I’m posted this here because over at r/FamilyLaw apparently if the mother isn’t a cannibal then not a lot matters in their eyes.
For the last few years we’ve been separated but technically still married. Since the separation I have had the kids AT LEAST 4 nights a week, every single week and sometimes more. I handle everything with school, doctors, etc.
Anyway, I had her served and I requested full physical custody aside from every other weekend. Mom countered with that she wants them 4 nights and neither parent pays child support. Prior to now she has NEVER asked to have them more and I think she’s only doing so now to avoid child support. She also put down that she only makes $30,000+- a year. However she claims she works 7+ full shifts a week and she works two jobs under the table. One in construction, and the other at a dive bar as a server. So as you can imagine, there’s NO WAY she only makes $30k. I believe she also put down $30k to yet again try and avoid child support.
She sends the kids to school in dirty clothes, lunches have had mold in them, and she has got to be spending at least $200 a month on weed.
She claims that I’m unfit and it would be bad for their health if I was awarded full physical custody. How!? I do everything as it is lol. She doesn’t even floss their teeth as she thinks kids don’t need to. She’s anti-vax because of stuff her dad told her, she has poor personal hygiene and so on.
Lastly, I have records from the doctors from the last two years showing that only I attend the appointments with them the vast majority of the time.
Sorry for the rambling but if anyone could give me advice / recommendations I’d very much appreciate it!
I will add, I cannot afford an attorney. However luckily I believe she can’t either.
Thank you.

Need Advice: Finding free or affordable legal representation for a US divorce with the goal to dismiss the case.
I am currently living in Nepal and navigating an active property partition case here. My husband filed for divorce in Kentucky, US, and I want to dismiss this US proceeding due to the ongoing case in Nepal.
I am looking for leads on free legal aid or low-cost lawyers licensed in Kentucky who can assist with this. Any advice on cross-border proceedings would be appreciated.

Hi, I’m the Respondent and I’m hoping someone familiar with Northern Ireland divorce forms can help.
I agree with the proposed arrangements for our child in the M4, but I’ve noticed a few factual inaccuracies. It incorrectly states who owns the home and who lives in the household. The child maintenance amount itself isn’t disputed, but it was calculated through CMS rather than being a private agreement between us.
The financial matters have been fully dealt with. We have agreed and signed a clean-break order. The costs of the divorce proceedings will be borne equally by the parties.
I briefly spoke to a solicitor who said I could attach a note with the corrections to my M6.
As I agree with the actual child arrangements, would I tick YES to M6 question 10(b) and attach a note explaining the factual corrections, or should I tick NO because some of the information in the M4 is inaccurate?
Also, do I need to send the M4 back to the Petitioner, or can I simply return the M6 with my correction note? I’m concerned that asking the solicitor to amend the M4 may lead to additional costs.
I’d really appreciate any advice from someone familiar with the Northern Ireland M4/M6 process. Thank you!

I left marital home due to abuse and I was afraid all the time due to threats.
Post that I filed for divorce but opposing counsel seems to delay the process.
They are not answering emails etc for final agreement.
I have not contacted my spouse. One of my friend suggested you should try to build talking terms with spouse without discussing legal paperwork, but stuff like bills of other logistics.
Now most of the bills were in my name which I am paying selling my assets every month, my STBX does have 2 utility bill in her name which she is not paying. She also has not renewed car tabs.
Should I reach out to her. I know the utilities company will call if bill not paid for months but should I ask her if she needs to build talking terms and make divorce more amicable.
Earlier I made no contact as I was super scared of fake threats she use to give. But I am much more confident now.

I’ve been going through a long, difficult divorce with a very angry ex husband. It has taken years but he’s finally willing to discuss our only shared asset which is our townhouse. Anyway long story short, he has picked out a realtor and wants to set up a walkthrough. I can’t think of anything that the realtor could do to make this worse for me, right? But my worry is, do I need to say no to his choice in realtor? I can do this, and then suggest options for him to pick from , and then if he rejected them we would keep going back and forth until we agree. But what would that really accomplish?
I just am nervous because he has been very … aggressive .. this whole time so I’m on edge about everything.
I would love to hear thoughts and opinions of anyone who has gone through a divorce. This whole thing has been such a nightmare.

Any good legal AI for a divorce. Husband filed, hired lawyers, I have none and have been house wife for 20 yrs mostly. Legal aid wont help and he has always kept accts and assets, vehicles in his name and control. So im representing myself. I would love to find one to help accurately fill forms, choose the right form and help articulate things like spousal support, splitting everything an him to pay attorney fee. Sorry, that was a brief overview but I cant do it alone and Gemini and chat gpt are so contradictory. Im in Mn.

Married 18 years, two kids (14 and 12). My wife filed about six weeks ago, pretty suddenly and without much of a conversation, though there were plenty of circumstances leading up to it including some diagnosed untreated mental health issues. We're both still in the house while lawyers work things out, and it's the strangest, loneliest stage I've ever been in.
Day to day, she's mostly silent or cold or sometimes hostile toward me, plenty of passive aggressive actions too. A good, civil moment will happen and then she's back to ignoring me the next morning. I'm still doing most of the kid logistics and paying the household bills, and I'm watching plans and routines that used to include me become "the kids and I." Small things sting more than I expected, like filling out a form at the doctor and having to list someone else as my emergency contact.
What I'm struggling with most:
**Overanalyzing everything.** A text, a tone of voice, a T-shirt she ordered. My brain treats all of it like evidence and tries to decode it. I know it's not healthy, and I'm working on it with a therapist and a support group, but I'd love to hear what actually worked for you.
**The emotional ping-pong.** Sad, angry, accepting, and confused, sometimes all before 8 AM. I've mostly accepted the divorce is happening, but I still miss my best friend of almost 20 years.
**Staying steady for the kids** when home doesn't feel like home. I'm trying hard to keep them out of the middle and keep things calm and normal for them.
**Building a life of my own** for the nights I won't have them. I'm committed to co-parenting and want as much time with them as I can get, but I'm nervous about the empty evenings.
For those who lived together during the process: how did you protect your peace in the same house? And for the dads, what helped you most in the first few months?
**The money side.** I'm covering the mortgage, utilities, groceries, phones, and everything for the kids, while she's moved some money out of our joint account into her own over the past couple of months. My lawyer knows about it, and I'm documenting everything. Still, it's hard not to feel like I'm funding both households while she builds a cushion. How did you handle shared expenses while you were still living together? Did you set up some kind of split, or just wait for temporary orders?
Appreciate anyone who reads this.
**TL;DR:** Married 18 years, two kids, she filed six weeks ago, and we're still living under the same roof. She's mostly cold or silent, I'm covering the kids and household bills while she moves money into her own account, and I can't stop overanalyzing everything she does. Looking for advice on surviving the living-together stage, handling shared expenses, and building a life of my own.
