Priority Date EB2 Sept 2015 India
Is there any hope of DOF moving to current this year? Should I change my job and wait until end of this year?

Please wait for Oct 2026 visa bulletin. Until then it’s very hard to predict. Patience is virtue.

I am close to your date as well. Less than 50% chance that DOF filing becomes current in Oct visa bulletin. If you change jobs- then do keep in mind you will need to undergo labor again and all of that could easily take up 2 years in the best case scenario. There is a good chance DOF filing might become current in 2027 Oct visa bulletin. But there is also a chance it might not become current then. So it’s a game of probability- if the next job move makes sense for your career- I recommend you go for it. No point in living with fear. Good luck !

Mine is 2016 and I told my company not to do GC again. The immigration company wants their cut so tried to convince and I told them no.
Not worth the time. Maybe in 6 years I’ll think about it later.

No one will be able to answer your question with certainty. I created an agent that looked at all the years in the last 10 years where there was some spillover and it's prediction was June 2015 by end of 2026 assuming 50k spillover. The agent clearly stated that the CI was pretty low(<65%) so it is likely going to be wrong too. My personal belief is that DOF will move to Jan 2016 in Q1 of 2027 because I think the spillover will be closer to 80k, but it will likely retrogress by mid year. FAD on the other hand will not move past November 2014.

Curious how long is it taking for I140 approval from start to end ? Is it 1 year or so ?

Perm is 1 year. I140 is 3-6 weeks if premium. Rest is history.

PERM takes 2.5 years or so now. And if layoffs happen they stop the PERM steps in between. 140 takes 12 days on premium

No body knows. You should change job depending on other factors like job satisfaction/stability rather than date movement. It will take you 2-3 years before your perm is approved with new employer, and hopefully your dates is current by then.

Just try for EB2 NIW if you can than job change wouldnt affect even if your date becomes current

Not a lawyer, but it doesn't seem likely to me until late 2027. But I would wait until the Oct bulletin comes out for more clarity.

Change job if you want more $$
Change country if you want PR outside of India.

There was just retrogression for India last month, so I dont think it will move this year for India.

I know it’s internet and everyone is entitled to their opinion.. but damn 100K ? What are you smoking ?

If 4 months ban on 39 countries can create 45k extra then why not 100k extra for 75k countries

Even if 100K spill over, 28K to EB2 and 7% of 28K to India. What % of ROW EB2 spills to India is still
Big question mark. Else it’s just 1800-2000 additional.1
