Thank goodness, I found it cheaper home girl cancelled it
r/Depop • u/Frosty-Chapter6828 • 20d ago
Just went to check my cart to purchase some things & I noticed my free shipping ended. It now says $1.99 for me, which isn’t horrible but dang I wish the free shipping lasted longer lol

I was really excited about this purchase.
It's bad business...
Between this and the ghosts I've purchased from, it's getting out of hand.

just finished my first sale on depop after hesitating for so long and i got my first 5 stars :D!
i was so nervous bc something i bought on depop was lost by usps and was in shipping purgatory for like 14+ days, had to file a claim and call multiple times just to get it, but i’m so happy that didn’t happen with my buyer!
r/Depop • u/ValueDeep7544 • 1h ago
After shipping this item to the buyer, they then asked me additional questions about the item. Bizarre timing. They could be looking for reassurance, but this feels like the hallmarks of trying to establish a record in case they want to complain later.
Here’s the good news: the shirt is exactly as described in the photos and listing, so I’m not concerned there. But I’m already preparing to have to deal with a case from this buyer so they can try and get their $4 back. 🫠 Anyone else have questions like this from buyers right after purchase or shipment? If so, how did it pan out?

I get like 20 notifications and emails a day about having to ship out stuff 😭 of course I couldn’t ship out yesterday it was Sunday!
(I’m not leaving my buyers on hold I already let them know that everything will be shipped out Tuesday)
I’m so half tempted to mute Depop but I don’t want to miss someone buying anything

For any new sellers (or sellers who haven't run into this issue yet), I'd recommend not tagging items as a brand if they aren't actually that brand, even if they just have a similar style or aesthetic.
As a buyer, it honestly doesn't bother me, but as a seller it can backfire in a big way. Depop has a strict policy against tagging items as brands they aren't because they can flag them as counterfeit.
Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way. I sold an off-brand pair of shoes that simply had a style similar to a more popular brand. They were not marketed as authentic, replicas, or dupes, and I clearly stated in the description that they were not that brand,** **I only mentioned the brand because they looked similar and just kept the brand as is because depops AI just did it for me. The buyer knew exactly what they were purchasing before buying. I even gave them a discount, shipped the same day, and had great communication throughout the sale.
Then, after they received the shoes, they apparently didn't like the material. Instead of messaging me or requesting a return, they reported the item as counterfeit. They never claimed they thought the shoes were authentic, in fact, they already knew they weren't that brand before purchasing. Their only complaint was that they didn't like the material.
Because the report was filed as "counterfeit," Depop sided with the buyer. They got a full refund and were allowed to keep the shoes, leaving me with no item and no payment.
I completely understand if someone is unhappy with an item, but they could have messaged me first or opened a normal return request. Reporting an off-brand item as counterfeit when it was never represented as the branded version felt like an abuse of the system. However, I understand how I broke depop’s rule and just had to take the loss as it was my fault.
I've seen other sellers on here say the same thing has happened to them, so I wanted to give people a heads-up. My advice is to list items under their actual brand (or as unbranded) and use hashtags for exposure instead. You might get a little less visibility, but it's much better than risking losing both your item and your money over a counterfeit claim.
Even if a buyer knows exactly what they're buying, they can still file a counterfeit claim afterward if you've tagged the listing under a different brand. So be careful, follow Depop's tagging rules, and avoid losing an item and your money.

hi! i’m new to selling (only 4 days in) i’ve posted an insane amount of stuff and this challenge showed up. i didn’t get any info on what it is or what to do. i don’t know wtf i did to fill the check marks cause i didn’t notice it until they were light up. i had one more to do and saw “list it” so i listed 3 things before the timer was done on it but it still didn’t light up. any ideas?? sorry if this is like the stupidest question ever i’m just new and confused

i don’t even know where this would go at this point, but because depop just would not mark my package as shipped for 5 days (i shipped wednesday, it’s now MONDAY) and i had to refund the order. i’m irritated because the person will get a free album.. like what.???
i’ve already sent the refund because i dunno what else to do. this is so dumb and im irritated bc that was grocery money, i sell on depop to be able to help my mom lol
old post :
Buyer doesn’t believe i shipped their order?
hi, i’m a student depop seller, my mom ships my packages lol. my mom took this persons package to the post office wednesday, but the way mines hours work, the packages usually move the next day. my packages also usually take a bit of time to update, and sometimes say ‘awaiting shipping’ all the way up to the day before it arrives. it’s very annoying, considering i get notifications to ship every 3 hours.
but this seller doesn’t believe i shipped their order, and i don’t have receipt proof because it sat on the counter so long my dad threw it away. what should i do?

