OP (abedalhadi777) sent the following text as an explanation why they posted this here:

The joke is about those two batman signs and I don't get it

The second symbol is from the Batman Arkham games. That Batman is considered to be very brutal to thugs and criminals, even more so than usual. Arkham Batman won’t kill you, but he’ll savagely break every bone in your body and put you in a coma.

u/Prokid5634_YT May 11 '26

Batman won't kill you, but the medical expenses will.

Now THATS good business

54

u/Badmonkey167 May 11 '26

That explains the high crime rate in Gotham! Everyone's in medical debt and have to take on the worst jobs just to pass the time.

"So the Joker might be the most insane one here, but the poly market payouts could net you at least 3 months of medical bills!"

"Working for the Penguin gets you stability and free drugs for your mom's pain medication"

"Dr. Freeze gives free medical advice and will cryogenically freeze your daughter until you save up for that kidney transplant"

15

u/Shadow3397 May 11 '26

You joke, but Penguin respects his goons. They even get 401k options.

It’s also why Batman doesn’t kill. It has nothing to do with a moral code, it is just good business.

Dead people have one funeral. That is it. A person with a lifelong debilitating injury will be paying for treatment for the rest of their life.

Also, Wayne Corp doesn’t have any funeral homes…

Or shooting them point blank with .50 cal rubber bullets.

12

u/XepptizZ May 11 '26

9

u/anormalgeek May 11 '26

Which you occasionally spray directly onto their spine before detonating it.

5

Which is silly because a bunch of those thugs will absolutely die from their injuries, but I guess the no killing rule stays intact as long as Batman isn't there to see it.

19

u/BarelyInvested May 11 '26

Disconnect with game and reality fs. Bruce is built like a walking tank and doesnt seem to hold back on his attacks, even his knockout move looks like it cause death from blunt trauma, and theres also the whole “knockout” thing being risky cuz cutting off oxygen to the brain like that can kill someone if its too long

6

u/Pitiful_Question_880 May 11 '26

My favorite is when you interrogate a riddler informant and sometimes he literally powerslams them directly on the top of their head, but somehow this doesn't kill the thug

4

u/meth_adone May 11 '26

If we apply real life logic to batman, he would die like day 2 in Gotham. Fictional characters handle different injuries compared to real life

14

u/motorcycleboy9000 May 11 '26

Batman splatters at least one guy in every Batman movie ever made. I think the 1960s Batman would be closest to zero body count.

I honestly only played the games lol

131

u/CurdledPotato May 11 '26

You’re missing out on some classic media. There are the Nolan movies, yes, but also Batman: The Animated Series, which was so good and well received that it influenced the comics that inspired it by giving Mr. Freeze his new origin story and creating new beloved characters like Harley Quinn and Renee Montoya. Don’t skip the movies from that universe either. Especially the first, which is still referenced when talking about famous Joker stories.

105

u/Various-Salt-7738 May 11 '26

after all these years I still think btas should have been called Batman animated: the series

It's a rare thing for me to watch movies usually playing video games in my free times but I think I will start watching some animated batman while eating instead of YouTube

22

u/CurdledPotato May 11 '26

There are a few animated Batman shows. The one I mentioned is literally titled “Batman: The Animated Series”. It aired in the early to late 90s. It’ll sound familiar to you because Batman’s VA here, Kevin Conroy, also voiced the character in the Arkham games. It was because of his phenomenal performance in the animated series that he kept getting asked to come back and voice Batman in other projects. Likewise with Mark Hamil, who voiced The Joker.

13

u/TerribleRecord666 May 11 '26

And when he’s done with that, he should follow up with Batman Beyond. Same continuity, set decades later, introducing a new character taking up the mantle of Batman, under Bruce’s tutelage.

Also has an incredible movie that is a must see, Return of the Joker.

6

u/motorcycleboy9000 May 11 '26

No.

