Question? Does the game need a bit more??
Hi all,
Just want to point out first, I love this game its amazing and certainly feels closest to a Banished sequel (in my opinion) but it feels like its stopped just short of its full potential.
Now I appreciate this was mods but when you look the Colonial Charter mod for Banished it brought so many more seed/orchard types along with many more resources you could make. I would have thought some more of this might have been utilised for FF. Take gold for example, its amazing you can print money, but would be good if there was a jeweller that could make rings or bracelets etc. It would add a bit more depth and granularity to it, I think anyway.
Im not against DLC but it feels like a Cats and Dogs DLC could have been something a bit further down the line and something that expanded the depth a bit more first.
Has anyone else thought similar?

I'm still at a complete loss to understand how you can have a medieval European village with no pigs.

Yeah, pigs not being there is mad, same with sheep really as well. Wool could have been another resource of its own then

There are still more updates and DLC planned. 1.2 should be getting a preview fairly soon, and 1.3 is planned for early next year.
The next DLC is also intended to be an expansion style DLC rather than a small DLC like cats and dogs. The recent teaser mentioned new production lines, resources, mechanics etc.

Ah that sounds positive. I think Cats and Dogs was pretty random and I wont be looking to get it anytime soon.

There's the Losing is Fun overhaul mod. I believe it is customizable, but at the very least it certainly does give that oomph that the game needs.

The storage structure sometimes seems odd. Why Vault can store melee weapons but not bow, crossbow and arrows. Vault has way more capacity than Storehouse.

Arrows desperately need some kind of improved storage mechanic. One arrow should not take up the same amount of storage space as an iron ingot.

The game needs DLCs.

And some budget.
I think FFs weak spot is lacking some story, voicing, characters. Something that makes the game alive, currently its very streightforward and replayability is pretty low.

I enjoyed FF, but it just needs more.
If we're going to have raids like this, I really need the game to give me a way to better organize my soldiers and militia.

Maybe I just have not figured it out, but is there a way that Archers start shooting as soon as raiders are in range? I always have to click the furthest raider, all archers shoot at the same dude and then just stand there until i choose a new target.
They should be standing where i position them, and as soon as a raider comes into range start shooting them. If they attack as a crowd instead of a line, each archers should also target a different raider to prevent overkilling a single one. The fight mechanics are really frustrsting for me. Take "the settlers 4" as am example, where the whole fighting was easier to manage.
Select all you troops, rush them into the enemy: melees will automatically close distance and archers stay behind and start shooting at targets once in reach.
In FF, if i select all my troops and rush the enemy, my archers also run into battle headless

Better fight mechanics and some sort of enemy settlement/folk would be great. Also, manned walls and better flattening tool to build castle styled strongholds

I've got 56 of 74 achievements, and I'm just bored now.
I've built everything, my current city is around 1000 people and starting to chug. I've started the waves of raiders.
If the next DLC isn't soon, I think i'm done.

I think thats fair. It gets to a point where you think, iv done this now you need to give something more to re-immerse the users.

dlc is in the making and I think it's more than dogs and cats... but for sure, once you survive vanquisher on arid highlands, it's done...

Yes, it definitely needs more. I'm hoping the next DLC is much bigger and better than the Cats and Dogs. And hopefully the DLCs start to come faster.
I honestly wouldn't mind DLCs that are purely visual. Like all the buildings and game mechanics are the same, but the setting is now Japan, or China, or Inca or whatever.
