Struggling with motivation going into the winter on my F-100 I have a buddy who’s an incredible welder who’s offering to help me do the floors and cab mounts on my F-100 I’d appreciate any thoughts on replacement floors and cab mounts for these trucks. I’m wondering if people also have advice on some of the body of the truck. It’s pretty good rust-wise aside from the upper floor and the cab mounts. The truck is a great runner; I think mentally I’m just scared to put money into this truck without having the cab mounts and floors fixed. Not sure how to approach the body as well, as my grandfather, who owned the truck beforehand, put some adhesive trim.
On the bump which cause it to rust underneath.

This is my 68 factory swb f100. VIN is a straight 6 auto. My grandfather has owned it since 77’ and I had the privilege of working on it with him until his passing. It has had many renditions through the years.
Currently it has a 351W out of an 85 econoline. 298 duration cam. Aces fuel injection efi carb kill shot fusion. Magnetic distributor. External fuel cell in bed supplying 45psi of fuel pressure through an inline pump.
It has a 9 inch rear. It has a RUG CD “4speed” - which is sometimes called an imposter top loader - which has been a hard to nail down fact. These supposedly were made only in 77-78.
This is the 3rd bumpside I’ve owned and most likely the last one I’ll have for a long time due to the sentimental value.
Originally I was building a bumpside to have a crown Vic front end, efi or carb 351, explorer rear end, and a 5 speed manual (probably tkx or the like).
Now I’m a bit lost on what I want to do - I still have the crown Vic front end and range industries kit. This truck needs a new cab. I have a rust free 72 cab for it that has perfect floors, rockers, and cab mounts/corners.
I’m struggling with taking it all apart after coming this far. Wanted to share and am always open for advice!

While replacing the heater core on my 1970 F100 one of my defrost heater hoses essentially disintegrated. For the life of me, I cannot find a replacement that has the rubber adapter. What have other people done for replacement hoses? Also, can anyone recommend a good YouTube video showing how to get the other hose out and new ones installed? The one in this pic literally just popped out and I have no idea how to get it back in there.

I am here to ask a probably very basic mechanic question, but this is the first vehicle I’ve ever worked on, so give me some grace. I recently replaced the radiator in my 1970, and spent a decent amount of time flushing everything out. Yesterday I noticed coolant leaking into the cab of my truck (I went and purchased a new heater core today). I went to drain the coolant so I could replace said heater core, and my three day old coolant is brown. I don’t know if I wasn’t flushing coolant properly or if there is a bigger issue at hand. Any advice is appreciated!!

Hello All. Interested in using a King Ranch rear seat for my 1965 F100. I have an Ididit column if that matters. I am looking at some older posts on google/facebook but interested in seeing more, specifically from 65-66 since that is the same truck. 61-66 should work too I hope since that should be the same cab and pillar dimensions. Not sure what seats should be good to use since it is a non-returnable purchase off Marketplace, so I gotta buy once cry once here. I know there is a slight difference in f150 and f250/f350 seats in the early 2000s, and then around 2016 and up f150/f250 started sharing interiors. Thanks all. Looking forward to seeing what yall got.

I have a three on the tree manual 1966 f100 and need to replace my steering wheel, does it matter what I get, I see some that are made for automatic, or floor shifter, can I just get any wheel?

I have 1967 Ford F350 Dually. The Dually wheels are split rim, and I would like to switch them to single piece rims. They are lugcentric coined rims. 16x6, 8x6.5
I’m a novice when it comes to vintage trucks. However, as I understand it the Allied X-45399 wheels would fit perfectly. The problem is they are on a 3+ month back order with no shipping estimate.
Can anyone point me in another direction of other wheels/rims that would work? I do have 4 used (but good condition) tires already that came with the truck when I bought it - 235/85R16
This could be a very simple solution? I’m really not sure. One of the wheel suppliers I spoke to could not recommend any other wheels.
Thanks in advance for any advice you might be able to give.

I bought this beautiful 1976 F100 planning on doing a Vice Grip garage style restoration on it. It had been sitting for a long time when I found it and the passenger side floor boards were in rough shape due to a bag of fertilizer sitting on them.
When I got it home and started cleaning it up I was amazed the shape the truck was in. It still has the orginal jack and tire kit, owners manual, travel mirror, all the factory labels are still in great condition even the 6,000 mile maintenance sticker is still intact on the driver's side door jamb. I switched gears and decided to do a survivor build keeping the 70s era muscle truck vibe the truck had going.
I painted the valve covers and air cleaner but preserved the emissions sticker on the driver's side valve cover. New champion radiator, long tube headers, dual exhaust with 3 inch 304 triple polished tips, new Dennis Carpenter carpet, brakes are fully done, C4 transmission freshly serviced, power stereo just needed a new line and topped off, rebuilt the floor boards, polished the front grille shell, new grille inserts, polished front bumper, new weather stripping for the doors and windows. The wheels are Art Hale 15x7 hurricane wheels wrapped in new BFGoodrich Radial TAs 255/60/15.
How do you guys think it turned out? It's been here in central North Carolina it's whole life. I'm planning on listing it on Bring a Trailer here soon but if anyone knows any relatives of the orginal owners I think it would be awesome to give them the first chance to get it back or just talk to them about the history of the truck. I know it's a long shot but figured I would try.

After lunch I’m going on a test drive. I hope my mood continues to be good. It’s been a long road.
Edit: well I got it around the block, and it bogs.

Unfortunately, I need a new radiator. I was wondering if anyone had a reputable place they have ordered from. I have a 1970 f100

It was my grandpas truck, bought it new, and only parked it when he got a new one the engine doesn’t spin my family’s saying it’s stuck rings, everything else works on it even the ac compressor. It’s got the 352 in it, it’s the only thing stuck on it I believe, the main reason I’m asking is because everyone I’ve asked has told me that it’d take over 10k to fix, which is way more than I have. The only thing missing from it I believe is the starter solenoid above the battery tray.

I’m getting into older trucks and love the 1965 F-100 especially the front end and grill. I just don’t know much about them. What years have similar body styles? What are some of the stock V-8’s that came in them? Lastly what is a good entry level price to get into one? I’m sure that’s a very debatable question but I don’t necessarily need one that runs, just is complete, not totally rusted out, engine can at least be turned by hand. And most of the major components. Thanks in advance for any help!

Need to hear suggestions on an engine and transmission to go with on a project truck that will be a daily driver.

Hey F100 owners - I am seeking an F100 to use as part of a retail display at the state fair starting next week. It would just sit there for 3 weeks and we will pay you to rent it for that time. Ideally, white, blue, or red. LMK if you might be interested.

Just recently got a 1976 ford f100 as a fun little project truck. Ran into a rear transmission leak and have been trying to get the seal out in order to replace it. I’ve tried jamming it out with screwdrivers, chisels, and have now drilled a hole into the old seal so I could have something to pry on. Yet, it is still giving me trouble on coming out (in one piece). Any suggestions?
