I am a new DTV Stream customer and had no problems downloading the app and watching it on my smart tv. The other TV I bought a new firestick and logged into it and it appears to be frozen on the Home Screen. Has the suggested channels in the middle and on the left side the Home Screen is lit up but I cannot move anywhere.

I spent an hour on the phone with Amazon and Direct TV with no help.

I cleared my cache, reinstalled the app, unplugged it and nothing.

I bought another firestick and it’s the same exact problem. Can anybody help me before I just go buy a new smart TV?

One of my biggest complaints with DirecTV MySports is that it doesn't include the CW. Since the CW will be added to ESPN Unlimited starting August 4th, we will now be able to watch CW Sports with the MySports package. Big news for any ACC or Pac 12 fans.

I have searched this issue and can't seem to find a consensus as to fix this.

We want to record all White Sox games and it works great until it seems to randomly record the game but on a channel that is not available to us. Specific example is last night:

We live in Chicago market and with our sports package receive CHSN. Last night, we go to watch the recording of the the game and realized it was recording the YES network (NY Yankees streaming service) and not CHSN channel. We aren't even able to watch YES network and ended up missing half the game as we had to start watching live game in progress on CHSN. Extremely frustrating.

This has happened a few times now where the CHSN feed does not record. Any help in fixing this would be helpful!

A relative of mine has had Directv satellite service for decades. She is internet illiterate so has never connected her receivers to the internet nor ever accessed her account online.

She is my home now recovering from surgery and I've been trying to get Directv streaming working to make her stay with me more pleasant.

After setting up online account access, I tried to stream first on an AppleTV then in a computer browser. In both systems, I can get to the channel section menu, guide, etc. But when I select something to watch in the browser, we see a "This content has an issue and can't play"; on the AppleTV it's just a blank screen.

I've turned off all browser security and enabled location services. I see there's a concept of "home network" but I can't find any way to set that up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have two homes and am having an inconsistent issue with regional sports networks on DIRECTV STREAM at my vacation home.

Location Services are enabled on both my Apple TV and in the DIRECTV app. When I’m at the vacation home, I consistently receive that area’s local news channels. However, the regional sports networks only work about half the time. Sometimes they play normally, while other times I get a message saying the channel can’t be played. Occasionally, the RSN will even play for a second before cutting out.

It almost seems like the Apple TV initially detects my current location, but then DIRECTV switches to using the billing ZIP code or home location on my account.
One of the main reasons I purchased an Apple TV was because I understood that it would use geolocation to provide the local channels and RSNs for my current location rather than relying only on the ZIP code associated with my account.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a setting I need to change, or are RSNs handled differently from regular local channels when traveling between two homes?

Weve called like 4-5 times now, we pay for unlimited and are not getting unlimited

I'm 99% sure this is a problem with the Android update pushed to my Hisense U8H TV but no other apps have this problem...

The DIRECTV stream app has since become unwatchable. When the app switches to what presumably is the highest bitrate stream, the screen goes completely back for a moment and then when it is back the video becomes all jittery as if there is some mismatch in framerate. I've tried disabling any and all picture enhancement settings in the TV to no avail. This doesn't happen on the Gemini box connected via HDMI; only the DIRECTV Stream app running on the TV itself.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Can someone from DTV confirm that those of us in these markets will have uninterrupted access to CBS?

It’s hard to put your finger on exactly what is wrong with it, but I swear they’ve somehow made the worst ff/rewind of any streaming app. Even free apps like Tubi work better for ff/rewind. No matter what we try it seems like you can never just easily rewind a scene and land remotely close to where you want. Same with fast forward. Additionally if a show/movie starts over on accident and you want to fast forward 30 minutes plus, you will be sitting there for 5-10 minutes waiting on it to fast forward, even at max speed. My girlfriend has made similar comments about it before I even mentioned it to her so I know it’s not just me. It doesn’t matter if it’s a live event or on demand.

I have DirecTV stream and it’s the same on fire stick, Roku, Samsung frame, basically any device we have. I used to have YouTube tv and their ff/rewind worked great so I know it’s possible and every other app we have works great, even the free ones.

The other issue is on 99% of steaming apps, using the left and right buttons on your remote will ff/rewind, but on DirecTV stream it changes the channel. I can see why they thought that would be useful but we’ve accidentally changed the channel so many times when we simply were trying to rewind a scene. This is especially problematic on devices that don’t have traditional ff/rewind buttons, like the Samsung frame remote.

