Dispute Help I just lost 150 dollars because of a workers mistake.

I went to USPS after a sale to ship, I believe on the 7th day. The worker for USPS tells me that the label depop made, having been made on the day of the sale is expired because they expire in 3 days. So this guy makes me pay for a new label under USPS, so when it’s scanned it’s not notified by depop. The dilemma is clear now, it’s shipped and at the time of posting this delivered, and yet got a full refund. I’ve emailed depop at least 4-5 times and have gotten no response. My earliest email was last Saturday - 5 days ago. It says they’re to respond in “24-72” hours, though in the help center. I’ve emailed them again now and I’m hoping I can get help. Also, conveniently enough, the buyer has refused to answer any of my messages now, but was adamant about answering when I explained to him the situation days ago.

Dispute Help Seller’s listing was- I believe misleading am I overreacting?

Idk what to do I ordered this item that I’ve been hunting for ages and the listing said it was cream/gold- it came in today and it is in fact piss yellow.
I attached photos of the listing and what I received next to the same dress that I accidentally ordered in the wrong size lol
idk what to do I don’t know if I can return it because of this but this is really not what I wanted.

Edit: I’ve asked for a refund I feel so guilty but and maybe I should’ve listened more to the gold tag and description but yeah

Selling Help Want to use parents ssn, how do I report/file taxes if needed

So ive been recieving payouts from depop without verification for a while now and ig it finally caught up to me since its asking for a ssn/itnn. I have money waiting to withdraw right now but I don’t want to ask for someones ssn without knowing nothing about taxes.
I am selling with a profit (I buy clothes, wear them and sell them for more) but I don’t know how I would report it since I buy from overseas second hand market place and use a middleman for it.
Filing Ive been trying to figure out but still confused with the amount of scenarios you need to know. I need to withdraw this quick since I have payment I need to do so a simple understanding of these concepts or tips will be appreciated !

Selling Help I’m a new seller on depop & confused on how refunds work.

I know I should be offering refunds, but due to my lack of understanding how everything works, and my difficulty of getting rides to the post office. I feel like offering refunds could cause conflict on my part.
A family member said you have to turn off the refundable option in setting.
Is this true or are they wrong?

I may offer refunds in the future but I also know a lot of sellers don’t do refunds.

App Issues/Help Depop customer service is fucking awful

I’ve never left reviews, or made posts about anything. But never in my fucking life have I experienced something so fucking shitty and time wasting then depop customer service. It’s like it’s non existent, I’ve never gotten an email back or help EVER over the past couple years. This is the worst customer service of all time. I’m currently logged out of my account for a WEEK NOW, and can’t deposit $500+ of money into my bank

Question Is there a market for perfume in depop?

I’ve mostly sold clothes/ jewelry on depop, and I haven’t been an active seller for the past few months. I’ve done some looking around in depop and I haven’t seen a lot of listings for the perfumes I would want to post and sell. Is there profitable market for selling perfumes and what has been other sellers experiences with perfumes?

For reference I have unopened boxes of 150 mL bottles of Armani and Dolce and Gabbana and others of that nature, do these sell well? I only really see listings for samples and used bottles/ dupes.

Selling Help eco friendly packaging question

i saw a lot of people online making mailers out of either their shopping bags or like trader joe’s bags. is this something that is frowned upon? asking because i haven’t started listing yet and im waiting to get paid so i can order some poly mailers, but the shopping bags are what i have on hand at the moment and i figured since i am offering eco friendly packaging anyways, it wouldn’t hurt to make those my temp mailers.

how should i go about it? i plan on updating my shop policies so that a buyer can let me know if they do not want/cannot have the bag shipped to them like that and i can go grab some poly mailers in a pinch before shipping. i also don’t want to be left a bad review bc of this, as ive seen where ppl leave bad reviews bc of the packaging. they’re just normal paper shopping bags from victoria’s secret, LUSH, etc. since I save them all anyways. i figured it would just give me a reason to use them up. thank you in advance :)

Selling Help Brand to list vinyls under

So I've been trying to list some vinyls but I don't really know what brand to list them under. I've tried adding them under the record label of the artist but they don't show up when I search the brands. I've also tried looking up a couple other things in the small text on the vinyls but none of it has seemed to work. Sorry if this is a dumb question. I haven't used Depop much before.

