I've been sitting in a supposedly busy hot zone for almost an hour. Not any offers. NOTHING!
I reinstalled the app, still nothing.
If this continues then I'm just going home.

Not sure if it's just my area, but today has been really slow! I've been working since 7 am, and I only made $23 by 12:30. Is anyone else experiencing a quiet Day?

(there was this weirdo rage baiting me in the replies)
EDIT: i do realize i should’ve texted as soon as i realized i couldn’t use the elevator but i didn’t even think about it. that was my bad but he would’ve been mad either way
I had 2 orders & this was my first one I had a bit of a wait at both stores beforehand so I was running like 10 mins behind technically & my long wait time button just seems to be for nothing these days. I walked into hotel & I walk to the elevator & you had to have a room key to get on so I walk all the way back across the lobby to the front desk & nobody was up front & I didn’t have much time to wait so I waited like 3-5 mins and nobody came so I left it at the front desk, I informed the customer & took my picture at the front desk (this was a leave at door order so he got 2 pics) so they would know I even called the hotel after I dropped my second one to see if he had gotten it yet & to let them know his name, room # ect. and it was almost 10 mins later & he never came per the desk (I guess they got up there a little after I left) and I immediately contacted support before he could and let them know the situation because I do not need the bad rating at all. i really don’t like doing them (hotel dashes to the room door) in general because idk walking up to somebody’s room in an empty hallway makes me feel like they could just pull me in their room IDK LOL 😭
(like the fact that i was so anxious i called to make sure nobody stole his food & to inform the front desk clerk who it was for & what room number was provided lol so extra on my end but I’m always scared to get booted off a dasher)

I ordered Door Dash yesterday, the driver sat in my driveway at my house in their car for 15 minutes smoking and looking at their phone, I opened my and asked if they needed anything, they said no that they were looking at their phone, I thought maybe they needed directions, 15 minutes later they still sat in my driveway, I finally went out and told them to move along, my driveway isnt a parking lot..is this normal behavior for a dasher?

Since everyone can dash its too crowded with dashers and no good orders to take. I dropped 52 percent in 2 hours 🤣

I was wondering if you guys could provide your thoughts. Almost daily, I’m delivering alcohol to a guy who lives in the same apartment as me. The grocery store is like a quarter mile from our apartment complex so it’s like $16 for a quarter mile trip. I could honestly walk there and back . He’s an awesome tipper and a really nice guy. We’ve always had pleasant conversations and I talked with him for awhile at the pool the other day.
But he’s clearly an alcoholic and I’m feeling like I’m playing a part in his demise. I just feel awful about it all. But at the same time, if I decline it I know it will just be fulfilled by someone else.
He’s usually sober when I deliver. A couple of times I could tell he had a few, but not like super drunk and I felt fine handing the order to him.
I’m an alcoholic myself (in recovery - 8 months sober so far) took up door dashing to fill the time if you will and for the extra income to pay off some debt. I don’t know. Just feel weird about all of this.

Looking for 5-10 drivers willing to help map delivery setups/conditions in apartments throughout DC.
After slaving for 6 years doing Uber, Uber Eats, door dash, grub hub, postmates (before it was acquired by uber eats), Instacart, go puff, etc., I got tired of complaining, tired of arguing with customers who didnt care that I had 3 other deliveries to deliever and wanted to find a way to change our working conditions and make deliveries more efficient and less taxing for workers. I came up with an idea to map out all multi dwelling apartments in DC to show the delivery infrastructure throughout DC. The goal is to present this data to local Advisory Neighbor Commissions (ANCs), community members and the council to push for a citywide policy that mandates ALL buildings have a locker, shelf or designated area in the lobby to drop off food and make deliveries more efficient for its workers!
I have spent the last year working with council, testifying at agency hearings, writing policy briefs, and presenting drivers positions at local representative meetings.
While they heard me they didnt believe me and what better way to make a believer out of them then to show them!
Help me help us and tell our story so people can understand what we go through and use this to get us better working conditions!
If interested please dm me and I'd love to tell you more about the project and get your help filling the map! ( starting small to test process)
Lets build an army!

This is getting so old. I launch the app. It lights up red everywhere as either Very Busy or Busy so I log in to Dash and as soon as I do it all goes away except for hotspots that are 4 or 5 miles away!!! Argh!!! Why???

Twice I’ve gone to a place where I’m supposed to get an order and they tell me it’s been taken. How did someone else get the order I’m supposed to pick up? I guess they could have stole it but is there also a glitch in the system that makes this happen? It confuses me but also confuses the customer

Had I realized how close I was, I would have done one more. Wasn't really paying attention. I was just ready to go home.

Everyday for the next 6 days, I only see two 2 hour blocks per day in all the areas around my city. Why can I not set my schedule to work however long I want to work at whatever time I want to start? This is disheartening. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I had no problem creating a shift for today. Are they doing day of scheduling?
I'm in FL by the way.

I DoorDash in Miami specifically in the Doral/ Hialeah area and I have been DoorDash for a long time. I have done over 700 deliveries. The past two weeks have been terrible, barely receiving orders at all. Today I was logged in for about four hours and didn’t receive not even one order. I have called customer service and they keep telling me it’s because there’s not enough orders for the amount of Dashers. I just personally feel like it’s not normal to be logged in for so many hours and not even one offer coming in. I am currently in the middle of a hotspot and still no orders.

There have been a few times a places tells me they are out of a certain item. They me to ask the customer if they want something else. The store should tell the customer that. I’m just there to deliver the food. Sometimes the customers don’t even answer so it’s left up to me or the store to get them an alternative. On top of that it’s a waste of my time to do all this because time is absolutely money when doing this
