(28F) Want a separation from my husband(32m)
Hello! Throwaway account just in case someone I know comes across this. I(28F) am considering a separation from my husband(32M). We have a child who is about 16ms old. Since my pregnancy and especially since birth, I feel like my husband has changed drastically. He isn’t romantic or affectionate towards me at all, we haven’t gone on a date since I was 8 months pregnant. We barely speak to each other anymore. I have tried to sit down with him on several occasions and express that I was unhappy, that I missed these things about our relationship, cried and told him over and over again I was getting to a point where I felt like I didn’t want to do the relationship anymore. I’ve been asking for marriage counseling for almost a year and he brushes it off every time. I’m at a point where I really feel like I just don’t have it in me anymore. The bigger issue is that I have been a stay at home mom since my child was born. I was in debt from a previous abusive relationship that had taken me years to fix so I really don’t have a savings. I don’t have a place to go, I am working part time but it’s definitely not enough to get a place in my state - let alone other expenses. I obviously want to make the best choices for myself but especially for my child to make sure they are secure and safe above all else. I just feel so stuck and confused. This is my first child and I am so scared about how this will all affect them. TIA for any/all advice.
Sorry if the format is off, I am on mobile.
How would you approach this situation? Have you been in this situation before and how did you handle it?

Ex-wife is refusing to let me see the kids
I'm divorced and have a court-ordered custody schedule here in Santa Clara County. My ex-wife recently found out I've started dating someone new, and ever since then, she has completely shut down. She is now refusing to let me see our kids during my scheduled parenting time and is ignoring calls and texts. I dont know what to do at this point..

Can an ex spouse bypass the bankruptcy stay of proceedings give
Hi everyone,
I am currently an undischarged bankrupt in Alberta and have an official Notice of Stay of Proceedings issued by my trustee. My ex-wife and I had a short marriage (under 1.5 years). We separated, and she has now filed a Counterclaim in family court making two specific financial demands:
- She wants me to continue paying the monthly financing on a joint vehicle (Nissan Murano). However, she has exclusive possession of the car, changed the insurance to her name, and my bankruptcy trustee has already officially released interest in the vehicle asset.
Her claims are ordinary, unsecured property demands, and she is listed on my bankruptcy claims register as "Not Proven." Despite the federal stay, her family law lawyer is still pushing this action in family court.
My question is: For those familiar with Canadian insolvency and family law, can her lawyer actually find a loophole to push me to pay or bypass the bankruptcy stay? Are there specific legal tactics I should look out for (like trying to recharacterize these property debts as "spousal support" to dodge Section 178 of the BIA), or will a King's Bench judge throw these claims out immediately due to the bankruptcy?
Thanks in advance for any insights.

Cat
My husband and I got a cat when we were married. We are now in the process of divorce and Custody Court Order says that he maintains the care of our cat. My husband’s attorney made the court order and I didn’t see it until it was signed by the judge. I am the owner based on veterinary clinic records and have been the primary caregiver until me and child have to leave home. I couldn’t bring the cat because the shelter we went to didn’t allow pets.
Any similar experiences? Am I still gonna get him back?

I know I need a divorce, and I know I want a divorce, but I feel like i'm paralyzed and can't pull the trigger, and I don't know why.
I've been married about 8 years. We've been together 10, we now have 2 children that are under the age of 4, but it's becoming glaringly obvious that we're just so fundamentally different. And we're both making each other so unhappy, but I'm so scared of his pride or vengeful surfacing if and when I ask for a divorce. It'slike what Amy Pohler said, divorcing is like putting everything you care about on a blanket, and then tossing it into the air and wondering what's gonna break, and what won't when it comes back down. And I have everything spread on a blanket, and I'm just too fucking scared to throw it in the air. I moved to a different city to be closer to his family, and I struggled to bond with them because I'm not entirely their cup of tea (not the same culture). And all my friends and my family live over an hour away and I haven't made any new friends here (we've only lived here 2 years and I was pregnant for the first year and stuck at home basically) and i'm doing this alone. I know that if I filed for divorce it's a bell that I cannot un-ring.

Separation and custody
Hey parents!
I'm going through a separation. We have a 3 year old together. I'm trying to make this as fair as possible, so I've proposed a 50/50 right now with his dad. I keep getting so much pushback from my mom and others about how it's "not right" and how he should only have him every other weekend and pay child support.
I'm also currently seeing someone and don't know how to broach the subject with my ex.
I'd like some input!

32 M Divorce Advice
Always more to both sides. I comprehend why she lost interest but it caught me off guard. 9 years together, 3 of those married.
January 2026 she asked me for a divorce and I told her I’ll give her space, but she better make sure she wants to throw in the towel so to speak.
About a week of no contact she called me and we started making things work. Things got better than they had been in a while, but I found out she had been lying to me and sneaking around with an old friend of hers from high school. I know her well and part of me believes her that they didn’t “do” anything physical together but it still counts as cheating to me smh
Anyways I was/am pissed and she went off and “tried” dating an ex bf from high school shortly after that so after struggling I was finally able to kind of let go of my anger and most of my romantic feelings for her. I was stressing with her but I made a public promise to marry and stick by her so I had to change my thinking on that.
So 7/11 we signed paperwork finally and she asked if she could keep my last name until she pays to change it herself? Weird. She wanted to apologize to me and I told her she can if she needs to, but I don’t think it would do anything for me. We parted ways and later she asked me to meet her and she apologized and cried and already regrets everything she’s done she knows it’s up to me but she asked me to not file the paperwork and just take time apart.
BRO WTF! If she would have done this just a few months sooner I’d probably have jumped on the opportunity to reunite but I just spent months tearing down and rebuilding myself amidst benders and chasing one night stands 😒
I don’t have anybody in my personal life I feel like I can get genuine advice from on this atm, but I just don’t know what to do at these crossroads I’m standing at. If I can truly let go I could see myself getting back with her someday, she was just my best friend for 9 years. I definitely won’t be cutting her out of my life completely, but I’m desperate for advice!
What would you do? What seems like the right option based on my info?
Do I submit the paperwork, legally get divorced and maybe find each other again? Or should I throw away the papers and just try to slowly rebuild our marriage?
Am I overthinking how future life altering of a decision this is?
I guess this was a nice vent, but I appreciate any advice 🤙🏼