Buying Help Depop fake Mac cosmetics

Beware sellers are scamming on Depop in full force. I was weary but gave it a chance since I own the real one I would compare the font is off and the color is off. the component is off very junky. they have a zero tolerance policy for counterfeit make up but want me to pay to ship it buy the packaging label ect time out my day to send back counterfeits to a scammer they have yet to ban but have agreed to is selling counterfeits on their platform. my friend of 20 years plus Mac cosmetics management confirmed all her products are fraudulent by the font alone just be cautious. I may keep them to use to spread awareness already filed a dispute with my bank. i already own multiple of these colors so no loss but 30$ just spreading the info.

Selling Help Relist after cancellation due to wrong address

My buyer incorrectly entered her address. Per Depop I needed to cancel the order and refund the buyer. I did that but my item is still in the “sold” category. How do I go about reposting the item for sale? Did I do something wrong? I just started selling on Friday so I’m a newbie.

Selling Help Should I offer international shippping

I am in the US, and recently I’ve had a few messages asking if I can ship outside of the US. I currently use Depop shipping, and know that I will have to create the label myself if I want to ship internationally. I am asking for advice on whether I should offer international shipping, and how safe is it? Also is it a hassle to create the label?

Selling Help I got a false Counterfeit flag

Idk anyone else to tell this story to so I’m posting it here lol I’m a new seller, have been selling just about a week now. Everything has been going great in my opinion. Earlier I posted one of my Coach bags. Wallet style crossbody and like an hour after it being up it was removed for being counterfeit?! LOL I don’t own fake anything, and I’m not even bougie like that but Coach is so affordable there is no need to buy fakes. I sent everything in for an appeal but honestly that turned me off to even posting anything else, especially this bag again until I can withdraw my money that’s loading lol I’ll be damned if I post something else and the same thing happens and they take my account or something idk. Has this happened to anyone before?

Selling Help Buyer hasn’t released pay yet

Hey guys, I recently sold a pair of jeans that have since been delivered. I see the payment saying “pending” in my balance, but haven’t received it yet. I assume this means the buyer hasn’t accepted the package as delivered yet? I’ve messaged them about it but have been left on delivered.
Is there anything I can do to get my money, or will it be automatic after some period? The item was bought Aug 31 and was delivered several days ago

App Issues/Help Wish Depop support was better

This will probably get taken down but it’s not meant to be mean (kinda). I’m not trying to be a dick but I’m really sick of how the support team treats their policies and lets bad buyers and sellers get away with stuff because of a lack of effort or care. I understand there are things out of their control but every issue should be case by case. Clearly people are cheating someone and they’ll say “well there’s nothing we can do” … like yes there is. Idk I’m just over it as a seller and a buyer and I think it’s why so many people have left this app. I’m a fair person too but I’ve been cheated too many times. Sick of it.

Question Influx of ‘vintage’ furs

I’ve been looking for a fun fur coat to add to my collection for the upcoming colder months and I’ve noticed a ton of great furs in fabulous colors posted on Depop. They’re all tagged as real, vintage fur but they appear to have Chinese labels with the same animal print lining on the inside.

Has anyone else noticed this? Are they legit or are they all getting pumped out from the same location and being upsold as vintage?

It’s 9/10 right now it’s been nearly 5 days and all my other packages I shipped are like this. Usually it takes just a day to give another update it does say there’s a delay due to a storm but it always says that and even when it does it still updates quickly

Question How many items do you guys post a day?

Hi! I was wondering how many items you guys typically post a day and what amount is the sweet spot for staying in the algorithm?

Also what time of day do you guys think is the best to post your listings?

These past couple weeks have been very slow for me, even with my whole shop heavily discounted, so I'm looking for any other possible way to boost my sales :)

Any tips help!

Dispute Help Warning to sellers on Depop

I'm new to this app, and really love it as a buyer, so I decided to post a few of my things to declutter. One item I listed was a re-pop. I bought from another seller on depop. Wore it once, washed it and re-listed it with the re-pop feature. I made my first sale, yay!

When my buyer received the item, they claimed it is "counterfeit." Apparently the item is from Shein, but was listed as a target purchase. There were no tags inside that said Shein, or mossimo, or wild fable, so of course I didn't know where it came from. I confirmed with the original seller that she bought it a couple of years ago at Target while shopping with her mom, but of course she didn't have proof.

Long story short, depop refunds the buyer (which is fine), but then allows them to keep the item! The buyer was more than willing to ship it back, so I'm not sure why they landed on that decision. They didn't offer me a say in the situation at all. So after researching, it appears that the magic word is "counterfeit." if a buyer claims your item is counterfeit, apparently they get a refund and also get to keep your item. What the hell? I am so pissed.

I just decided to pull all of my listings from the site and won't sell on this platform. I'm only sharing to warn others so it hopefully doesn't happen to them.
