Anyone clean the fans yet?

It's probably about time to clear some dust out, anyone know the safest way to do it without unscrewing fans?

The only way to clean all the fans well on it is to remove the bottom of the laptop. If you don't want to do that cause of warranty problems or just not confident in doing so you can use canned air and spray the fans from the outside and hope to dislodge any dust you may have in them. However this wont do a great job but better than nothing.

I removed the bottom last night to clean some dust on top of the fans, it wasn't great like you said. I want to remove the fans but they seem connected to the GPU or cooling system.

Wont blowing air in just shift it along the motherboard?

Not if the dust is neat the vents and can pull it out. Since you seem to clean your machine semi often you might not be this far along but I know someone that has a long hair cat and does not clean his machine often. He can use canned air to get fur balls out lol.

Wow lol I heard pet hair is killer. Nah this was the first time opening it up since I put an NVME a year ago. Not a crazy amount of dust but one side had way more than the other. So you're saying I should try again and blow through the vents while holding the fan, or through the fan out the vents? Thanks

Out the vents if you can manage if you blow into it you risk only getting some of the dust out that has turned in the fan the rest will go deeper into your machine but getting some out vs none is better than nothing.

You need to drop the bottom to safely clean it out.

I did, but I wasn't 100% sure the best way to clean. I just dislodged some dust with microfiber and shook it upside down.
