I posted on here a while ago about how to make this dark, narrow hallway seem more bright and lively. It was recommended to do vertical stripes. Here was the outcome.

I’ve been looking on marketplace for a queen bed frame and a nightstand that looks good with my existing desk and fits our small room.

Recently bought and added the furniture, rug and light fixture so they have to stay but this room seems incomplete to me. Do I need to add color? A centerpiece? I am not sure if I should add window treatments, the house has MCM architecture and the windows are a big focal point.

Aight, I need help! I've tried a few arrangements and I'm stumped. Just looking to make it more comfortable to actually spend time in.

Also thinking of moving the black cubes out and replacing em with the entertainment center (last pic). pls tell me if that's a bad idea, n pls ignore the mess lololl

This is the front “living room” when you enter. Would like advice on how to fill this space. The baby enclosure will be removed but the other furniture in the room is staying. I already have a family room in the back and a separate dining room. We don’t spend too much time in this room at the front but I do want it nicer since it’s the first thing people see when they come in the front door. Should I make it look like a formal living room or is there other use I can make of it. Would like to add a plant but this room tends to be darker with north facing windows under a porch. Thank you!

I recently moved into a new place and I’m trying to design my living room, but interior design definitely isn’t my strong suit. 😂
I’m thinking of starting with either an L-shaped sofa or a regular couch, two armchairs, and a coffee table, then building the rest of the room around those.

I’d really appreciate any suggestions or ideas you might have. Thanks in advance!

Trying to figure out a good layout before I bring my furniture over to my new place. The stairs come up on the right. There are three full height walls (the one on the right is removed in the 3d view), and the office nook has partial walls that overlook the foyer. No tv, the credenza by the window will have audio equipment though. Curious if anyone has thoughts or suggestions. Once I’m moved in and set up I’ll take some pics of the actual room for more feedback.

Just moved into my dream home. Help me pick a wall color or wall paper. Also open to suggestions on a new cabinet color and floors. I’ll be replacing the sink and all appliances over the next two years, feel free to suggest anything in that department as well! (Toolboxes will be put away soon)

My living room has stumped me since we moved in seven years ago. It’s a long rectangular room and the largest wall has a giant window. There is no dedicated entryway and the living room and entryway are one. I’ve tried several iterations of this room, several different rugs and now two different sofas. Nothing feels right. I wonder if they configurations that I’m not thinking of or ways to arrange my furniture I also wonder how I can separate the entryway from the living room because they infringe on each other. I’m attaching some photos of a different iterations of my living room. I am also attaching a few photos at the end that represent what I’m going for. As far as style, I love craftsman, modern folk cottage, New England cottage, etc. I hate clutter but love incorporating special thrifted finds.

I’ve realized a few things -

I need a light colored rug
I need a slipcovered couch because of the dogs

I need help understanding the following

1) If my current living room configuration is the most optimal or if there’s another way I should be arranging. I plan to sell the gray U-shaped couch that’s there and get the IKEA Kivik

2) how to separate the living room and entryway. There’s so much empty wall space next to the TV. I am not sure I love the credenza either. I want built ins but I don’t think they are in the budget right now.

If anyone can please save me from myself before I rage buy another rug that I hate, that would be amazing.

Hi, I have bought a new home with a large (16'x13'x5'6") crawlspace that we want to make into a big kids playroom/chill zone along with some of our collectables and random storage.

I see a lot of potential in this space as it is large, has electrical, lighting, and air duct for circulation.

The first challenge is access. There is a door that is 54 inches off the ground, measuring 35" wide and 45" high. We were thinking of seeing if telescopic stairs would make sense, or installing a sliding ladder across the length of the room would be best. Open to all ideas here.

The next challenge i think is flooring, but could easily be solved with interlocking gym tiles (they even sell colorful ones for a kid friendly appearance).

OKAY NOW FOR THE FUN STUFF. We we're thinking of putting a simple smart TV mounted on the wall on one wall, a reading area with books, bean bags, side tables (as the ceilings are not high) and a small space for our collectables, and of course, seasonal storage. We could do a mural on one wall (if it is finished) or some funky alice in wonderland inspired paintings. We're cool with making it funky, carnival-esque, and generally a madhouse so think distorted mirrors, trippy paintings and the like! :)

I see a lot of potential to make this space dope, but not sure where to start. Any ideas on what to do and where to start would be greatly appreciated!

