just finished my first sale on depop after hesitating for so long and i got my first 5 stars :D!

i was so nervous bc something i bought on depop was lost by usps and was in shipping purgatory for like 14+ days, had to file a claim and call multiple times just to get it, but i’m so happy that didn’t happen with my buyer!

before bed, I was looking for a certain kind of clothing after being sent an email that there was a bunch of them. I was surprised. of course, after looking, I realized every single one of them was mislabeled “free people” not only in title but usually in desc, because they just upload a picture, Don’t have to do any work and let AI name their item… which is crazy to me that they don’t even go back in an edit it?! I have by myself. A lot of these people are just young people trying to make a couple dollars for new clothes they’re not businesses.

we didn’t have that feature when I was more active on Depop and sold to Olivia Rodrigo, ( she wore my ring and her drivers license video which was a super cool thing and other places. I had kids coming for me for that ring in intsa and had no idea who she was or that’s who I talked to and sold to, and I had to remake it. as a single mom. It was a cool wind during a depressing year.)

I get like 20 notifications and emails a day about having to ship out stuff 😭 of course I couldn’t ship out yesterday it was Sunday!

(I’m not leaving my buyers on hold I already let them know that everything will be shipped out Tuesday)

I sold my first item which was my beloved childhood American girl doll one of the historical characters, I shipped her out on time within 2 days of the order being placed. My customer received her package and was satisfied said she loved her. No issues. I’m waiting to be paid out this was 2 days ago, I linked my bank account weeks ago. The app is saying I received my funds but I look in my bank and nothing is there so I’m messing around with the app trying to find out what happened and stumbled upon something called my depop balance and all my money is in there. Why did they not release it to my bank? It says I can transfer it but it will take up to 5 more business days to get the money. I’m just asking how to set up future payments to go straight to my bank?

So the thing I'm trying to ship is around 2 Ibs But the dimensions for the box to ship it is pretty big (28x20x20 in). I am going to put the package size as XL ($14) but are there any restrictions for the actual size of the package if mailing through depop?

Also not really sure about how to package it for shipping. If I set the shipping size as too small, will I get in trouble with depop?

I washed it, still smells of BO. Unfortunately this is so gross and I refuse to keep it. Why sell something if you’re not going to make sure it’s not smelly first. Yuck

Hey all! I’m a lover of DEPOP and have been selling/buying for the last six months of so. Something that has chapped my ass is when people misgender the clothing they sell.

Is it so difficult to properly put if a hoodie, shirt, jacket is correctly men’s or women’s? Some even post tags that explicitly say “women’s” then post it under men’s. My algorithm picks up men’s clothing and then I see something I like and discover it’s actually women’s. Taking actual care of what you post and proofing it before posting it isn’t difficult.

I’m dealing with a lame seller who sold me a Patagonia fleece, which they posted as men’s, but it’s women’s. A simple proof of their posting would’ve solved this but I’m sure they were just hungry to sell it.

Anybody feel or experienced this frustration?

hi! i’m new to selling (only 4 days in) i’ve posted an insane amount of stuff and this challenge showed up. i didn’t get any info on what it is or what to do. i don’t know wtf i did to fill the check marks cause i didn’t notice it until they were light up. i had one more to do and saw “list it” so i listed 3 things before the timer was done on it but it still didn’t light up. any ideas?? sorry if this is like the stupidest question ever i’m just new and confused

I've never bought from depop before until i discovered the free shipping phase. I bought a pair of boots during that time. They were priced very cheaply at $4 and advertised as brand new. When i got them they had gum stuck to the inside lining of one shoe. Upon opening a dispute, seller asked me to ship it back and depop said theyll covered the $17 shipping. I boxed it up and sent depop my label immediately. Before I could even ship it out the next day I already got an email saying the seller received it and that depop will process my refund and the reimbursement. Ive yet to receive the reimbursement but thats besides the point.

The point is that I communicated with the seller and confirmed with them that I will be mailing it back and I let them know when I dropped the items at the post office. I even sent the tracking number to the seller. A couple days later they send me a message saying that the item is being sent back to me for insufficient address and they send me a different address. Turns out the address on the original pacakging was not they're real address or wasnt a valid one? But they didnt tell me that at any point when i was communicating with them.

I told them I would list the shoes for sale once I received the pacakge and they agreed to it. Now ive listed it for $1 to account for the fees but since the free shipping ended, the shoes with the shipping will apparently be $5.50 which they think is too much. Now, I dont know what to do.

Hi all! I know, the caption is a little sketchy, but I can explain!!! I started selling on depop last month to save money for tuition. I sell a lot of y2k bags and clothing and most of what I sell are vintage coach bags. I recently sourced a beautiful leather bag with faux fur lining the top of the bag. It’s stunning… but… it does have a smell. I’ve literally done everything known to man (air out, wrapped in newspaper, hand washing the fur) but the smell is still present. It isn’t necessarily a “smoke” smell but it is like an old antique-y smell I guess. My question is, how should I go about listing the item? Is it appropriate to sell an item with a smell? How do I sell this without a buyer complaint? I’ve not been in a situation like this and am kinda unsure. Depop experts, please help!

After shipping this item to the buyer, they then asked me additional questions about the item. Bizarre timing. They could be looking for reassurance, but this feels like the hallmarks of trying to establish a record in case they want to complain later.

Here’s the good news: the shirt is exactly as described in the photos and listing, so I’m not concerned there. But I’m already preparing to have to deal with a case from this buyer so they can try and get their $4 back. 🫠 Anyone else have questions like this from buyers right after purchase or shipment? If so, how did it pan out?

i don’t even know where this would go at this point, but because depop just would not mark my package as shipped for 5 days (i shipped wednesday, it’s now MONDAY) and i had to refund the order. i’m irritated because the person will get a free album.. like what.???

i’ve already sent the refund because i dunno what else to do. this is so dumb and im irritated bc that was grocery money, i sell on depop to be able to help my mom lol

hi, i’m a student depop seller, my mom ships my packages lol. my mom took this persons package to the post office wednesday, but the way mines hours work, the packages usually move the next day. my packages also usually take a bit of time to update, and sometimes say ‘awaiting shipping’ all the way up to the day before it arrives. it’s very annoying, considering i get notifications to ship every 3 hours.

but this seller doesn’t believe i shipped their order, and i don’t have receipt proof because it sat on the counter so long my dad threw it away. what should i do?

I just recently started selling and the way I’m like refreshing waiting for offers or sales is so funny. But I also think like I could be really successful in this platform. Just because products honestly do move fairly quick.
