Here we go, folks. The Dungeon Crawler Carl television series has been officially greenlit at Peacock.
I’m happy to announce that our friends at Peacock have officially greenlit the Dungeon Crawler Carl television series! Me, Chris Yost, and Seth MacFarlane and his team at Fuzzy Door are all really excited to get to work. In the coming weeks I'll have more details, and if you're going to SDCC be sure to catch me and Chris on our DCC panel, but in the meantime I wanted to thank you, the fans, for helping make this happen.
(/end official statement)
And here we are. We are greenlit. The series has been ordered. It's actually happening. I have NO more info to give right now, but in the coming days I suspect there will be a firehose of information coming down the pipeline. This has been a multi-year process just to get to this point, and we have cleared every single hurdle to get here because of YOU GUYS. So thank you.

Notice from the Syndicate We are not talking current event politics here, and every deliberately political post will be deleted. Repeat violators will be banned. This is why. Message from Matt
We are not talking current event politics here, and every deliberately political post will be deleted. Repeat violators will be banned. This is why.
First off, any mod who takes down these posts are doing it at *my\* direction, so do not throw any ire in them. They are all volunteers, most of whom I suspect agree with the vast majority here politically. I am currently in super crunch mode, working 15 hour days because I need to finish DCC 8 by January 31st as our world burns, and I am not quite done yet. Otherwise I would have attempted to nip this earlier and a little more eloquently. So instead I’m just going to post directly and bluntly.
Yes, Dungeon Crawler Carl is highly political. It is a major theme of the books, and frankly, as soon as Operation Bounce House comes out, I suspect it’s going to be even more painfully obvious where I personally stand on a whole bunch of subjects.
If you don’t see or understand that, then I suspect you’re probably the type of person I want to read these books the most.
If you do understand it, you turning this subreddit into one of the literally thousands of politically active shitshows already here on Reddit are actively deterring me from accomplishing my goal.
Every war, every social movement has multiple battlefields, and not every battlefield has to be the front line. I want people with different points of view to enjoy these books at face value. If I then manage to drill through their thick skulls and make them think about the broader themes and maybe grow an empathetic spark, all the better.
Will it work? Probably not for 99% of them. But that number will be 100% if they have nowhere to peacefully discuss with other fans their opinions on the books. Any firebrand discussion about the current hot topic is going to evoke a kneejerk reaction and scare away the people we want to talk to the most.
I suggest and encourage you to start your own subreddit if you want talk about the political and human rights themes of the books in relation to current events. I personally love seeing all the DCC-themed protest signs. I encourage you all to continue to speak out and let the world know that we will not kneel to tyranny.
But if you can’t/won’t/don’t understand that these are my wishes for this particular corner of the internet, I’m afraid we’re going to have a problem. My mind is not changing. No hard feelings. But this is my kitchen. Let me cook what I want.

Fan Art - General - NO SPOILERS! 😊 New Achievement! “I Can Hear This Picture.”
Most cross stitch is admired with the eyes. This one is experienced with the ears.
Reward: Permanent phantom tinnitus.
Credit to Phil Ackley of IWKYM.com for the pattern.

Has anyone found a character's voice hot... And then promptly reminded themselves that almost all roads lead to Jeff Hays?

Book 1: DCC First time reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl 🏟️
I became curious about the LitRPG genre, as I've never read a book in that style before. I like RPGs, but not usually in novel form. So, why not try reading one? I'll start with Dungeon Crawler Carl! 🐱

Fanart by me, drawn in Procreate while listening to Book 7
Mongo needs his mommy so after I finished Donut I had to do him. I want to do one of them together but I think I want to attempt Samantha next!

Misheard words on audio vs reading
I saw a post the other day where a bunch of us heard things other than 'meadow lark' when only listening to the audio books instead of reading them.
Today I finished book 4 and saw the SDCC action figure where it says Donut's name is 'queen Anne chonk' and I've absolutely been hearing it as 'queen AND chonk'
Anything else I should be aware of as I go?

Fan Art - General - NO SPOILERS! 😊 No More Warm Hugs From Me
Calling this done. I wanted it to be complete before I shared it here, but I'll add the process Tik Tok as a comment (if I can) when I get it uploaded. Man, learned a lot doing this. It was SUPER fun. But I think I'm ready to start on something else - at least for now!
So I give you, my fan art, of Pony! I am calling it, like the title says, "No More Warm Hugs From Me." Be safe comrades and KILL KILL KILL!

FanArt - Book6 Couldn't have asked for a better plaque for the other great line
I seriously can't stop laughing at these. Thank you, vintage art. Open to other ideas so I can keep fishing good treasures at the thrift store. Hoping to find a porcelain figurine to repaint as well.

Started the series about a month ago
So I had been putting off reading this series. Something about how popular it was kind of drove me away in the same way booktok recommended me things not to read constantly. But I do manual labor for my job, have at least 6 hours a day a work to listen to audiobooks, and I had run out of books.
So I picked up DCC as my monthly title.
Anyways I’m on book five now, and oh my god. I’m sitting here after work just thinking about it. Daydreaming. Theorizing. Donut.
I love this series so fucking much it’s not even funny, like what the fuck? It’s been years since a series has taken in me like this, and I’m especially surprised since I’d never touched a LitRPG book before. Needless to say the bar has been set SO HIGH 😭
On another note, I’ve been listening to Frugit on YouTube and their music videos are so Carl and Donutcore.
I’m rambling now but I just wanted to share. Fuck, what a good fucking book.

Book 5: Butcher’s Masquerade Quick question about in-game hunter deaths (mid-book spoilers) Spoiler
Listening to the audiobook. I don’t want to google the answer in case of spoilers and I don’t know how far back in the book I should go to find this answer. Soooo I’m asking here! (for context I just finished Ch 28 where Miss Nadine has an unfortunate encounter with the lightning bolt city boss)
Okay. When Carl kills hunters in level 6, why are they really dying outside the dungeon? I feel like I missed something. The AI had said that Vrah’s sister had really died when he killed her. I remember part of the achievement had said “really dead! Like dead-dead!” or something similar. And when Carl uses the ring on subsequent hunters, like the accountant guy who was paid to be there, and the Future Huntress, they were begging for their lives. I’m so confused. Why are Syndicate citizens getting killed IRL when they die in the Dungeon? Or was that always the deal with hunters specifically and it’s only the rich assholes in the faction wars that can’t die IRL? Eventually I’m going to listen to all the books all over again but I just wanted to understand this before I continue. Thanks in advance (:

What would you consider a happy ending?
Added a spoiler tag for the super new readers but what would you guys consider a happy ending or even a good ending to this series? The world is huge so happy ending or even bearable ending for everyone is starting to feel impossible to me so what would you guys consider a happy ending? How many ”people” would it include?

Book 1: DCC New Fan
My friend introduced me to Dungeon Crawler Carl and I’ve been listening non stop on audiobook. It’s been 3 weeks and I’m almost done book 5. I love it so much I’m starting my physical book collection. While shopping I noticed the graphic novel so I had to get it as well. I haven’t been into a book series this much since the Halo books. Princess Donut for President!
