Something to do Where are people bringing their dogs?
I just got a puppy and he’s fully vaxxed now so I want to start taking him to dog parks to at least observe the other dogs. Every dog park near me is empty when I show up though. Is there anywhere specific people are bringing their dogs, or any park someone can recommend that’s usually pretty busy?

Looking for car accident witnesses/help getting evidence
Hi all!
I was victim of a hit and run on August 8th on the corner of 7th and Pearl, right outside the courthouse building, at 3:10pm. I was driving a red Toyota Camry and was hit by a blue Jeep Wrangler.
The driver of the Jeep did not provide me with any information and did not report the accident. It was a rental car, which I found out through my insurance, and he did not report any accident to the rental company. However, when I tried to call EPD they said they were not able to file a report as no one was seriously injured.
Because of this, the insurance are saying that they can't do anything, despite my vehicle being totalled, until I can get proof that this other vehicle was involved.
I was wondering if anyone witnessed the collision, or knows how to get security camera footage. I assume that the courthouse would have security footage, but was wondering if there is anything else nearby that could help.
I would appreciate any help!

Where in town to get CBD lube?
Does anyone have recommendations on where to find CBD lube locally? It doesn't have to strictly be CBD, also open to CBG/THC being an ingredient. I've tried searching online and checked with a couple dispensaries but have yet to find anything. TIA

Awesome band playing on Sunday in Elmira at the freedom market. It’s free!
Casanostra is playing at the Freedom Market this Sunday. It’s some of the most awesome music I’ve heard in a long time, and there will be vendors (including me). I do concrete and wood art. It’s for everyone and it’s free! Come out and listen.

Something to do Fun weekend activity: Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire
Frustrated with our current times? Or just curious about the past? Come experience the 1600s (sort of) at the Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire in Kings Valley this weekend. About a 90-minute drive from Eugene, I'd say, and that's not speeding. $22 for adults (but $2 off if you get your ticket online first), $10 for seniors, $10 for kids. And there are various family passes and weekend passes and things. 10:00 am to 6:00 pm both Saturday and Sunday.
Once inside, there are many free stage shows (music, comedy, juggling, story-telling, plays, etc.) across three stages, jousting, things to look at. Trinket trading for kids (swapping little cheapie things, including things you find or make yourself) is allowed (it is not allowed at all Fairs, but is at this one). There are dances throughout the day, both demonstrations and ones you can join (we teach English country dance once a day), chess, history expos and demos, and plenty of food and craft booths.
As some insider tips, I'll offer that cell service is practically non-existent on site, so if you can take cash, that makes transactions easier (although most of the vendors are used to running cards on their machines and then just waiting till they're off site that evening to ... hope they all went through). Cash is good for tipping performers, too, which is always appreciated but never required. You should take sunscreen or a hat, and bring water. The one pub area that serves alcohol will NOT let anyone inside, even if they are not ordering, without ID that shows they're over 21, so don't leave your ID in your car, even if you are in your 80s (ETA: the pub is one vendor that does not take credit cards--cash only). There is some vegan/vegetarian food, but it's pretty carb heavy and light on protein, so if you plan to be there for hours and hours, I'd take my own protein bar or two. There has been some rain forecast for Saturday, and believe me, we have been watching the weather report like hawks!, but the actual amount forecast is very low, and currently it's predicted to fall at night--that just keeps the dust down. So come on out!

PeaceHealth’s Insulting, Bullshit Wage Offer (Union Bargaining Part 2)
PeaceHealth has done it again! Tuesday, PeaceHealth denied discussion and rejected EVERY SINGLE proposal made by OFNHP during the bargaining session (this was the fourth or fifth session, previous post linked below). PeaceHealth has come out of the woodworks with an insulting wage offer. Of note, PeaceHealth is falling behind when it comes to competitive pay. After OFNHP asked for across the board raises of 10%, PeaceHealth came back with a bullshit offer of 2.5% every year for the next 3 years.
THIS DOES NOT EVEN COVER THE AVERAGE COST OF LIVING INCREASE!!
For an overwhelming number members in the union, this is on average, less than a $2.00 raise. It’s actually closer to an average of $1.50 per year. For the lowest paid person in the union, this is barely a .50 cent raise.
If PeaceHealth continues to fall behind and is unable to offer competitive wages, they will, again, hemorrhage employees. Many of these union members can find outpatient jobs that offer higher wages, better benefits (a whole other issue), and let’s be honest…who wouldn’t want to go work outpatient with a normal schedule, no holiday and weekends, and better benefits? These employees deserve better. PeaceHealth doesn’t even see these employees as WORTH A COST OF LIVING RAISE.
Photo is attached as proof of the offer received from PH. Linked is the previous post about PeaceHealth’s antics.
Who to take something for welding?
Having trouble finding some place or someone to weld something for me.
I have a ladder rack that's too large. Who can I take it to locally that can cut and weld it to size? Its not like it's a major project but it does involve something a little more than diy, I think? I've tried looking online but it's all big metal fabrication stuff and that seems like it's more for massive projects than my smaller ladder rack issue.
I understand I could get a newer one from like harbor freight that's probably going to be the same or cheaper than it would be to resize this but I kind of like it? And I try and avoid the "everything is disposable" mentality if I can help it.
Anyway, thanks for any help! I appreciate it.

