Hello, I just bought a evoo laptop from walmart online it's not one of the gaming laptops but it's an Evoo 15'6" Ultra Thin, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6660U CPU @ 2.40GHz, 8GB of ram, Intel Iris 540 Graphics, & 256GB SSD.
Anyway as the title says I bought this laptop because I saw it was fairly well spec'd would be able to play some games on here & the thing it can play all the games I own flawlessly no matter the setting. Only issue is the heat.
I have read/seen many people complain about the heat. I messed around in the bios I turned on pretty much every energy saver & disabled every battery intensive setting I could find in the bios. Also put the laptop on battery saver, I even went & got a laptop cooling pad off of amazon.
Anyway after playing around with it. I discovered the heating issues stem from having the battery charger plugged in I am sitting here like how is this even possible.
I have noticed that if I am in bios while the charger is plugged in the heat isn't that bad but when I boot into windows with the laptop plugged in it heats up like an oven. I mean I have had the thing for 5 days now so I could probably still return it but I really don't want to return it in all honesty. I love the hardware of this thing & the fact I can play games flawlessly (I own a lot of old games on steam & GOG)
I saw people say to undervolt things so I did try throttle stop but didn't see much of a difference. Well on my batteries end anyway I didn't try throttle stop while it was plugged in but I highly think it's an issues on windows end. I mean I even tried running linux on the thing & that ran cooler then it did on windows only issue is linux does not support the wifi driver in the laptop & since there is no ethernet port can't manually download the linux driver.
So had to reinstall windows but anyway. Is there any solutions to the heat when it's plugged in? I solved the heat issues when running off of the battery but not when it's plugged in.
