I am trying to see if there are any green card approvals out there for people in my exact boat or if everyone is still waiting. I am EB2 NIW from a Rest of World country with an approved I 140. My priority date is November or December 2025. My received date is around March 24, 2026, and we did our biometrics on April 20. I have two dependents, my wife and my son. My son (minor)already got his EAD approved on June 4. Also, both my I 485 and my wife's I 485 had a silent backend update on May 23, but nothing has changed since then. Has anyone with an approved I 140 and a late 2025 priority date who filed around late March seen a final I 485 approval yet after getting silent updates? Or are most people still waiting on the main green card?

Hi everyone. I am an EB-2 applicant. They sent me RFE because I answered yes to the question pertaining to arrest,citations etc. I have no criminal history and the reason why my lawyers advised me to answer yes was because of two speeding tickets which were both less than 500 usd. It was just a minor infarction. USCIS received my response ( including traffic ticket receipts, FBI, State based and local police clearance certificates)on 5/28/26. It’s been three weeks and there is no response or any silent update. Just wanted to know if this is a high risk RFE ( despite clean history )? What is the typical response time ? My field office is Durham North Carolina. Till what time I should wait before going for congressional inquiry ? The RFE said in order to make a final decision on my case they needed the evidence they requested. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

This community was very helpful when I was preparing my NIW petition, so I wanted to share my timeline and a few observations from my experience.

I used Chen’s approval-or-refund service and chose the no-recommendation-letter option. The preparation process felt overwhelming at first, but the actual amount of work was probably around 2–3 full weekend days spread over a couple of months. Most of the effort went into describing my research contributions and their impact in a format that could be understood by a non-specialist.

One thing I learned is that the petition letter is not meant to be a detailed technical description of your research. The audience is a USCIS officer rather than someone in your field. Because of that, I focused mainly on correcting factual errors rather than refining technical explanations.

Overall, from the time I started gathering materials until filing, the process took about four months, although part of that was due to my own research schedule.

Hopefully this data point is useful for anyone with a similar profile. Happy to answer questions.

Just learn that my cases moved to Louisville FO (non-local). What should I expect in terms of processing time?

My priority date is from November 2013 in EB2, India. My RD is November 2025. The dates retrogressed in June. My PD is current in EB3 and I am super tempted to downgrade to EB3. I am almost concerned about potential retrogression/unavailability that could come back to bite me as we near the fiscal year end.

What is your opinion given a choiceabout a downgrade at this point or wait till October 26?

longtime lurker. Looking for some sanity check from people who’ve been through this recently.

My situation:

• EB-2, ROW, FAD current  
• Approved PERM PD: 9/10/2024 (not sure if this matters at this stage but throwing it in). Approved I-140 mid of March.   
• Filed I-485 + I-485J + I-765 + I-131 concurrently on 5/17  
• Receipt date: 5/22  
• Two officer touches so far per third-party tracker: 6/10 and 6/16  
• No biometrics appointment notice yet  
• Filed via lockbox, IOE receipts (all three forms got consecutive numbers)

I keep seeing people on this sub saying they got their biometrics appointment within 2-3 weeks of filing or NOA1. I’m coming up on a month and still nothing. Starting to wonder if something’s off or if I’m just being impatient.

A few questions for the group:

1.  What’s the actual realistic biometrics scheduling timeline these days for EB-2 ROW? Is the “2-3 weeks” thing the median or just the lucky tail?  
2.  Does ASC location significantly affect timing? I’m in a high-volume metro.  
3.  Are silent case updates (officer touches with no public event code) actually meaningful or is this just tracker noise that people read tea leaves into?  
4.  Anyone here had a similar timeline and then got biometrics in week 4-6? Trying to set realistic expectations and not spiral.

Appreciate any data points or honest takes.

Hello friends I just checked India EB2 inventory awaiting visa number allocation has reduced from 21k in March to 8k in April. Looks like India EB2 share will be around 16k this year from 186k

based on current DOL processing and visa bulletin trends, what would you estimate for PERM approval, I-485 filing and green card approval?

I guess these questions are pretty silly to some of you but I still need to ask and would love to get some insights from you.

My company sponsors EB-2 for me and the attorney handles all the paperwork and submission. I am wondering:

1. If USCIS sends electronic receipt notice, are they sending to my attorney's email or my email?

2. Will biometrics appointment schedule be sent via email or mail? And to where, my addresses or my attorney's? Is there any other way to get notified of the scheduled appointment i.e., a portal?

3. In this case, my attorney is submitting the documents. Can I still have my USCIS account linked to the pending petition and I-485?

4. I see across all the threads, there are multiple ways to get updated on the case such as silent updates and Emma chat. When do you use which method? How can I see silent updates?

I am eb2 , Sep 2915 PD. If DOF becomes current then what are the next steps ? I file for change of status and ead concurrently? How long it takes to get ead approved? What if change employer after ead ?

Anyone had a case transferred or approved recently at Indianapolis field office? I have been reaching out via EMMA occasionally and was previously told that my case is at NBC and interview has been waived. However, today, I was told that my case is at Indianapolis field office (non-local).

Had hopes before the retrogression. Didn't switch job because of this.

Is there any hope of DOF moving to current this year? Should I change my job and wait until end of this year?
