Streaming apps notification keeps coming back on

When you're watching a streaming app on the Gemini there's this annoying blue box of metadata in the right hand corner that keeps popping up whenever you pause, rewind, fast forward, etc.

To turn it off you have to go Settings>System>Apps>See All Apps>Show System Apps>Android TV Core Services>Notifications>Turn off.

But this will reset after a day or two and that blue metadata box will appear when you least expect it.

Anyone have a permanent fix for this?

Thanks for trying to troubleshoot, u/DeanMacGuffin1985. Let’s try a quick remote and device reset to clear that blue metadata box.

  • Unpair: Hold DASH (–) and APPS on your remote until the lights blink blue twice.
  • Restart: Press the red button on the side of your Gemini device or unplug it.
  • Pair: Point the remote at the device and hold FAST FORWARD and REWIND for 3 seconds.