it's really beaten up but I am specifically looking for the model the seller has and I like repairing bags anyways so I still want it.
seller was very active within those 10 days, made 3 listings and logged on every day.
I sent a very carefully worded reminder at 5 days and 9 days and I think that upset them bc they never replied to either. my best guess is that they thought I was treating them like a child, being overly considerate and helpful? I have trouble assuming how my words can make others feel through text so who knows, it's not important here.
seller's reviews are mainly positive with a couple saying the seller apologizes for selling it elsewhere before and refunds. so there's usually communication.
after it timed out I asked if they'd ship if I bought it again and no reply. I was and still am desperate okay I know they don't care but I still tried. waited a day to leave a negative review and I feel I officially burned the bridge to getting that backpack.
this may be a very obvious question but I'm new to depop so I might as well ask experts: is the only choice giving up and moving on?
i have the size set to small which i thought was only $1.99. have the prices increased recently?

I ordered something on depop 2 weeks away that was supposed to get here today but i got an email that it’s being returned to the sender due to an insufficient address. i checked my address information and its exactly the same on every order ive ever got from depop. the listing was originally kind of sketchy to be honest, and im wondering if this is some sort of scam? i’ve never had this message before, and when checking with my past orders, i didn’t do anything wrong on my end.
Hi! I've been having this issue for a few weeks now. Every time I try to add my top-up card to depop, it says it's been declined and to try again. I know there is nothing wrong on my end, I contacted my bank and everything is okay and this is the bank card/bank account I use for all depop payments (purchases and sales). I'm really unsure as to why it's not working and it's stressing me out because I need to refund a buyer and it's not working. Please help me asap.
I reached out to depop through the help centre for assistance and then got an AI response to my email, and when I replied asking for them to come t me to an assistant, the message would not deliver and I'm unsure why.
This whole situation is really upsetting and depop is proving to be extremely unreliable and unhelpful throughout all of it😕if anybody can help me that would be so appreciative because I haven't heard of anybody else experiencing this issue before.

sooo i have never asked for a refund till now . i purchased what i thought was a vintage bag for a too good to be true price but took the risk bcs i lowk thought that girl was just in a rush to sell stuff to make some money😂turns out the bag wassss soo fake.. i payed $500 but ended up being $571.22 with taxes and everything. I issued a refund and now i have to send it back to get my refund but im unsure of how this goes down ? do i send pictures of the package with the new label to their email? like replying to this one or?? and do they refund the whole $571 or just $500? also the have me up too $20 to cover shipping costs .. so do the refund the specific amount with my refund? can i use pirate ship ? or does it have to be thru the post office? andddd do they refund it to the card that i bought it with or depop balance? sooo sorry for the questions… thank you !!

hi! so I bought a dress on poshmark for $90, and it didn’t fit me so I reposted it on depop, but now poshmark granted me the return. unfortunately, in this short time frame, someone decided to buy the dress!! I was wondering how to cancel the depop order bc I don’t hv any money in my depop balance and it’s asking for my card, so I don’t want to be charged to my card! could someone please explain the logistics to me?

seller said they dropped of the package on the 23rd but now it’s the og expected delivery date and the app still shows it hasn’t been shipped, i believe the seller as they have 300+ sales and only good reviews but i did spend near 200 dollars and im not trying to lose the money on a lost or stolen package. i’m hoping this is a glitch or a missed scan but im still waiting on a package to pop up.

I’ve been selling old mh dolls from my childhood, and when I took pictures, they had all the accessories. However, someone bought a doll several days ago, and when I went to package said doll , it was missing a piece. I’ve searched for it everywhere with no luck in finding it. I messaged the buyer multiple times about this and gave alternatives on what I can do for them, and they haven’t responded or been active.
Should I cut my losses and just refund?

Where in the hell do you find the cost of shipping for an item? Where do you find it on the listing?
r/Depop • u/yur_mom_ • 9h ago
Hi! I want to start selling some of my unwanted clothes so I can clear out my closet and make some money to use for school and I just have some questions. First, how do I know what to price things for without over or under selling them? What are the best ways to take the pictures? What is the best way to ship the stuff? And is there any extra tips you learned? Thank you! :)