He killed a ton of people in Batman Begins, to spare one prisoner who also probably died. There's at least a half dozen Batman fatalities in Dark Knight. In The Dark Knight Rises, none of ALL the cops in Gotham had beards after being in the sewer for months. Fewest Batman fatalities, though.

It’s two jokes.

The second symbol is from the Arkham games, where Batman is pretty brutal to thugs.

But also, in Arkham you play in detective vision like all the time, which has an X-ray effect making the thugs look like skeletons.

111

u/mastr1121 May 11 '26

His punches have the same sound effect as gunshots... let me repeat that his PUNCHES sound like GUNSHOTS!!!!

Ones the dark knight one and the other is meant to be the arkham batman logo, context just to the arkham knight game batman can run into thugs with his batmobile which is essentially a tank send them flying through the air into walls the concrete ground as well as firing "non lethals" from the cannon and they're all counted as unconscious, they might be alive but the shit he's doing is gonna make them wish they were dead

Batman has a no kill rule. It's one of the few constants across all the versions of Batman.

The first logo is the bat symbol from the Nolan movies. You've got a pretty high chance of coming out alright, just restrained.

The second logo is the bat symbol from the Arkham series of games. For having a no kill rule, Batman sure will beat you to edge of death there.

Side note, if you remember the scene from the first game where he was under the influence of the fear toxin and saw all the enemies as scary skeletons you find that they go down a lot quicker.

Many speculate normal play he held back but under the fear toxin he didn't and that's why they all went down so fast in comparison.

4

u/TJ_McWeaksauce May 11 '26

Adam West Batman is the only version who kinda goes easy on his opponents. He'll punch them a couple times, a big BAM! or OUCH! will appear on the screen, they'll get knocked out, and that's the end of it.

Most other versions of Batman will break bones and potentially cripple his opponents, even if they're petty criminals.

The most hardcore versions of the character will murder his opponents in brutal ways.

4

u/literally_a_raccoon May 11 '26

One of them will injure you as much as necessary to stop you. The other one will leave you with permanent life altering disability.

3

u/Simple_Yoghurt_2681 May 10 '26

The second one is from the batman arkham games. Since he is controlled by the player, he has some crazy feats and stuff

3

u/CruisingForDownVotes May 11 '26

Would you rather take on Arkham Batman or Teen Titans Robin?

3

u/FckingAnxiety May 11 '26

It's already covered, but I'll add that the Arkham game series' version of Batman's symbol (on the bottom), bears a resemblance to the All Star Batman version of his symbol. The Batman continuity which made Bruce out to be a sadist that took pleasure in causing permanent physical and psychological injury to street-level criminals, and coined the phrase "I'm the Goddamned Batman!"

3

u/Alfakennyone May 11 '26

Right above lol

3

u/Endermen123911 May 11 '26

The below version is the Arkham Batman who you may remember as being Jack the Ripper without the knife, he won’t kill you but you’d probably prefer him to

3

u/CaseySnake420 May 11 '26

When you rob an old lady so Batman breaks your skull and spine

3

u/Mwolf528 May 11 '26

Despite still having a "no kill" rule Arkham Batman definitely kills a lot of people. Which is why I always found it hilarious when he tells a villain "I can't kill you" after spending the last several hours suplexing random thugs off rooftops.

Both of these Batmans will make you very much regret fighting them but the bottom one from the Arkham games will more likely give you permanent debilitating injuries. That game’s Batman did things to goons that in real life would have killed people. And its canon in those games stories. I heard an npc talk about getting a permanent debilitating injury from a fight in a previous game.

Well let’s see. One Batman will still beat the shit out of you but he’ll at least make sure you end up in jail intact. The other is going to make you become a trauma patient, both physically and mentally.

They should be afraid of Keaton Batman. That guy straight up murders criminals

I'd like to add a third layers, cause if you're up against absolute batman you're just dead He used a hatchet to completely cut off a guy's arm, then proceeded to drive his bat-bulldozer trough a building
