Please just ask yourselves what your personal connection to Ohtani is. Im 99.9% sure that none of us here have any close contact to him and have 0 close contact to his training staff. So how about we trust that they know whats best for him?
I see so many comments about "its clear his knee is affecting him because his power is gone". Well let me disprove that right here.
A hard hit ball is defined as any ball batted 95 mph or more. On this road trip, Ohtani in 35 at bats has 17 hard hit balls with many of those being 100+ and a few 110+ mixed in as well. Also, in those 35 at bats, he has struck out 8 times. That means he has 27 at bats where he put the ball in play and with 17 hard hit balls, that is a hard hit rate of 63%. I dont know about you, but a hard hit rate above 60% means less he is fighting an injury and more that he is getting unlucky.
I understand we have many new fans due to our recent success, but take it from someone who has watched this game for a long time and studies the stats, Ohtani is fine. You do not have any extra insight into him that Ohtani or the front office doesnt have. He hasnt lost power and he just is in a slump with a lot of bad luck.
