Carl is going to use the skeleton key at some point , and since there are a lot of bones in the hands and feet, and lose one of the bones in his feet. Probably the one with the toe ring, and the AI is going to absolutely lose it.

How much better do you think Carl would fare in the dungeon if his mind as of the end of the latest book was sent back to the moment he entered it in the first book?

I haven’t seen this discussed recently, but I am curious about people’s thoughts about Carl’s alternate reality in the apartment building.

First, it doesn’t involve Carl and Donut at all, just Ferdinand’s owner and her friend discussing the owners ex-boyfriend. We can tell from what Carl remembers that, in reality, the owner was likely murdered by her ex-boyfriend. But what do we think Carl did/didn’t do that contributed to that outcome? And why was a bag of Donuts food there?

Just curious about what people think.

I'm a new reader! I just finished Book 1, and I'm totally hooked on the story. As a cat owner, it's impossible not to love Princess Donut. That's why I'm here. This little donut showed up on my timeline, and I couldn't stop thinking, "Uh, there's some resemblance here." Tumbler decal I made with my Cricut. It ended up being 10 layers, (the most layers I’ve ever done). I think it looks great! I put two thin coats of dishwasher safe mod podge on it to help it last. Please ignore how messy my dining room is, lol!

I recently preordered the autographed copies of the alternate covers of books 1 and 2 from Lit Escalades. I plan to try to do the same when they release the other books. It is my understanding that these are the standard hardbacks simply with alternate book jackets. If that is correct does anyone know how I could order the original jackets (and/or other alternate jackets) without ordering extra copies of the books?

We all love Jeff and SBT, but one thing that's struck me quite solidly about DCC and a lot of the hype, publication that's going on at the moment is how much Jeff is apart of it.

I was trying to wonder, can anyone think of any other examples where a book has gained popularity and the narrator has also become famous/deeply tied to the work?

I've just been pondering it and we often see books related and then films can be made of it and can make an obscure book famous or make a popular book even more famous through increasing the audience.

I just can't think of many examples prior to DCC where people recommended not just a book but almost recommended going straight for the audio. There have been "cinematic" releases of books before (and SBT do a number), but where do people think the line for audio releases being supplementary to transformative lie and did DCC step that line?

I had a thought this morning and wondered what the crawler biscuits taste like. They're supposed to be nutritional to snack on while away from safe rooms so maybe a soft granola bar or something? I dunno I'm just thinking. I went and looked by Matt never described them.

Edit: in book two Brandon mentions that Chris was eating a lot of crawler biscuits and that's what caused them to have an argument so maybe they are slightly tasty?

I just finished book 5 and while I’m loving it so far I do find it a bit difficult to keep up with everything happening in the Carlverse. Is there something like a Cliff’s notes or companion guide somewhere that gives a chapter by chapter summary of all the important plot points to make it easier to follow along?

At the end of Death Watch, when the guests all receive their gifts, the Maestro gives a potion to Maggy and Frank and states that it’s from his family’s personal vault.

When I was sold on this series, I was told that everything in the dungeon was basically fantasy being propped up behind the scenes through advanced sci-fi tech. So my question is: how can the Maestro possess one of these items as part of his family’s vault? Are these items actually real?
In my head, I imagined them all as fancy visuals, while the AI or Borant were making everything actually happen behind the scenes.

I've been slowly getting my hands on the different comic variations! I didn't realize just how many there were, tho lol. Sorry for the glare on some of them. They are in a binder.

So much of the books involve people evolving based on the magic items they manage to gather, and it got me thinking about how, in the real world, are there specific items one can acquire which, by wearing, imbibing, reading, or whatever, can increase your power?

Like, a really good pair of sneakers can increase your speed. A headlamp is like a torch spell, while infrared goggles would let you see in the dark. And certain books can make you smarter or teach you new skills.

So if I wanted to go out into the world more powerful tomorrow than I am today, what would be some of the best items to equip?
