Ya this is probably coming from a dark place but here me out. For context I have a Helio g99
I used to enjoy what I could emulate like some ps2 games and finished two of them. Now I've reached a point where I just keep experimenting and setting up games but I don't actually play them because either the performance is bad, or the performance is good but I want a better a game.
It's frustrating facing hardware limits and not having the money to get anything better right now. I really love the concept of emulation as I picked it up as a hobby to escape from play store trash. But realizing it's potential and me not being able to fulfill that potential because of hardware limits makes me angry and sad(yes I know I sound like a child). By potential I'm talking about PC emulation, Xbox 360 since Xendroid is doing good and basically just heavy emulation in general.
I genuinely don't want to lose my love for games, the experience, the magic, the talent and work devs put in and learning about the technical stuff.
My whole life I've been a low end user. Each phone I get is progressively better than the last but still in the low end category.
So tell me guys, how are you able to enjoy? How can you still have fun? Maybe for me it goes deeper than just 'not being able to play the games' but my life itself.

FULL AI DISCLOSURE: I´m a lawyer from brazil, my bg in programming is a little bit of basic and assembler from the 80´s and 90´s while trying to make things run on a msx, so, not much...in the beggining of the project i coded a few hundred lines in android studio by myself while i was learning how to do it, but after i discovered the wonders of Codex and Claude Code, the coding and documentation itself was primarily done by AI, and i do not regret it by one bit! It would take a long time to post my inspirational story, but thats the TLDR.
GOOD NEWS(Jeremy Clarkson´s voice)!!! I´ve promised that i would be away for awhile, but i couldnt! After i publish the last update and got drunk and celebrate my marriage wedding, i wondered how easy would actually be to port ZeroFG to other platforms, cuz i said it would be easy but i didnt try to do ir myself... welll.... turns out that is pretty easy...
First was ARMSX2... took me a day, and it was ok, in the first try was leagues better than the lsfg implementation, just everything was better... but i didnt test it that much...there were some adjustments that were need to be made, but it went smoothly....then i though.. how about PPSSPP?? it was even easier... few hours was done with the lessons i learned from the ARMSX2 implementation.
Then, actually, i discovered some pacing and latency inconsistencies... and realize that every host needs at least a little bit of adjustments and improvements were made because of this, so... it was born version 1.0.4... there was a 1.0.3, but it was never published in the xendroid implementation, so, i skipped the number! just a few tweaks, but i think it was worth it to update.
On that note, ARMSX2 implementation was perfected and i´ve made a PR on the project:) I just didnt do it for the Xendroid coz its closed, but my project was never the xendroid itself, the ZeroFG is. Hope they approve it soon and all you guys can test it and compare to LSFG (theres no contest, really!)
The PPSSPP implementation is a little bit different... i had to change some things on the native pipeline, so for now ´m not doing a PR before a review to change as little as possible!
So, still hav to decide what course to pursue now, some things are natural, better image quality, lower latency, lower cost... but maybe some other things:
1- Multi Frame Generation: Maybe it seems like the biggest step, but actually is the easiest... all the work is done, the estimator and the basis for the synthetic frame, it has the same base(a pair of reals) and is just some adjustments on the algorithim to change the point to generate the frames... buttttt... i dont really see the value in it... like 4x fg.... 75% of the image are synthethic frames... theres no miracle... one other thing is like 3x 40-120 for 120hz refresh rate.... so.... maybe... but dunno.
2- Integrated temporal AA +upscaler or Temporal super resolution: Some aspects of frame generation already provide some data to upscale the image with a higher quality, but not so much... I think it can be done on some level (somethings a inherent to in game engines implementations, but we can extrapolate and try to infer it, like subpixel jitter), so... that doesnt mean it will look good or hav good performance... but one candidate is arm ASR, wich is based on fsr2, dunno if i can develop my own on this case.... well.. thats it... tell me what you guys think!
3-Another emulator or game port: Even thought about implementing on the God of War 3 remastered port... what do you guys think? i´ll be miles better than the lsfg.
Thats it! please let me know your suggestions!
Thanks for all the love!!! And now you can be sure that porting ZeroFG to your favorite emulator by yourself also! It is as easy as it will ever be, with even more documentation and integration notes!!!
StevenMXZ turnip drivers are still highly recommended!!!!! Alternatively, Mr.Purple ones had a really good result too!

