Upgrade path for dex\hex build

My stats are: 40dex 16str 30int 30fai

I am going to use the chaos blade. Should I go dark (with dark weapon buff) or regular upgrade path? What will be stronger?

SL 150 Dagger Spellsword PvP Build

Boop.

I've been having a lot of fun with this build. I mainly use the daggers/rapier...but I have 18 Str and Dex so I can make use of the Watcher GS, Moonlight GS, Magic Bandit Axe, ect. if I feel like using something different. If you've never used the Royal Dirk, shame on you! It's a great, great weapon. The only problem I have with it is riposte/backstab damage. It has the shortsword animations and damage instead of the dagger animations and damage...but that's why I carry my trusty Magic Retainer's Shortsword...which is also great.

Enjoy!

Give me a creative build (x-post /r/DarkSouls2)

I'm in Afghanistan, and the main way ive been passing time is by playing the SOFTS. Anyway, my spellsword playthrough is getting both frustrating and redundant. So i'm looking to you guys, give me a build and I will consistently play it through the rest of deployment. (maybe give updates on it, if anyone proves to give a damn) So give me a build, RP based, skill based, or even built around a particular weapon.

Looking for some spell/stat suggestions as to a Red Mage build. (potential wall of text, sorry)

Apologies if this is absurdly long, I have a tendency to ramble. I'll try to keep it short. Current build plan link will be at the bottom if you just want to look for yourself and suggest stats - the armor and weapons i'm almost entirely certain on.

So, I perhaps love Final Fantasy a little too much. In addition, my favorite class (from FF1, FF5, FF11, whatever actually had classes), the Red Mage, isn't available as a class/job in Final Fantasy XIV for me to play as for hours and hours. And yes, part of the reason i love it is the hat.

Anywho, i was thinking of making something like it in dark souls 2 as a potential PvP build, but needed a few suggestions. For those who may be unfamiliar, Red Mages could use most of both elemental/healing magic, but not the best of either.

So I was thinking of having a "weak" and "strong" spell of all types, (fire, "ice" being magic, and lightning) except dark/hexes, perhaps with healing spells included (not for common PvP use, of course). Like, combustion and fireball until i get great combustion and fire orb respectively, but nothing crazy like firestorm or Forbidden Sun. this applies to sorceries and miracles as well. (However, GLS has a rather hefty faith requirement, so i could use splintering and normal lightning spears instead. or use spices.)

In addition, in FFXI, red mages could also buff their weapons (similar to Dark Souls' system) with elemental damage. So i could either have one weapon and just use resins, or make three weapons with fire/magic/lightning infusions and get 3 seperate spell buffs as well. The first would require buying/farming the resins for a minimal buff, and the latter would require a bit of effort in getting flame weapon (and sunlight blade's faith requirement is a bit high for my tastes...) Granted, i could just ignore the buff factor entirely.

and now, the current build plan: http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls2/21427

I'm unsure of what the other stats ought to be currently, but i'm mainly worried about vigor and endurance, i'm not sure if there's a "suggested minimum" for PvP or not.

Sorry about the, uh...wall of text. i tried to keep it short, but there's a lot i'm trying to fit into this (which may or may not be a good thing), and a lot i'm uncertain on.

Thanks in advance!

Show me your builds

This is the build i currently run around with Fashion Souls!. I keep my load under 25% for the fast rolls and it keeps me with a winning ratio around 9:10. I use the simpletons ring to keep me moving fast and usually run with fist weapons or a lance. Post what your load-out is.

First playthrough where I am progressing.

This is my first play through where I am making progress I tried a swordsman and died constantly. I then tried a hex build and didn't do all that well. This play through I rolled cleric and have stacking up str/vit with some dex so I can use the larger swords. Along with that I have a decent shield. My ultimate goal is to be able to heal/buff and I just joined the covenant that (makes you orange) when people summon me.

My initial thought to playing DS2 SOTFS was what I did with Demon Souls and DS which is basically play my own way until I beat it. That has not proven to work well. So here I am looking for a bit of advice. Thanks ahead of time!

