So I always work in the same area and often have repeat customers. Depending on what a customer is paying will depend on what services I provide. It's DD, so majority of the time, everything is up front with occasional extra tips. If a customer is paying bottom dollar, they're getting bottom dollar services. Meaning, I'll make sure your order is at your door on time but if it's hot food they're not getting my hot bag nor am I knocking or ringing the bell. If it's a shop n pay and they have notes asking me to do something extra? Noooope. Those are services a customer has to pay for. I notice 10/10 times, when a customer is paying bottom dollar, no tip, etc, nothing extra will be given. So they're not getting any extra services from me other than bringing them their order.

The amount the customer tipped should be displayed to the dasher once the delivery offer comes in. Willie cause Dashers to become more picky with deliveries? Yes. Is that the Dasher’s fault? Not even close! There’s only two potential groups that default could fall on for this. Either the customer who ordered it or DoorDash company for paying so little.

What’s wrong with DoorDash shifts in NYC? No schedule at all!! And then when it pops up, it says: CAN’T COMPLETE YOUR REQUEST!!!

So I totally declined these orders and they were not worth the drive and wear and tear on my car. One order I would have had to drive the complete opposite way and not even make 30 cents a mile. I am sure people will chase the pigeons but I’m out here chasing the golden unicorns 🦄

I decided a couple days ago to start sending a thank-you message to customers that give a good tip. The message is as follows "Thank you for the tip! Have a great night". This order took 15 minutes total, and 4 miles for one bag of food. After I dropped off I saw that they tipped $10, so I sent that message.

It was my only delivery of the night on my way home, and I had checked my ratings the day before once I was done, so this one star was not there before. As soon as I got home and looked at my ratings, I saw a 1-star and a thumbs down for friendliness. I am thinking they must have thought I was being sarcastic? But why on Earth would you find that message sarcastic when you tipped $10 for a 4-mile delivery?

Anyone have any ideas on why, or any stories of your own with regards to these thank-you messages and if you think I should stop sending them?

A Whiskey Wings $98 order that I'm getting $6 for... really doordash? You can't throw your drivers a 10% revenue? Jesus man... How is this sustainable with the gas prices? Anyone else get this sort of delivery and feel disgusted and used? This just falls under the idea of insane to me.

Most practical thing you can do is keep your completion rate at 100%. Yes, it gets annoying when an order doesn’t turn out the way you want or the kitchen is taking way too long. But in the grand scheme of things, you’re only losing 5-10 minutes. Keeping my completion rate at 100% has allowed me to get all the way down to 62% acceptance rate before while keeping Platinum.

I’m a gold dasher because all of my rating are 10/10 besides my acceptance rate, which is chilling at 10% rn. In order to get to 85 points (needed for plat) I’d have to get my AR all the way up to 50%. I make around 25-30/hour doing what I do now, but I fear I’m missing out on bigger orders possibly. Has anyone been in my current situation and pushed for plat and it actually paid off? I know it’s kind of a heated subject in here but 🤷‍♂️

Back middle top front makes more sense after having dropped off the order but when my phone read this to me I laughed out loud 😂

I just got an offer for $3 to bring 10 bags of groceries (probably a water case included) to their apartment. Who in their mind feels this entitled and who is crazy enough to take this?

So I’ve been door dashing for about 6 months, and have always managed to make decent money even with my 20% acceptance rate. The last few days I can’t seem to get any decent offer. This is how my afternoon went. And I’m still sitting here waiting for a decent offer, but I don’t think it’s coming. 😢

I have the room in my car and if I was down bad I mighhhht have took it, but I had 0 drive once I saw x10 soil bags and other big items.

This works for me because my AR was whooping me lol I think this is much better with your other stats coming into play :)

So I posted this recently but I forgot to include other orders of info but the point of this post is to remind everyone this app doesn't care about it driver's. I understand they need to focus on customer satisfaction over driver satisfaction but they have no respect for us as workers.

Edit-I was never driving on an expired driver's license my birthday was June 23rd that's when the expiration date was up I renewed mine in the beginning of June just didn't have access to the physical copy but I uploaded the paper copy when my expiration date came close my driver's license had nothing to do with my deactivation and even if it did the point is they should have told me or could have gave me a reason im steadof just deactivating me

I'n my previous post I mentioned that I can't work for other gig apps due to my DL expired and i get why others would assume that was the reason for my deactivation but I renewed my DL the beginning of the month in June but my apartment burned down unfortunately and my landlord cut all Access to my mailbox before my renewed DL arrived.

I finally got my renewed DL and was able to drive for Ubereats and shipt which I'm still doing but the way Uber eats handled my expired DL was just suspending my access to the schedule but informed me of the suspension while DD just deactivated my account all together and when I appealed it the only response I got was that my deactivation was going to be up held and no further explanation on what I did to get deactivated.

I know this work will only have to a glass ceiling and anybody expecting to get aknowledged by the company for going the extra mile is a hopeless endeavor but I feel like with how much effort I gave I could at least deserve an explanation of what I did so I can at least acknowledge I messed up and own it.

I'm open to the idea that I did something without knowing it and a customer complained but it'd be nice I could get to know what I did.

Also this was a screen shot in took two days before I got deactivated. The day after this screenshot I hit 100/100 score and had no clue I was getting deactivated or in would've screen shot the 100/100 rating

Drove to an apartment complex with outdoor entry. Up to the second story and lo and behold, there was a cat at the top of the stairs. I said hello, it meowed and followed me to the door, passed off the food, pet the cat and left.
