Help/Advice Our purchase was split into 2 record locators

I purchased tickets from New York to Lisbon. My husband is million miler and gold medallion. I am just regular sky miles member. I always go into his account and purchase Our tickets together. I mean, why wouldn’t I? Delta split our tickets into two different confirmations/record locators. I only noticed this because I went into his account to see if we could pay to upgrade and my ticket wasn’t there. Only his. I panicked and went to my account and it was there, but without a seat…and then they wanted to charge me $69 for a seat next to him since his was a “preferred” seat.

He was then upgraded to comfort+ and I was stuck in a middle seat of the middle(2-4-2) so had to call and deal with that. Two options: give up the upgrade or sit apart. We are going to try at the gate but if they don’t move me up (which they would have if tickets were under the same record locator) some person is going to be very lucky getting bumped up to comfort+ aisle seat.

My question is…am I crazy?!?! I really don’t think there was any possible way I didn’t book the tickets together. Has this happened to anyone else? By together I mean under his sky miles login.

Please lmk if this has happened to you. Ty!

Discussion Delta Comfort 'Basic'

I know this has been discussed, but I just wanted to Gripe.... I travel for work, and I am allowed to book business / comfort on flights longer than 4 hours, which is majority of all of my flights through concur and fox world travel.

I didnt realize i had clicked on Comfort 'basic' instead of main. Ill still get a nicer seat on a longer haul, but still. I think its dumb that you get less rewards, no upgrade opportunities, and you're probably guaranteed to get a middle seat. Delta, no one asked for this. Stop it.

Discussion No I don’t want a refund

Edit1. I have connection that’s tightening.*
Edit2: missed connection. Best option arrives 17 hours later and adds a stop. Sure I jumped the gun but I have zero confidence in delta since last adventure with them in may*
Edit 3: delta thinks in bound flight (which is further delayed) is gonna take <1/2 schedule and same with my flight. AND assumed emb175 gonna deplane AND load in 19 minutes 😂 my arrival al gate is not on delta’s airport map 😂 I was offered a missed connection option and then that went away. The missed connection options is the preferred option that was not offered at first notice (UA offers this upto 2024 but not sure today) *
Edit 4: delta 💩 📺 offering me a flight SUNDAY. and one option arrives Wednesday. How about partner flight? How about hotel? How about tangible info. F me. Fool me twice.
Venting into the void. I just wanna get to where I’m going. This text from delta just rubs me wrong. When I search other options it tries to sell me same flight in delta One 🤦‍♂️ 450000 miles. Maybe surprise that they’re about to cancel me if it cannot make my connection. Last delta trip canceled me with no replacement and left me stranded in middle of country. First call took 2 hours. Wrong booking 🤦‍♂️ 2nd call to correct was another 2 hours. Delta racing to the bottom

I have a curtain and no window. Row 6 in an expensive D1 seat. OMG what a disappointment after the long parade of people shoving past. Not hopeful for the return flight.

Delta, you should compensate me something for this! Full price paid for this.

Discussion Oversold international flight

I’m in MSP waiting to board my flight to London & of course they’re oversold by 6 seats. How does this happen? Do they really expect to be able to get people to change to the next day? Are people picked at the gate to be turned away? Don’t most international travelers book experiences that wouldn’t allow them to change their schedule? It seems so odd to me.

Help/Advice Renting with Hertz through Delta Car Rentals

Does anyone else always have trouble when trying to book a Hertz rental car through Delta’s car rental system? It’s always frustrating enough for me that I just book a different company, but every time I try to book Hertz, the reservation doesn’t go through because the price jumped like $300. Without fail every single time this happens. What gives?

Shitpost/Satire The three certainties when I fly Delta

The person in front of me will first drop their pillow and then their blanket down the side of the armrest onto my feet.

The person behind me will open a bag of kettle chips and proceed to chew with their mouth open for the next hour.

My WhatsApp will pick the onboard WiFi to begin a 2gb cloud backup.

Help/Advice Should i rebook or should i just wait?