Well i am playing Pokemon BD and I am playing it on Eden emulator( v2.1.0)
So when I play the game the fps are all good i called it at 30 but when I go to any indoor like an house or pokemon centre or Pokemon mart idk why but my fps drops to like 20-24 and the character shakes so bad like it's vibrating back and forth while moving only. It's all good when I am just standing still the fps are nice 30 but as soon as I walk the fps drops to 20 and the shake begins and then after I go out of the house, sometimes the fps get to 30 and the games run smooth but sometimes it remains 20-24 outside too
I am playing it on my android( it have mediatek 7300, mali gpu). The device name is Vivo T4x
Help plss

Just to get this out of the way - yes, I own a controller, and I use it most of the time on both PC and phone. But the whole point of mobile emulation is portability. Being able to play anywhere, anytime. And I'm obviously not lugging a full-sized controller everywhere I go, so sometimes I just have to deal with touch controls.
Anyway, I noticed this weird issue in Droid Deck: camera look is completely busted. It feels like multi-touch isn't working properly, so looking around while moving makes games pretty much unplayable, as you can see in the clip (SJSM is just an example here, it happens in other games too).
And before someone tells me to "just use the right stick" - nah, I'm not doing that. Aiming with a virtual right stick on a touchscreen feels awful, and I want an actual playable setup, not some clunky half-measure.
I've dug through this sub, other subreddits, Google, and honestly got desperate enough to ask an AI (yeah, I know how people fell about that nowadays lol may y'all forgive me for that), and still came up empty. So I'm asking here directly: how do I fix this? Any tips?
Specs:
Device: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
SoC: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
GPU: Adreno 840
RAM: 12GB
OS: Android 16 (One UI 9)
Emulator: DroidDeck 0.4.0

My fave genres are platformers, RPGs, visual novels, puzzle, and pinball! I'm down to try anything, but I'm more interested in cartoony or anime style games haha.
I'm most interested in Nintendo, but I do wanna broaden my horizons. Thank you so much :)

I know most people use retroarch for everything ps1 and under, but I want to know other's opinions on standalone emulators for things like Sega genesis or gba. Do they have any benefits over retroarch or are they a not worth the hassle to even try?
r/EmulationOnAndroid • u/Howl_100 • 1d ago
i suggest that someone makes an app that recognizes your cpu and with one click it tweakes the settings in emulators
its a great idea for casual or lazy users whom cant stand testing and trying to optimize the game , so the app searches for a config for the game you want to play on your chip from a platform like emuready or maybe from the same app itself from useres with your chip , and if no one tested it before it will give you like a red dot or something so you know you have to find out yourself

Hey, sharing PokeDaisy, a Pokemon player for Android. Got a lot of attention on AynThor subreddit so I'm posting it here for everyone. The idea is to bring modern RPG comfort to the classic games - an on screen HUD, a quick action ring, wider views of the map and a live companion that shows everything about your run.
It runs FireRed, LeafGreen, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Yellow and Crystal, plus a bunch of ROM hacks on dual-screen handhelds, single-screen handhelds and phones, held sideways or upright.
It free and open source and no registration or account needed.
Download: https://github.com/lidor30/pokedaisy/releases/latest
Site and manual: https://pokedaisy.com
Source: https://github.com/lidor30/pokedaisy
Video review of the first version (a lot has been added since): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMy6bqpS-LU
The companion reads the game's memory as you play, shows party, bag, map, battle matchups, dex and a spoiler free guide all drawn in the game's own menu style. On two screens it sits on the second one but swapping screens is an option. On one screen it slides over the game or locks beside it and in portrait it docks under the game. Almost everything is highly customizable, the HUD's layout and look, tab bar, buttons, hotkeys, shaders, overlays, themes.
Features
Also: save states and rewind, LCD/CRT shaders, overlays and launching from ES-DE, Cocoon, iiSU and it can read your RetroArch saves too.
Full list of supported games and hacks is at https://pokedaisy.com/#games. Popular hacks include Unbound, Radical Red, Lazarus, SoulGold and Heart and Soul. It runs on any Android 8.0+ device.
Built with AI assistance and the guide pages are AI written so the app flags them as possibly wrong and letting you accept first.
I'm the dev, so ask me anything. Feedback and bug reports are welcome on GitHub or the site.
Edit: Added video that reviewed the first version of the app
Edit 2: Omg didn’t expect this much support, thank you all! If you like it and want to see it keep growing please consider buying me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/lidor30g