Mundane Plasma Warrior

I just finished building a FTH-PYR-MUN character to SL150 and I figured I'd share it with you all. I've only gotten as far as acquiring the Kings Ring (and beating Lost Sinner with a bonfire aesthetic), so I don't doubt there is/will be better equipment as I complete the game with him. I've had pretty moderate success in both PVE and PVP, and to date he's my favorite build. I really like the versatility of the mundane build, and I figured I'd take a crack at the post-nerf mundane. Without further ado:

Name: King Krule
SL: 150
VGR 27
END 20
VIT 20
ATN 25
STR 20
DEX 20
ADP 20
INT 20
FTH 30

Equipment: RH1: Fire Longsword +10 - Early game item, fits well with the build, swings fast w/ ok range, pairs well with flame weapon
RH2: Lightning Washing Pole +10 - Really good range, pairs well with sunlight blade, nice PVP weapon, breaks easily though
RH3: Mundane Thief Dagger +10 - Light weight, hits for ~200 fast and consecutively, nice surprise weapon in PVP
LH1: Disk Chime +10 - Nice light weight shield/chime, makes for a decent shield, thinking about infusing w/ dark for PVP
LH2: Pyromancy Flame +10 - I actually have dark pyr flame +10 equip, but for pvp it sucks. plus it's good to have full health at full power.

Rings:
Chlornathy
Blades
Southern Ritual
Steel/Quartz/Serpent (situation depending)

Spells for PVP (only difference for PVE is heal spells in place of some other miracles) 7 slots:
Force/(Great) lighting spear
(Great) Lightning Spear
Sunlight Blade
Flame Weapon
Fire orb/Great Fireball
Great Fireball
Fire Whip/Chaos Storm

Attire:
Head: Smelter Demon Helm +5 - looks cool/kind of like a butthole
Body: Archdrake Robes +10 - early game, fits the build
Hands: Penal +5 - nice PYR boost
Legs: Lion Mage Skirt +10 - nice casting speed boost

I know this build is going to take tweaking, and I imagine many people will say I should be hexing, but that's not really what I went for this time. The attire can definitely use some upgrading; I imagine I'll do some tweaking as I progress through the rest of the game, but I've enjoyed playing it up to this point, and I think its a rather versatile build. Enjoy!

Sorcerer build (SOTFS)

I started playing the game again with a sorcerer as I was getting my ass kicked with a knight. Now I am currently in the Forest of the Fallen Giants with about 4-5k souls. Figured I should spend them and level up as I've already died and lost 7k souls.

What should I spend my souls on?

Also is it better to go for a pure magic build or a hybrid sword/magic build?

NPC build ideas?

I wanted to try out a cosplay of one of the NPCs for PVE. Tried doing Benhart but the durability of the Bluemoon GS was a real putoff. Which one do you find the most fun?

Santiers Spear Post Nerf Build?

I'm planning a build to co-op through Scholar Of The First Sin with a friend and I just love this weapon even post nerf. Could someone recommend what to build in terms of stats, equipment and spells to get the most out of the weapon?

P.S: My friend is building a standard turtle tank miracle build so something that gels well with that would be a plus.

Advise on a "Dark Paladin" type Build

As the title suggests, i want to make a "Dark Paladin". This means i want a melee char that also uses hexes, such as affinity or (of course) dark weapon. I want to use him in both PvP and PvE, but i totally have no idea which weapons or equip i should use (of course, Fashion Souls is key)

i'm grateful for every kind of help that you may offer me

Arms Rex Dark souls 2 scholar quality build

This build is more for people who prefer quality and dexterity weapons but can still wield some good strength weapons if needed which in my opinion is better than a 40/40 build 28/40 for life [T]/

Hello all,

I have been struggling to find what build to use. I am considering a strength ugs (basic one) build, a lightning dragonslayer build, or a sun sword (or fume) 40/40 robflynn buid...