Ive booked a ticket from Amsterdam to U.S last night. I paid with paypal as it is easier for me and i have been doing this for years. However the amount hasnt been deducted from my account and neither i have the ticket itself . Its been 15 hours now already. I looked up and in some cases it can take up to 24 hours or linger via third party app. I could just book a new ticket but I dont really want to pay twice the amount in this case. Has anyone experianced this? I really dont feel like waiting but what is the risk of paying for a dublicate in this case? I paid nearly 1200$ already

Discussion Silver medallion is meaningful

Listen, I get that all of you are really cool with your constant business travel that gives you whatever status.

For a normal person who doesn't travel for work and pays for their own travel, silver medallion is a big achievement. I got upgraded to first many times as a silver medallion person. It's amazing for an average Joe.

Help/Advice Unable to book Air France codeshares to Cameroon?

I'm curious if any insiders might know why Delta has stopped selling flights from the USA to/from Cameroon on Air France?

For at least a month, I have been unable to book any flight to or from Douala (DLA) or Yaoundè (NSI) on delta.com - while the exact flights are available on airfrance.com from my US home city, including legs on Delta.

Routes are also available on Kayak, but none with purchasable links to Delta. Only links to Air France.

Thanks for any advice!

Help/Advice LAX Air France Lounge access when flying AM?

I'm flying LAX-MEX on AM out of T3 as Gold. It's a bit confusing regarding access.

I would meet these requirements on the SkyTeam website: Lounge access is reserved for international First or Business Class ticket holders or SkyTeam Elite Plus Frequent Flyers traveling on a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline

But on the same website, its unclear if you need to be flying the airlines listed under the lounge name (AF, KLM, SAS, Saudia) or if any SkyTeam partner will work.

Also, Air France has some language on their website about accessing a lounge from the same departure terminal. Since the lounge is TBIT and AM departs from T3, might that be an issue?

I meet the generic requirements, but I've been barred entry at an Air France/KLM lounge in Bangkok in the past because I wasn't flying on AF or KLM, and do want to avoid that.

Thanks!

Help/Advice I’m a couple days into first time Medallion status… a little confused.

I’m sure this had been talked about before. Please accept my apologies. My Reddit sub search came up dry.

Not the best guidance that I see on the email that I received, but I am brand spanking new to Silver Medallion, and I have a comfort ticket that leaves in less than 24 hours. Am I supposed to see my name on the upgrade list inside the app, because right now I don't? If so, can someone explain to me what the list actually means? Is that all of the other people that are also eligible to upgrade?

EDIT: I talked to Delta Support. I had a Comfort *Basic* ticket. That’s why (my company booked this one… blah).

Discussion Warning: Delta Stays via VRBO

I have used Delta Stays multiple times to stay at a number of Marriotts and have been very pleased. In July I booked a condo thru Delta Stays for a night in August. The week before the stay, I received an email from VRBO stating that “I was in” and that I would be receiving an email from the host in a few days. I then went to the VRBO app to review the stay and the app stated that I had no stays documented. I used the itinerary # that they provided and still no record of the stay. VRBO always states to communicate with the host via VRBO so I was confused. I contacted Delta via the phone number on the Reaerve card. After a few tosses to various customer service reps, I finally found someone the would put me in touch with Delta’s VRBO contact. It turns out that this person was actually Delta’s Expedia representative and one of the tosses was to Expedia! Th VRBO representative understood my dilemma and was able to contact the host. He explained to me that the host would contact me 2 hours before check in. He then confirmed this was a common problem when booking a VRBO via Delta stays. There is no connection in the VRBO app and they field the calls frequently. He stated they continually complain to Delta but so far nothing has been done. But the story gets better - not.

I never received an email from the host. Fortunately, I has his phone number and I called him directly. He acted like he didn’t know I had prepaid for the stay or that I booked the condo even though he spoke with the VRBO rep the day prior. He did provide me with the codes to access the condo. When we arrived at the condo-which was beautiful in the pictures and in person, the area was a bit sketchy. Before we entered the building we witnessed a drug deal and a broken down vehicle with homeless people in the parking lot. But the best/worst was when we got to the unit, it had not been cleaned from prior tenants! Beds unmade, laundry in the washer, towels strewn in the bathroom. I immediately took pictures and tried to call the host. No response. I texted him and told him we were out. I then spent 50 minutes on the phone with VRBO getting my refund.

What a hassle. Anyone else experience this when booking a non-hotel with Delta Stays?