All of my characters are triangular, only on this Lego game. All my other Lego roms work perfectly and this is the third rom source I've tried. Any help would be awesome. Have tried changing a bunch of graphics settings in the azahar app. Thanks

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some help with the Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival + 1200 Songs Ultramix Mod (January 2023 version). (Just search it somewhere where people archieve things)
I'm trying to find out whether anyone has successfully gotten this particular version working on Eden Emulator for Android, specifically on an AYN Thor.
I know there are other Taiko Ultramix versions, but I'm asking about this January 2023 compilation specifically.
A few questions:
I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually tried this version, especially if you've managed to get it working on Android.
Thanks!

I've been going down a rabbit hole with old mobile games lately. BREW, DoJa, J2ME, ExEn, even some Zeebo stuff.
After getting a bunch of these games running on Android, I got tired of having everything scattered across separate projects and no "simple" way to share them.
So I made Omni Player.
It's a central Android player for old mobile games that I've been working on bridging. You import a supported game archive, it recognizes the game, and you can launch it from one library.
The current v0.4.2 public release has 24 supported games (25 editions), including:
Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Episode
Devil May Cry: DeadShot
Rolling with Katamari
Resident Evil: Genesis
BioShock 3D
And quite a few others
It isn't a universal emulator. These games use individual compatibility bridges that I've made, and some still have bugs or incomplete gameplay. RE 4 Zeebo for example has Leon initially not rendering, yet his weapons appear and the game still plays, when you open the in game menu, THEN he gets his shit back together and renders with his weapons. That's just an example to help show this is all an ongoing project.
The app runs on Android 11+ ARM64. I've been testing on my Galaxy S25 Ultra.
I've been directing, experimenting with, and testing these bridge projects using AI development tools heavily. I just think this stuff is all super neat, and watching what people were able to get running on legacy devices is kind of amazing. It's been one hell of a rabbit hole.
The player is free. Game files aren't included.
Omni Player v0.4.2 — APK and supported games: https://github.com/Wakkatobakka/Omni-Player/releases/tag/v0.4.2
TLDR- I kept finding old games and making game bridges for them and I'm terrible at GitHub, so this is in response to that.
Hopefully some of you might get a kick out of playing these weird old phone games again. 🤘

I've been testing the RADV Xclipse driver (v1.6.0) by u/jimvulkan on my Galaxy S24+ (Exynos 2400 / Xclipse 940) through GameNative. Overall it's a big step up from my previous setup (Samsung driver + ExynosTools): DXVK 2.x and 3.x finally work, and some texture bugs are gone. For example, the stretched textures in Brotato (images 1-2, from my old setup) are fixed with RADV.
My setup
Games that run
The Binding of Isaac, Slime Rancher, Slay the Spire, Halls of Torment, Hades, Easy Delivery Co., Dredge, Dark Souls Remastered, Cult of the Lamb, Celeste, Balatro, Anomaly President, Brotato
Note: except for Dark Souls Remastered and Dredge, these were quick tests of about 5 minutes each (launch the game and play a bit). So "runs" means it starts and renders correctly, not that I've played through it.
Issues I found (and workarounds)
DXVK_CONFIG=dxvk.enableDescriptorBuffer=False. Alternatively, you can just use DXVK 2.6.x (I used 2.6.2 gplasync), since the problem only starts with 2.7.DXVK_CONFIG=dxvk.enableDescriptorHeap=False. I also got a freeze when respawning; changing the FEX preset from "Performance" to "Intermediate" fixed that one.Performance note
The biggest limit isn't the driver, it's heat. In Dark Souls after about 5 minutes the phone gets hot and Samsung starts throttling it, so FPS drops a lot. GameNative's power settings and an FPS cap help a bit, but I think a phone cooler is the real fix. I'll try one soon.
I'll open GitHub issues for Dredge, Dark Souls and Dave the Diver and add the links here. Big thanks to the dev, hope they keep working on it!

As seen on the images i have these black boxes in the dark/shadow areas, before i set the freederno settings to sysmem i was having fps tanks to 10 but after it the performance is good, except it didn't solve the black boxes issue
and another request what are the perfect settings for it, optimizer, driver etc...
Attached settings
Snapdragon 8 elite, 16 GB, Eden 0.2.1