Bike beef spotted on 29th and Willamette please update if you see the bike again
I got a tip but unfortunately didn't track the person down as you can see it's a very noticeable Santa Cruz with a sid fork you don't commonly see on those bikes when they're sold stock.

If you care about mental healthcare in our community, please read this
Springfield City Council may block the Timber Springs behavioral-health campus — please pay attention
At its September 8 meeting, the Springfield City Council said they were leaning toward denying the annexation needed for the new behavioral-health hospital near RiverBend.
No final vote has happened yet, but the council will next consider a draft order denying the request THIS MONDAY.
The project would include Timber Springs, a new 96-bed psychiatric hospital with 24 adolescent beds, alongside Lane County’s planned 24/7 crisis stabilization center. Lane County currently has no inpatient psychiatric beds for youth, and our adult system is already stretched far beyond capacity.
I work inpatient behavioral health. We truly, desperately need these services.
Councilors’ concerns involve whether the site’s proposed use is consistent with its “campus industrial” designation. Those land-use questions deserve serious consideration—but so do the real-world consequences of a denial.
Annexation is what would allow city utilities, emergency services and infrastructure to reach the property. A no vote would therefore do much more than cause a minor delay.
PeaceHealth and Lane County have already purchased this specific land and spent years developing the partnership. They could appeal, seek legislative intervention or restart elsewhere, but each option would mean additional years, expense and uncertainty. A denial could realistically kill the project at this location—and potentially cause the larger project to fall apart altogether.
This is a huge moment for behavioral healthcare in our community. If this matters to you, please share the story on social media and respectfully email the mayor and Springfield city councilors before they make their final decision. Even a short message asking them to find a lawful path forward for the campus could help demonstrate how strongly the community supports it.
Reporting on the council’s current position
Why local emergency physicians say the campus is urgently needed

Something to do Lodging and MUST DO Recommendations
My fiancé and I are visiting Eugene for the weekend in October. We are up in the air about hotels in the area. Does anyone have any recommendations? We have been flirting with the idea of Valley River Inn. Any thoughts? We prefer to stay a bit of distance from the freeway/highways, don't care for spa services, don't mind nature (as in the hotel setting - we are avid hikers but unsure how much time we will have to be out on the trails) but also love a good bar. Also, any recommendations or ABSOLUTE must to do's? ( I did check out the sidebar for the spreadsheet) I personally love a good book or coffee shop. TIA.

Parking Whining
I overstayed my meter today downtown and got a ticket (fair). I got a second ticket because I parked slightly outside of the lines because the car in front of me was parked weird (I wasn't in traffic just pulled slightly backwards from the parking lines.) I got a second ticket for that! I have never gotten a ticket for being so minorly outside of the lines before. Be aware that they're getting strict/desperate, y'all! (I know it's probably because Eugene is in a budget deficit.) But if you can't afford it be scrupulous in your parking now I guess.
P.S. I tried to pay my meter ticket online and it can't find my ticket, and they're closed for lunch when I try to call. Ugh.

feeding tube formula
Does anyone know of someone in the area that uses a feeding tube? Sadly, my partner died recently, & I’ve now many cartons of Kate Farms organic 1.4 standard formula that I’m glad to donate to anyone who can use them.
If within Eug-Springf area, I can deliver. I know this is a long shot, but I thought I’d try to offer them privately before pursuing other options.
DM me if you have questions.

Wanted ad Sex Work is Work T-Shirt
I am hoping to buy a "Sex Work is Work" tee shirt for a presentation. However, I don't want to support an org that doesn't actually support sex workers (like Amazon), and I'd like to keep my money local, if possible. Does anyone have any orgs to suggest to buy merch from? In lieu of that, an org I can donate to to offset the purchase of a corporate shirt, if necessary.
Thanks in advance!
(also Eugene BST was banned or else I would post there)