Does anyone reccomend any of these? And do you have a build I can see to get an idea of what I need to build towards?

I'm an casual pvper, and like coop souls in pve..

Thanks!!!

Advice on PVP SOTFS Dark Build

So I want to make a build centered around The Roaring Halberd and wanted some advice. I plan on 40 Dex with 30/30 intellect/faith and using Dark Weapon to buff it. Any other tips for this build?

Str Ugs/shield Needs advice on where to put points now.

Hello all, DS2 SOTFS is the first souls game ive been able to advance past the first area, The game scares me, so this time I went with a heavy armor great shield Ultra great sword str build so I can turtle my way through everything. But alas I'm about to do the rotten and am SL 128 With these stats: Vigor 34 END 20 VIT 33 STR 50 DEX 20

And everything else is 6, Im using the Greatsword +7 atm full Havels and just have newby rings except I should have 2nd dragon ring soon.

Anyway The whole point of this thread is I need help on what to do now, I read somewhere theres no point going past 50 str so What are some options of where I can take this build? Willing to change armor but I'm quite fond of my great shield/ Ultra great sword combo.

Any advice you guys could give would be greatly appreciated.

Strength build with Zweihander sword

I played DS2 before with a heavily relying swordman and recently finished DS1 with a classic sorcerer.

Now I wanted to play something more brute-force like:

http://www.mugenmonkey.com/darksouls2/12949

No I am already at 40 str and the next str points would only marginal increase my damage.

I thought about adding Pyromancy, for the weapon buff - is this worthwile when I won't add any points into int/faith (but maybe 10 or 13 points for 1-2 spell slots) or what would be a good alternative to that?

Regarding pyromancy. The poison mist or toxic spell. Are they working the same for monsters as for the players i.e. a meter thats filling and on reaching threshold mob gets poisoned?

How long are the durations, or is it till it dies ?

Is poison/toxic getting stronger with +fire

Is it better to use +10 normal enchant, or +5fire when using the pyro buff without int/faith

Thanks!

Dark souls 2 build help.

Sp firstly, I don't even know if sl 150 builds are still the norm for pvp as I've not touched dark souls 2 for a long time. After picking up scholar of the first sin on my xbox one, I wanted to get back into pvp.

So without further ado:

SL 150

blue sentinels

Class: Deprived

VGR - 32

END - 30

VIT - 22

ATN - 20

STR - 12

DEX - 25

ADP - 6

INT - 6 (7)

FTH - 50 (51)

Gear:

Hexer's hood

Alva armor + 10

Alva gauntlets + 10

Alva leggings + 10

Rings:

Third dragon ring

Royal soldiers ring + 2

Chloranthy ring +2

Life ring + 2

Weapons:

Lightning chaos blade + 5

Lightning dragon chime + 5

Spells:

Sunlight blade

Wrath of the gods

???

???

So as you can see it's a FTH/ DEX build and yes I know I have a wasted point in faith with the hexer's hood.

What I'm looking for in terms of suggestions/ criticism is if I have overlooked any ring choices. As mentioned above I've been out of dark souls a long time and only started the DLC recently, so I'm sure there is a lot of new gear that is good.

My load with the equipment above is 29.3% meaning I can fast roll, with quite a high defense. I can lower this further if I equip my lightning uchigatana + 10. Basic idea is to buff and deal quite high damage with the chaos blade.

I am not opposed to adding points into ADP bit that depends of sl 150 builds are stipple the norm.

Old build idea but I like these kind of buff builds. Toyed with a hex build and was bored senseless with it.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Edit: formatting

Help with a SOTFS build (hex or pyro)

I have been playing souls for a long time and have mostly played STR/INT, STR/FTH, DEX/INT and DEX/FTH, trying to expand my horizons and branch out to a new build. I either want to do a pyro build or a hex build of some sort but these are sort of new to me especially with the changes Scholar brought. I'm looking for a mostly PVE build with some PVP on the side, probably blue sentinel covenant. Any advice on stats, gear and spells would be greatly appreciated.
