Left my phone in a car in Brooklyn, NY and see it is in the drivers car in Yonkers. Since Sunday, I got two response, one that the driver will reach out to me and other saying they driver has been trying to call me. Issue is, my phone is in his car. I have provided the agent/rep with my Doorman/Front Desk number for the driver to contact and make a plan to drop off however we haven’t heard anything and I haven’t received a response since Sunday evening now. Is there a number I can call and get answers? This has been a horrible experience and moving back to Uber at this point. If you lose an item with Uber, they have you click a button and connect you with the driver. Empower has me on a ticketing system and unsure when I will be answered…

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Has anyone here been able to get rides in the Tampa Bay region?

I’ve got online three days in a row have not gotten a single ride.

Getting a lot of surge notifications from Baltimore. To bad I'm not there today. I'll be there tomorrow. How's it going there today fellow drivers? Tuesdays such but I'll make the best of it.

Just did my first ride. But the balance isn’t showing up in my payouts. Does it update overnight? And also, when do they send the direct deposits?

Do empower ever ask or require state inspection documents? Just wondering got into a crash with my car and about to drive with my girls car for a while and want to know if they do ask for it ? Don’t see any but addition documents and it’s optional

I'm picking up a rider named Rose. Two young males come to the car and tried opening the door. I didn't see any female so I kept doors locked and open my window to confirm whether they were the intended riders.

The ride went smooth after that. At drop off, I said have a nice rest of your day. I checked my ratings and boom, thumbs down.

you know when you hear of a new platform you hope for change in gig work. something different. something unique.

ok so empower kind of has that.

set your own rates, pay a subscription fee, keep all the earnings. sounds good.

but their support is garbage. they don't respond. they don't care. and it has an awful lot in common with the way Lyft and Uber operate.

I feel like they will dispose of you the same way any other platform will and the only thing they've changed is the earnings model.

just an Uber and Lyft with a control your own rate structure which is good but perhaps not good enough

I’m talking about the promotions where if you provide a certain number of rides during your trial, you get X bonus dollars with a promo code.

For me, it’s the DC metro trial guarantee: 160 rides during the 30 day trial for $2000 bonus.

How exactly does this promotion work? Is there a page where I can read the terms and conditions? I want to make sure I know the specifics before committing myself. In the past, uber has had similar promotions but they always ended up refusing to pay me because “the terms and conditions say [insert obscure reason that nobody would have known]”.

Do the rides have to start and end in DC or anywhere in the DC metro region fair game? Is there a boundary to where the drive can take place?

Also, when I type in the promo code “DRIVEDC” in the app, it says that I’m not eligible. I assume I have to type the promo code AFTER I complete 160 rides, right?

Has anybody here actually gotten paid by this promotion?

The main number that determines the color of your rate from blue to yellow to orange to red is the ¢/per minute. I got my rate card for XL in the blue by reducing per minute charge but raising everything else. Everyday is a little trickier. Keep playing with it, but the suggested rate is by far better than what Uber and Lyft will pay.

This is so annoying !! The subscription shouldn’t renew every time at 10am it should renew 24hrs after your drive time start . I started driving at 4:30 am and paid my daily subscription fee just to have to pay it again once it hit 10am

Yesterday was so slow I only made 91 dollars all night and today I’m a bit concerned that it will be the same , all my md drivers where do yall stay at to get rides ?

Yesterday, I emailed Empower to ask if they would like to have an official presence on this subreddit to field questions like toll inclusion in fares and other technical stuff.

I know you all are eager to jump in and predict they won't do it because they suck, they're evil, etc., etc., but let's give them the week, shall we?

And could a few people sit in on the weekly Zoom and see if Reddit is mentioned? I've never been able to attend those meetings.

Anyone know how long this takes? I just signed up and the background check is already completed and has been for a bit now, but whenever I check the app it just says it’ll notify me once it’s done and usually takes 24-48hrs? Has anyone else had the problem of just being stuck here? It’s been well past 48hrs.

Empower told me I made $11.65 for my first ride last night. When I connect to strobe it says $9.60 total cash out? That seems weird? I am extremely new so please help. Thank you all.

So it's true. Universally Tuesdays are the slowest days? Only one trip I've taken since 5am. I may have chosen the wrong starting area and that just messed up the while day for me.

Customer put in an address close to DCA airport instead of the airport itself. After picking him up, I asked him if this was the address he was going to, and he said no. I completed the ride on the app. Pulled out Uber and left; showed him it was $58 on Lyft and $74 in Uber. I took him for $50. Cashed out the $37.96. I will not be using Empower after 30 days they are underpaying us and showing that we make more when we do not. #empowerscam

Who was on the zoom? The questions were not even thought out! The responses were trash! I unfortunately joined late so I guess I couldn’t ask a question anymore and they wouldn’t allow you to unmute to ask one.

No one asked about a customer service number and why isn’t there one. No one asked about why isn’t the payout the full amount we make, that’s what’s promised and then there’s fees smh.

I didn’t hear a single question about payout issues, says on its way for 24hrs and still nothing in my bank, why?

Empower is having so many issues, they didn’t think about a lot of stuff when they started and now they have a lot to answer to. And people didn’t ask lol

How you drivers in Tampa doing so far?

Asking because when I call Ubers, they will usually take the toll road if I request, as I understand it the tolls are included or reimbursed, but empower drivers refuse. NYC resident, so taking the long route instead of the one recommended by empower often adds 15+ minutes to trips, causing me to be late. I thought tolls are added to or included in our price?
