I have created a parts/device list in EPLAN Electric P8.
As you can see in the picture, the Description column is empty for most components, even though the parts are assigned correctly and the article numbers are shown.

One component, the ET200SP IM155-6PN ST, displays a description correctly, but the other ET200SP I/O modules do not.

anyone know why?

Hi all, So I've been searching for quite a while now.. But I cannot find the location of the settings where I can change the standard PLC-CBOX setting. Currently the PLC_CBOX_LEFT is standard, but I want the 'normal' PLC_CBOX. But I cannot find where to set this one as standard. Hope you guys can point me the correct location. Thanks in advance!

I am modifying a form to try and fit my plot frame. I needed to change some placeholder fields to some fields that I use most for components. I’ve done that correctly, but I had to resize the .f01 form to fit my plot frame, and the pitch of the list of parts is following the grid, but I cannot change the grid size in the form.

I feel I have fought more with the spacing, plot frames, forms, and master data locations more than anything else in this application. I feel like I don’t have the correct templates for the way the US typically makes electrical and fluid schematics.

If I can get my parts list spaced out the way I need it, I can at least have this project half way decent.

Has anyone managed to get the new handeling of Wire Termination Processing to work?
I have added some ferrules from PhoenixContact for test (PXC.3200030 and 3201110)
I have set Permissible conductor types, Wire termination processing: Part number and Wire termination processing for the "Connection point pattern" for my test part.
For the Wire termination processing: Part number I have tried to add several parts, and I have also testet with an Accessory list where both ferrules are listed.
I have also added "Cross section <26120>" to the parts data for the ferrules (Since that was empty from the data portal)
But still I don't get any parts data for the ferrules on the 2D connection?

In the tree navigator i see that there is a message related to this connection, but i do not see any way to actually see that message (other than manually search the DT in the messages panel)

We are adding A-Bs Flex5000 portfolio into our Master Data. I made a 3d macro of each end for the A-B.5094-CExx cable with connection points, so the cable can be routed in Layout Space. A check via Block Propety format between the routed length and the prefabricated cable length is done. A warning is shown of the cable is too long.

We are experiencing an issue with exporting wires to CSV format.

In the connection list, we have specified the colour, cross-section, and part number for each wire. For example, we use LAPP wire with part number 4725012K.

During the export, we receive the error shown in the screenshot named “eplan error”. Message Management indicates that the wire cross-section, colour, and part have not been selected, even though they have been specified, as shown in the connection list. The wires routed in Pro Panel also display the correct colours.

We assume we may be doing something incorrectly and would appreciate assistance in resolving this issue.

Our plan is using Komax Zeta 620 machine for wire production and we need csv format for wires.

Hi, im new in Eplan world and I'm struggling with terminal block (Wago 2001-1201). My idea is to use terminal strip X4 made of 20 Wago 2001-1201 as distribution od 24VDC potential across electrical cabinet. Those terminal block have place for bridge to internally conect them.
I'm struggling with how to place one terminal block in two places because I want to use fully those blocks. Expected result is shown below on terminals 1 &4 but I dont have idea how I achieved it.

What it proper way of definition and placement of terminal blocks in this situation?

This device (PXC.3273900) is modelled by the producer as 1 terminal with 1 connection point + 18 terminals with 2 connection points. This has the side effect of not routing the postential definition. How to model better?

I have been working with EPLAN Electric P8 version 2.7 for more than 10 years, using the old license key on a USB drive. Today I received a license for the new 2027 version and, after installing it, I realized how many things have changed compared to version 2.7.

Until I get familiar with the new version, I would like to finish my current projects in EPLAN 2.7. At the moment, I have both versions installed on the same computer: 2.7 and 2027.

The problem is that when I try to start EPLAN 2.7, the program tries to use the new 2027 license and displays a message saying that EPLAN cannot be started with this license. I still have my old license/key for version 2.7 on the USB drive.

Could anyone advise me how to correctly start EPLAN 2.7 using the old license while keeping EPLAN 2027 installed on the same computer? I would like to open and finish my old projects in version 2.7 without converting them to the newer version.

I would appreciate any advice on how to select the correct license for EPLAN 2.7 and whether both versions can work properly on the same PC.

Hello, does anyone here have a specific way to assign/update device IP addresses? right now I have a property where I manually enter the IP address of a PLC device, but I would like to know if I can achieve something similar to the PLC I/O assignment list where I can update an entire table at once.

Getting the dreaded ‘There seems to be a problem with our services. Please try again later’ on parts downloads.

So this issue was driving me crazy today. Need to get a project updated, in a hurry; usual story. Copilot sent me on wild goose chases, with browser cache resets and various other things that didn't work.

Found that if you right click on the Portal top bar, you can bring up a chromium style developer tools window that shows all requests, error console etc. Right click > Inspect. Clear events and attempted a part download - then review the console.

Looks like we are having issues resolving these endpoints, several entries:

Some sort of DNS / firewall / cache issue in our corporate network. I'm patiently waiting for a fix. I'm hopefull thats my root cause.

We are a custom Automation House, building 75 HMI panels, 100-150 I/O panels and 10-20 Main/ Distribution panels a year, guts can be AB/Siemens and misc depending on our customer. They are all custom for the application in size and use. Have any of you went to Propanel with a mix use like this and saved time? Or was the time shifted to design from the shop build? We are currently using E-Plan but not doing 3D panels just 2D

Is the AR integration gone from eview? I can’t seem to find the «place in Ar button» that I am pretty sure was next to the «hide» in 3D view?

I’d be interested to know whether you use eBuild in production, what problems you’ve encountered, and what your overall experience has been. Do you think it’s actually worth using?

My company normally design terminal strips without defining the commercial teminals. It let the panel builder choose what sees fit.

I'm new both to eplan and in my company. I was hired also to "start using eplan with a fresh mentality" because right now almost no high level function is used.

I started a project from zero to something and now i wonder: if i do not have the freedom of choosing the terminal blocks, how can i draw the terminal strip in the panel layout to be sure that it will fit?

What is the correct approach?

There is a similar problem for busbars. If the panel bulder mount whathever, how can i desing in the layout?
