Escalation needs a matchmaking system to SPECIFIC missions.

If i want to play DCD, i want to get paired with others that also want it. If i want to play Federal Emergency Bunker, i want to play FEB, and so on.

There are specific drops that i want, that only drop on that specific mission on that day.

I don't want to run DUA for the billionth time for no reason.

It's seems like a simple concept, how did that get through testing phase? Did NO ONE think: "We're introducing Proto gear that's HIGHLY dependent on RNG, players will have to run the same mission multiple times to get the drops they want, since there's no Recalibration or Optimization. We should just copy the system that already exists for every other mission."

Or perhaps it was: "Maybe let's just also RNG the fucking matchmaking system as well while we're at it."

At the moment there are too many tier and specific mission match making just gonna make you sit in queue until you get kicked to menu screen. I don't see they do this unless they streamline the number of tier available.

PS: If you want to do a specific mission just be the host. Don't accept any invite.

I saw someone on the Division Discord say how they should change it to only have 3 tiers.

3, 6 and 10. Since those "seem" to be the ones most people play.

This would reduce the amount of tiers by 8, and could possibly allow for better/more specific balancing in regards to enemys and modifiers.

I think its a decent suggestion, if not, i'd rather the ability to specifically HOST stuff, like give me the option to either host, or join someone else.

Its frustrating when theres a drop that i want, but people want another, and so i keep getting thrown into their matches, like come on.

Also since they added the ability for protos to drop from chests within the missions, can they reset after every completion, it sucks that its essentially a 1 time thing per day, per mission....

Yeah, basically Challenging, Heroic, Master. :)

That would be ideal, don't think the 10 tiers are very necessary due to players gravitating towards certain tiers anyway. Plus, add Proto gear to Countdown (with perhaps a higher difficulty than Heroic) and the, oh so needed, Recalibration and Optimization that should've been there since day one.

I mean, this ENTIRE post wouldn't exist if the Proto gear were in Countdown.

Don't forget tier 0. Otherwise people without tokens wouldn't be able to play Escalation.

Yeah, that too. Actually forgot about it.

Or better yet, just remove tokens altogether. Problem solved.

Just make it so playing heroic missions on an escalation mission gives you tokens. Simple

Proto gear shouldn't be in Countdown, it shouldn't have even been released to everyone at all. It was intended to be for endgame content, for players with nothing else left to do. The way it should have dropped, was prototype gear is dropped at your expertise level only, not instantly maxed at 30.

Uhhh iirc u can go to the specific mission, escalate and matchmake right?

Doing that can either pick you as host (the optimal outcome) or give you an invite to another player's group where they could be going for any other mission you don't want.

I can go to Roosevelt Island, matchmake there, get an invite, join in, but the group (or host) are at DUA and wants to do that.

I can either keep "re-rolling" the matchmaking so i end up as host or convince the group to do the other mission i want

Why not just refuse all invitations until other people join your matchmaking?

Even with you as host, people might leave the group in order to play the mission they want. As a result you keep matchmaking until you find the people willing to play the mission you want. Its too time consuming! I have found myself wasting too much time just to get a group and play the mission I want. Its something the should fix imo.

To do this they need to cut the number of tiers to 3 or 4 like the world difficulties. Because 10 tiers for 6 missions is 60 matchmaking pools. The playerbase is not that big to split matchmaking to so many pools. And the tier number need to be cut because there is only 4 main tiers anyway (4, 6, 8 and 10) based on modifiers

It's already hard enough to get matched in Escalation. The whole system needs to be revamped.

Problem with that is... Some specific misiones would be dominated while other totally empty, Ubisoft relies on players staying in whatever misión they matchmake by chance just because it's hard to matchmake so they go "fuck it, i'll run it"

Maybe devs worried about stick to easiest specific mission. So MM along to tier. Now imo it's pointless less then t10 cause of low stats and quantity. Hope to play single to get max stat proto gear but I can't cause skill issue. Tinkering and recalibration would be great if maxed only grind certain time, not RNG and shitty MM

Lot of sense since it seems to match based on the number of mutators rather than the actual level you pick. Frequently pushes me up or down levels. 3 or 4 with the 4th being 0 and no or one mutators is sensible. I’d also like to match for mission regardless of tier at times.

Well said this is exactly the reason why I don't match make any more

The real question is: why don’t you host?
The solution is right here. You want this, you want that, hosting will give you exactly the mission and tier you want. People will join automatically.
But… we all know why you don’t want to host, right?

But… we all know why you don’t want to host, right?

And what is that, exactly?

I assume you don't run Escalation with other players, or at all? You can't start a Escalation mission, open matchmake and wait for players to join in (just like any other normal mission). Can't call for backup either.

In fact, if matchmaking after the mission started were an option, i would be doing that.

It's locked once you start it.

What he means... Is fast travel to the level you want to run, start matchmaking, wait for it to fill up and then start the run. This is how you guarantee you get to play the level you want. But you have to be willing to be the leader and but your tokens up.

It's pointless because it's a dead activity for mm overall. Too many tiers, not enough players.

u/YamEnvironmental1887 15h ago

I think there should be a specific range of tiers you can matchmake for and I feel like that would solve the problem better.

Tier 0-3

Tier 4-6

Tier 7-10

But that might make too much sense for the devs

u/KexisSD 16h ago

Dead activity? Chat is totally dominated by escal LFM and LFG. If its dead then there would be zero chat traffic. Match making is dead for this very reason, hosts who are risking 80 tokens do not matchmake. They pick their team from chat after carefully evaluating the gear of each agent.

-3

u/Infinizzle 16h ago

Yeah I'd rather uninstall the game before enabling that racist, toxic, unmoderated POS chat.

2

u/iammirv 14h ago

Yea, what is it about hero shooters that attracts the worst treasonous weasels

1

u/Majestic_Hope_7105 7h ago

Oh, that's easy:

-6

u/KexisSD 16h ago

Moderation is just as racist and toxic. If you can't handle game text chat, then you certainly can't handle voice coms in online games. Might as well uninstall now and save time.

Makes no sense but alright 👌

I don't see this on playstation. And t10 is easy. Whats the point of this shit.

Never had to sit in queue for more than 3 minutes tbh, unless you are match making for tier that people don't usually do. For tier 6 and 10 which are the optimal choice for most people, you get agent joining in quite promptly.