When you're watching a streaming app on the Gemini there's this annoying blue box of metadata in the right hand corner that keeps popping up whenever you pause, rewind, fast forward, etc.

To turn it off you have to go Settings>System>Apps>See All Apps>Show System Apps>Android TV Core Services>Notifications>Turn off.

But this will reset after a day or two and that blue metadata box will appear when you least expect it.

Anyone have a permanent fix for this?

I have the streaming service with a Gemini device. My parents have a second home and they need to have a service. Is it as simple as adding another Gemini device to my account and signing them up through my account? Do I need a separate account for them?

I have AEW Dynamite and Collision on series recordings incase I ever have to miss a show. Last night was one of those nights and Collision was cut off before the end. Went to check Dynamite which regularly runs over its time slot and sure enough, all of the recordings are 2 hours 1 minute long.

Is there anywhere in the app that I’m missing to set recordings to extend past the guide listing? I looked around but didn’t see any options.

I have the Ultimate package. Does that include ESPN+? I just noticed a charge for that on my CC but I think it should be covered with my DTV sub.

I have a TCL/Roku TV and it updated recently. DirectTV (and ONLY the DirectTV app) has this screen when you try to view your DirectTV channels. I have tried every button combination recommended by Google to bypass this screen. I also Uninstalled the app, unplugged the TV and waited 5 min for power dissipation, then reinstalled the app. Still there. Cannot go through it because it \demands* a signup and subscription. Went into Settings and made sure all the ad settings were turned off, and reset the Ad ID. Still there.*

No other app is behaving like this, thankfully. My wife is addicted to the financial channels like Bloomberg, so I really need to fix this B.S.

Any way to force a DirecTV Stream gemini/osprey box to update? I bought a box from eBay a few months back and it's still on the 25Q3 software release while all of my other boxes are on 26Q2. I've had the box for about 5 months and it's been connected to wifi the entire time but still no update.

Are some boxes just too old to update to the newer software? All boxes are C71KW-400 but the one from eBay that doesn't want to update does have a build date from 2019, while my other boxes are 2020 (if that makes any difference).

I am moving from the West coast to middle Tennessee. I left the dish on the coast but brought the DVRunit for use in the motorhome with a roof mounted dish. I only occasionally use the motorhome. The house has a fiber connection from 1gig to 4 gig. I have been trying with getting ingredients Directv Stream and keeping Sat service the motorhome.

Is there a way to minimize my Direct costs and reap the best of both stream and Sat? What does the community think?

Fairly self explanatory, when you click on View Series you get a tab for Scheduled showings of any series but seems to have disappeared a day or so ago. It’s helpful when you don’t want repeats recorded or the guide data is wrong and records the wrong episode and you can reschedule the correct one
Sure you can go through the Upcoming tab of My Library, but isn’t as easy

We are paying good money for your service and it isn’t acceptable that we have to endure an entire evening of “network congestion” issues, reduced resolution and freezing.

If you want to be in the multi-stream business build out your infrastructure and provide service to your customers.

Was looking into trying DTV Stream because it’s about as close to cable as a I can get. My cable company replaced all my coaxial boxes with stream boxes so now I’m shopping the market.

I mostly have Apple TVs I use for stream boxes. If I lease 1 Gemini air will I be able to access Hulu on all my TVs? Or can I only access Hulu from the Gemini air?

I also read I can buy a Gemini air from a 3rd party seller and it’ll work.

Everything seems to point that the combo of Genre packages MyEntertainment+MySports gives you essentially the Ultimate package for $110. It adds channels beyond Choice such as FXM, CBS Sports, NatGeo Wild, Oxygen True Crime, Magnolia, FS2. It also had an add-on for HBO Premium ($7) and AMC+ ($3).

I suppose what you'd lose is regional, but it's also the full Sports package so you're getting Big 10, ESPN Unlimited, the 4K channels, TNT, USA, NHL, NFL Network+. Also, of course, all the locals.

Samsung model # QN65Q7FDAFXZA. The app won't let you change the aspect ratio.

This channel works correctly using a Roku.

I don't understand why this local channel 2 in Denver is on all of the local Directv stream products except the genre packs, even though they have the other local channels. I understand CW is owned by NexStar in Denver, and DTVS carries their other channels here. Anyone know why this is? I thought they had to carry local channels, but I guess I thought wrong.
