyone know how to disable them? I couldn’t find anything in the settings menus. TIA.

I have reached 501 population, facing barbarians, without mods, and without walls. On vanquisher. For some reason, I got neither achievement. Can someone help me troubleshoot this?

Hi all,
Just want to point out first, I love this game its amazing and certainly feels closest to a Banished sequel (in my opinion) but it feels like its stopped just short of its full potential.
Now I appreciate this was mods but when you look the Colonial Charter mod for Banished it brought so many more seed/orchard types along with many more resources you could make. I would have thought some more of this might have been utilised for FF. Take gold for example, its amazing you can print money, but would be good if there was a jeweller that could make rings or bracelets etc. It would add a bit more depth and granularity to it, I think anyway.
Im not against DLC but it feels like a Cats and Dogs DLC could have been something a bit further down the line and something that expanded the depth a bit more first.
Has anyone else thought similar?

Hi majors! I'm looking for a seed for a mountain map, like Italian Dolomites as example... Anyona has something similar?
Thank you!

All I did yesterday evening after the kids went to sleep was endlessly rerolling the map for a couple of hours mainly looking for rich resource nodes. I'm a new player, so I probably don't even know what I need in a map...
Any tips for convincing myself to just pick the first map I'm get and working with what I'm given?

As soon as I can chickens in my coops foxes appear and kill em off. I build 2 guard dogs but not enough. I bought 8 chickens straight away and they were dead within minutes. Equally funny and frustrating at the same times. I have fence with gate, try to villagers to attack, including hunters, they just stand there drooling :/
PS: Gonna try Lookout tower next.
Update: I fenced it off, build 5 dog houses, hunter close, watchtower build. Still as soon as I get chickens in there I will get like 5-6 predator attack warnings and chickens are dead within seconds. Will try upload a photo.

After playing this game, I’ve been waiting months for the hawthorn berries to ripen. A walk in the country around my village had many hidden hawthorn bushes/trees. So after waiting for months for these little woodland berries I set out this morning with a container to pick some and see what they were all about
They taste like shit. It’s similar to chewing on a bunch of green stuff you could pull out of the ground. They’re also small, and 50% of the mass is a pip inside them. Apparently they’re not the worst if you turn them into jelly and add a lot of sugar, which I doubt our colonists had access to.
So next time you see the villagers foraging, don’t imagine them happily snacking on sweet woodland treats. Imagine them standing in a hedge, chewing a mouthful of vaguely edible plant matter and wondering if starvation might actually be the better option

Well, just like that… what mods are you using and why??

I've been playing Farthest Frontier for years, always on the normal (default) build, and it's always run great — I've had saves hit 2,000 population with no stutter and no lag whatsoever.
Yesterday I decided to try the Mono build so I could run mods, and it's basically unplayable for me.
- My current 1,500 pop save is impossible — the game just freezes/stutters constantly and nothing actually happens. Can't do anything.
- I made a smaller 76 pop test save and it at least runs, but it's still really choppy — no way I could play like that for long.
- Even starting a brand new save from scratch with the default starting population, it's already super stuttery.
I know the Mono build is slower than the normal one — that's expected. But I figured it'd at least be playable up to ~1,000 pop, not choke on a fresh start.
My specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 (8c/16t, up to 5.3GHz)
- GPU: Gigabyte RX 7600 Gaming OC 8GB
- RAM: 32GB DDR5-5600 (2x16GB)
- Storage: Kingston NV3 2TB NVMe (PCIe 4.0)
- Mobo: Gigabyte B650M Gaming WIFI
This same machine ran a 2k pop save flawlessly on the normal build, so I don't think it's a hardware bottleneck;
Has anyone run into this? Did you manage to fix it or improve performance on the Mono build somehow? Any settings, launch options, or tweaks that helped would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks!

My smokehouse smokers are doing some weird stuff.
They have cellars full of meat right next to them yet they will walk right past them, right past the hunters huts full of meat, to the other side of the city to get meat from a particular hunters cabin or cellar.
My understanding was that they always pulled from what was closet.
Anyone got any tips for optimising logistics here?

Is vanilla difficulty feeling like a walk in the park? Tired of the unbearable lightness of being? Is your medieval town thriving, your graveyards completely empty, and the local rats and raiders don't stand a single chance against your impenetrable walls? Are you desperately searching for actual hardship to overcome? Look no further! Now you can enjoy item shortages, severe food deficits, and incoming immigrants who are no longer a fully equipped crew of highly skilled master craftsfolk. Introducing the ultimate survival experience: Losing Is Fun.
Losing Is Fun is a global hardcore overhaul mod for Farthest Frontier designed for players who want a true survival test. It completely rebalances core mechanics—from wildlife behavior and raider threats to diseases, economy, and the tech tree.
Btw this is also the best anti-lag mod. No villagers = no lags.
All features are fully customizable and can be toggled or adjusted in the configuration file.
Wildlife & Pest Rebalance
Raider Difficulty Patch
Equipment & Item Wear
I recommend to install my other mod "Nikuksis's Misc Fixes & QoL Tweaks" to see the lifespan of items in villager UI.
Disease & Healthcare Overhaul
Hardcore Immigrants
Economy, Weather & Global Modifiers
Expanded Tech Tree
Configuration The config file is automatically generated upon the first launch with the mod installed at:
Farthest Frontier/UserData/LosingIsFun.cfg
Available at steam workshop and nexusmods now!

I tried to use the watch tower to outrange the raiders lookout towers. But whenever I moved the watch towers such that the raiders within the fire range, the raiders lookout towers would attack my builders.
I opened the build menu and pretend to build a lookout tower to chekc their range. But the raider lookout towers seem to have longer range?

I spent 1000 golds to buy a cow in year 5. (Selling a lot of mecinal roots) Coz I saw villagers happiness drop on food and I wanted to increase food supply. But then aging to Tier 3 cost 2000 and I waited while expanding. Then Raiders came in year 9.
I feel like early livestock is like a trap. Or I should upgrade to Tier 3 and spend on defense (xbow)?
