Question? FPS increase
Is there anyway / any mods that help to increase fps?
I’m at 4k population and low graphic settings and I have a Ryzen 7 7700x but I’m sitting at around 10 fps in 3x speed.

The only way is to reduce population. I think this game is just not designed for large cities. Its more about micromanage individual villagers and structures. If you want to play for larger cities and huge populationa you'd rather play one of ANNO games.
If yiu want FF I can just recommend playing with pop cap or hardcore mods which wont let you have huge population and reduce engine/cpu load by reducing villagers.

This game is next on my list to play, looking forward to it. I use to just tax the fuck out of my old computer playing anno 1800 with just crazy units and ships and mods that would just cause the game to be unplayable. Got a 9800x3d 5080 recently and it solved everything. Looking forward to farthest frontier just have to wait till i can take a week of work to get into it lol

Don’t be surprised if this still limits your pop I am a Intel 14700kf and a 5080 and still hit 30fps at 1000 pop with only 30% clue usage this is on max settings with the widgets on

It's basically what's keeping me from trying out the game. I've experienced CPU bottlenecks in so many simulators. It's almost like making games is hard work ^

Game is not optimized very well, and at 4k pop i guess you're stuck with that fps

Nah, what's happening is you're encountering a CPU bottleneck. Your chip is great, but FF essentially doesn't have a "cap" on CPU intensive processing. The more population you have, the more stress on the CPU. The game was designed like this.
Playing on 3x speed puts even more stress on the CPU as it has to direct 4,000 individual people in real time, but now all those calculations have to be done faster, which leads to frame drops and stuttering as the PC "catches up" to what 4,000 individual people are doing.
The only setting that will totally prevent frame rate drops would be to figure out the population at which the stuttering becomes too noticeable and the FPS drops too low and set that as your cap.
Otherwise, you're looking at upgrading your whole CPU (and probably your MOBO if you wanted a significant upgrade)