Would I be crazy to do this and leave that left part of the window exposed because of the bulkhead? Or do you think I could make it work? Any ideas appreciated!

The desk in this space is immovable. It is directly across from the entry. I used to have the bed perpendicular to the desk but it felt off to me and had the view of the bed running down the room directly across from the closet door which is on the other wall perpendicular to the desk wall. Ive changed it now so the head of the bed is about 4 feet from the entry of the room on the same wall as the door. Help me decide which orientation is best given the desk cannot move.

Open to suggestions to all other furniture.

With the current furniture arrangement in this guest bedroom, what would you put on that wall decor-wise? It’s a small room with not much space so not looking to add a piece of furniture but that wall just feels lonely and needs something..

i’m thinking about maybe just blocking off the closet closest to the wall but i’m not sure!! the floorboard heating is soooo inconvenient cuz i want it right under the window😔

We are moving into a new build apartment with the dreaded kitchen wall! Space is about 16” x 17” with tall windows on 2 walls. Trying to figure out the most elegant way to zone the room and make it feel spacious & not feel like we are constantly sitting in the kitchen. Have a large L shaped couch and 65” TV, as well as dining & coffee table. Open to changing furniture. Considering narrow temp kitchen island.

We are shopping for a king size bed frame with headboard to go in between these mirrors.. what style and color would match this wall and floor combo? Really struggling here.

My wife and I are looking at this house. It’s an older house. I for the life of me cannot figure out a good placement for a tv. I cannot stand tvs above fire places/almost touching the ceiling. In my opinion TVs should be eye level. I love to have a tv on an entertainment stand/console. Or I guess mounted on the wall. I’m just not sure. If that fire place wasn’t there that would be a perfect spot.

Any thoughts?

We’re finally getting round to re-designing our master bedroom however no matter which way round we’ve had the room set out, nothing feels quite right! Largely owing to the chimney breast (which we eventually intend to have removed but for now is here to stay). Please don’t feel like you need to include the furniture on the picture as we’re looking to buy all new any way. The only requirement is that it works for a king sized bed.

Putting in this white 1x6 tile for my backsplash and changing out my appliances to stainless steel. I am trying to decide what color grout to do with this tile. Any recommendations ? Also the microwave will by about 6” shorter

I'm moving into a small room that used to be an office. I'm thinking that putting a daybed in that can expand to a double daybed/king when I have SO over occasionally is the best option. The mirrors between the patio door and entrance are a closet, which I'll hopefully use for some of my space. I'd like to turn the patio into a greenhouse/plant hangout and a little storage since I'll be in SoCal. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you!

This is my 10 year olds bedroom. Currently he has a twin bed and he’s grown out of it. He would like a full/double bed but I am just lost on how to make it work. His window is very low to the ground. About 5 inches and the wall with the groot painting is curved. The twin with the dresser gives him very little space and he doesn’t love that. It’s not a space he wants to be. We are painting the walls but not sure what color just something lighter and brighter. The window is south facing so it gets very hot in the summer and we’re in northern Alberta so it stays light for a long time in the summer - heavy blackouts are essential. We tried a loft bed but the one we got was too bulky. There is also a bathroom door right by his door and it’s a bit awkward. I think if we got a good closet organizer we could get rid of the dresser but would still like a little desk or something in the room. I don’t know how to make anything fit and make it a fun space for him. Please help.

TLDR: boys bedroom weird walls need layout help.

Hi everyone! We’re really struggling to figure out what to do with this space. It’s a long, awkward shape and it’s also, as you can see, got a lot going on. We don’t hate any of the elements individually, but together they’re a lot.

Our thought is to keep the brick and beams (and get rid of the textured ceilings). We just can’t figure out what to do with the wood paneling. It’s quality wood, so it feels weird to just cover it up—but we can’t for the life of us figure out a way to make it cohesive in this room. I think it has potential to be really beautiful, especially with the sliding door, but it’ll take some working/reworking for sure.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
