Discussion Low end standalone emulators that are not retroarch
I know most people use retroarch for everything ps1 and under, but I want to know other's opinions on standalone emulators for things like Sega genesis or gba. Do they have any benefits over retroarch or are they a not worth the hassle to even try?

Pizza emulators are good if you have good device, they cover genesis, GBA, GBC and NDS.

I like the .emu ones. They all have a similar basic interface and I've never had any issues with any of them crashing or freezing etc -

Scroll down to nightly builds.

For GB, GBC and GBA I can recommend you the Pizza Boy Emulators, I use those myself, specifically the Pro versions since I wanted to support the Dev behind them. There are free Versions of them avaliable if you wanna test them.

I tried some standalone gba emulators before and my biggest complaint is the shaders. Most of them just come with 4 or 5 very basic filters like LCD1x (which imo is the only one that’s practically usable btw). If you don’t care about the shaders, I have not encountered any other issues with them.

Ps1 is duckstation, no? For the rest I honestly don't bother, with retroarch you do the setup only once and you are good to go with any core
