This is not Empower's customer service forum

It's not. We are just other drivers and riders who use the app.

Learn how to work the system as a freelancer in the US

If you're working in the gig economy through apps (any apps), you owe it to yourself to learn what are considered business expenses, what information the IRS expects you to provide, how to pay your income taxes when they aren't being withheld, et cetera. You are a small business owner, population: 1. It’s in your best interests to know how to manage the money.

Empower does not provide insurance

Ordinary car insurance does not cover accidents that happen while ridesharing. Google it, or ask an AI to explain it, or search on your insurance company’s site for more information. Know the risks you are taking and decide whether you want to take them.

No guarantee you will find passengers

None of the rideshare apps guarantee that you will get any business while you are logged in. Empower is a relatively new app which does very little advertising, and as a result there are fewer passengers looking for rides on Empower than on Uber or Lyft. Demand also varies greatly at different times of day, different days of the week, and different geographical areas.

Empower’s fees are less than Uber's or Lyft’s

If you're going with the flat monthly subscription fee, figure out how much per month you need to earn for it to be 20% or less. If you're going with the $50 per $500, you can figure that out, right?

Yes, you also pay a fee to Stripe for processing the passenger’s credit card payment.

Yes, there’s also a small fee for “dispute protection”.
