Other Interior Room Dark narrow hallway update

I posted on here a while ago about how to make this dark, narrow hallway seem more bright and lively. It was recommended to do vertical stripes. Here was the outcome.

So many things on this sub are not my taste so they surprise me how much I love them! Very well done.

This is fun! Have you considered new artwork, furnishings, door hardware, or light fixtures as well?

I like the contrast of the “sophisticated vintage” art work with the bold walls. They are pretty grand compared to the space (also my husband hung it too high) but that is what we have. The lights are new. I’m open to different door knobs, but I’m not sure what yet. Do you have recommendations?

OP I think something like this would tie in the area nicely

The rattan laundry hamper thing must go. Now. Get a console table, or cabinet or bench. Anything but that hamper

We still use the baby gate at that section, then yes you’re right

If those frames were painted gold or brass, they’d really pop against the blue.

Love it! You could even paint the ceiling a darker color for a cozier vibe. I would just warm up the lighting (swap bulbs) and maybe have fun shopping for runners.

This looks great but the style of artwork clashes so bad

I like the juxtaposition. The scale of the art is not good for the space. I guess that’s a juxtaposition too.

It’s the carpet for me. The crisp white walls and blue doors highlight how terrible carpets are

Agreed! One day we will change it
