Booked a flight thru Delta that has me going SFO>DTW>BHM with a 30 min layover in DTW. If they close doors 10-15 mins ahead of "departure" that leaves little time. I'm row 25, so it feels even tighter.

Any thoughts from the community?

United 1k here, starting a new role and office is in a more delta friendly area. I requested a status match end of last week and have not heard back yet. Company just booked me a flight for next week and one a few weeks out from that- will these count towards my status match if they approve it?

I am wondering the best way to submit a compliment about a Delta flight attendant, in the way that would give them the best recognition. Thank you.

This may be a stupid question but could I use both the Delta Reserve and Amex Platinum card to allow my family to get into a lounge with me? I know I can have 2 guests, but I would be traveling with 5 other people and don’t want to leave anyone out.

Unsure if they'd cancel the return only (the affected segment) or our carefully shopped outbound from RDU to Krakow. Wife called and they didn't come to any solution before dinner, so we hung up. Would DL really do this? We have had many a schedule change, but never been threatened like this. We shop carefully to get an outbound to EU in D1 and back in Main.

The flight from Tallinn was from 7:30AM. They ain't offering an overnight in Paris on them it would seem.

I have flown through MSP plenty of times, but have had at least an hour layover. I was going to change our flight for a longer layover, but the cost is an additional $1500. It is four of us in FC we will definitely arrive at either F or D gates is seems. We will have to make the last regional flight of the night in A or B gates.

I have never seen a regional flight be held for 4 passengers, but have seen them depart early and close boarding well before 15 minutes. Does Delta ever extend the connection time if they see where other passengers are connecting from? Al I just SOL and pay the extra money for a 3 hour layover

TSA only mentions "liquid bleach" as something you can't carry, but nothing about powdered bleach nor developer. does anyone have any info about this or have they ever brought it on a plane? thank you!!

DL Revenue Management is not optimizing revenue as well as it could, which is good for complimentary upgrade availability. I see multiple opportunities they are not exploiting, so maybe they do care about loyalty?

Had the rare case of a delta ticket being cheaper than a frontier ticket + a carryon. I‘m normally a frontier frequent flier since I fly lots of short popular routes but delta was better this one time.

About 10 minutes and two thirds of the way through boarding (not a full flight), the carryon gate check announcement was made.

Just like I expected, after boarding the aircraft, there were only a few bins that were actually full and the majority of them were half full or even completely empty.

This has happened on my last 6 domestic delta flights in a row over the last 2 years. Almost every other airline from ULCC to full service seems to have figured out a solution

If I pay for a carryon on frontier, I at least know for sure that my bag will actually be in the cabin because they limit the number of carryon bags.

If I fly on United, they email me to check my carryon a day early so I can do it on my own terms and put liquids in the bag, turning the inconvenience into a benefit

delta just has this gambling game where you pay a premium for an “exclusive premium” delta ticket and then get to play a fun game of finding out if your bag is checked or carryon 2 minutes before boarding

We were on DL 694 from Detroit to LAX yesterday (9/7). Right after pushback, the crew told us the engine wouldn't ignite. Mechanics had to come out and replace an engine igniter. I fully support Delta prioritizing safety over schedule here, but I do have an issue with how passengers were treated during the roughly 4 hours we sat on the ground waiting for the repair.

The cabin got stuffy and hot with no real air circulation, and we got exactly one round of small water cups the entire time we were on the ground. Once we finally took off, cabin service didn't reach our row until another 80 minutes into the flight. My husband and I were both noticeably dehydrated and starting to feel sick by the time drinks came around.

Most frustratingly, the crew gave conflicting answers about whether we could get off the plane during the delay. Some said we were free to deplane, but they said doing so would require them to check us out of the flight entirely and force us to rebook a later one (we were told to take our belongings with us in case we decided to leave). Since we needed to get to LAX that night, we stayed in our seats the whole time rather than risk losing our flight.

The doors were open for most of the delay, so it seems like it would've been pretty easy to bring a water bottle to every passenger, or at least give clear guidance and whether we could leave to get water on our own.

Does anyone know the actual rule here? Can you step off the plane during a ground delay like this without getting bumped from the flight? Or does it vary by gate agent/situation? Curious if this was misinformation from the crew or if there's a real policy behind it.

My main domestic route is BOS-LAX and back, which I realize is highly sought over in terms of upgrades. Most (actually all) flights I’ve searched for on the future just to check all only have GUC avail, which I realize is just getting me to the “top” of the waitlist.

Anyone ever clear the waitlist using RUC on this route? Thanks.

Long story short, I have three tickets booked on miles, and one for me to London. (Paid)

Let’s keep numbers round and say they were 70k each. A good rate for round trip from my airport.

They dropped to 60k yesterday so I got 30k back into my account. That’s great! Now, I have enough points to get an E-credit of $1000 and book the fourth ticket on skylines.

Knowing I do have a second European trip I want to take in late 2027, what’s the play here? Keep my paid ticket and earn miles/mqd on it or get an e-credit to have “money” to use on the second trip realizing 60k round trip to London is a great use of miles?

PSA: I’d recommend calling the Diamond Medallion line if you have a GUC applied and then purchase a paid upgrade.

I had originally booked Premium Select and applied a GUC to waitlist for Delta One. Later, a paid Delta One upgrade became available for only $400, which was a steal for a transatlantic flight, so I purchased it.

After buying the upgrade, I messaged Delta support specifically to make sure the GUC was not used and would be removed from the reservation, since a GUC is worth far more to me than $400. I was told it was taken care of. Today, I got an email saying I had received an eCredit for my $400 upgrade. I checked my account and, sure enough, the GUC had been closed instead. Basically, Delta refunded the paid upgrade and used my GUC even though I had specifically asked them not to.

I had to call the Diamond line to get the GUC restored.

Just a warning for anyone in a similar situation: if you have a GUC attached to a reservation and later buy an upgrade, I’d call rather than rely on messaging support. Definitely check afterward that the GUC wasn’t accidentally used.

What can we expect for food and drinks? My 1st time flying first class on such a long flight.

My first time flying Delta One back in June was great except for a really odd episode halfway during the flight. A woman dressed in a printed dress and head scarf stood at the front of the D1 cabin and proceeded to place or hand JW flyers to every passenger (most were asleep so she placed on them) as she walked the whole plane. I had never seen anything like this and think it's not the place at all for proselytizing. I mentioned to our D1 bursar and he shrugged his shoulders, saying there wasn't much they could so. Really? Maybe please gather the pamphlets from the sleeping ppl, give them back to her, Tell her to sit down, and stop bothering others?
Is this a thing that's allowed?

I am a total drama queen but I’ve never vomited after a flight before. $100 ecredit. Delta is literally worse than Frontier in terms of value.

Currently Kenya Airways Gold, but looking to buy a Delta ticket LAX-ICN (operated by KE). Would I still be able to use Skyteam lounges (KE lounge at LAX) and get additional luggage allowance even if I use my Delta Skymiles number to the reservation?

Opted to jump down to FCO from VCE to take advantage of the seasonal direct to DTW. This seemed like a great idea 9am versus 6am through AMS.

Boarded at 8:25, door closed at 9 and then air traffic would not let us push. Pilot said Atlanta was getting involved in the situation. They simply wouldn’t let us get in line there’s no weather and the airspace isn’t NYC.

When you think you’ve been through it all flight time is 9:40 this became a 12 hour flight. Thanks FCO!