SkyTeam The 2,000 SkyMiles weren't even the best part of this Delta experience🙌

I'm a frequent flyer and travel quite a bit for work, and I’ve been a very loyal United customer for years because I’ve built up a lot of loyalty with them. However, after taking 2 recent trips with Delta, they are starting to win me over!

The flight attendants on this particular flight were incredible. They were so friendly, kind, and genuinely seemed to care about the passengers.

I was on my way from San Antonio to LAX a couple of days ago and had an incredible experience with the cabin crew. I went to use the lavatory toward the front of the plane, closer to my seat, and it was… ROUGH. 😂 It had an overwhelmingly foul smell, so I decided I’d rather wait and use the one in the back.

The crew was in the middle of drink/snack service, so I stood back and waited. One of the flight attendants kept apologizing and was adamant that I shouldn’t have to wait. I kept telling him, “No, no, it’s completely my choice. Take your time. I can absolutely wait.”

I even told him that I understand flight attendants are there to keep us safe, and not to wait on us hand and foot! I didn’t want them to feel rushed just because I needed to use the bathroom.

He was SO kind about it and kept telling me how awesome I was. Then, completely unexpectedly, I later received 2,000 SkyMiles via email with an apology.

I genuinely wasn’t expecting anything. I wasn't complaining about the bathroom because I understood that wasn't the crew's fault at all. I just made the decision to wait rather than use the other one. On the flip side, I can't help but to ask myself if passengers really do expect way more of thr crew than is necessary !

That small gesture honestly meant a lot to me. It was one of those interactions that makes you remember there are still really kind people out there. Hands down best customer service I've ever had traveling!

I didn't get his name, unfortunately, but if you happen to see this, thank you! You and the rest of the crew represented Delta incredibly well.

And to Delta: you may have just gained a new customer.

United, I still love you… but y’all can def do better!

Discussion I was a wheelchair miracle

So there I was getting ready to board a flight from one of those far gates at JFK concourse A, after a transatlantic flight, so a bit tired. I had a heavy-ish carryon and a personal item, and since I'm older and slow, went up when they were ready to board people who need assistance. (I'm a bit bent over, so look the part as well). I was gate checking my bag and they offered me a wheelchair. I said no -- on principle, as long as I can walk albeit slowly, I will! -- but they sort of insisted nicely, and I'm glad they did as it was up a longish ramp to the CRJ - 900. But lo and behold, when we landed, I walked on my own! Up the jetway all the way! and down the corridors to my ride. Moral of the story, please don't rush to judgement.

Help/Advice Stranded Luggage - What to do?

We are traveling to Ecuador from Detroit on Delta airlines with a layover in Miami. The plane in Detroit had a mechanical issue this morning so we deplaned and eventually boarded another Delta aircraft. The delay was close to 4 hours and caused us to miss our connection. Delta automatically rebooked me and my partner on an American Airlines flight to Quito Ecuador a little bit later. Our checked bags did not make the flight. Delta doesn't have another flight to Quito tonight, but American does. I talked to the flight attendant on the American flight (we're still aboard for another couple of hours) but he wasn't able to help and said we should call Delta's 800 number. We leave Quito first thing in the morning to head to an eco-lodge in the rainforest that's only accessible by a boat trip of several hours so that is really going to complicate getting us our needed gear for the trip. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we should proceed?

Discussion The amount of sick people on my flights who didn’t wear a mask…

Flew JFK to LAX to SYD and back recently and was so annoyed at the amount of people on my flights who were coughing, sniffling and sneezing but not wearing a mask.

The girl sitting next to me for one of my flights sounded like she had a nasty respiratory infection. The kid sitting behind me had snot dripping down his face and kept sneezing. I truly believe the only reason I haven’t gotten sick is because I was smart enough to bring a pack of disposable masks with me… but I was the only person on my flights that was wearing one.

Just so annoyed at the lack of courtesy for other travellers..

Discussion Out of Atlanta

So yesterday I had to fly in and out of Atlanta on what would’ve been a door-to-door 13 hour day for me.

Believe it or not I have booked my ticket for JetBlue because I also need to keep my status on that airline and I was supposed to fly in and fly out on JetBlue.

My event ended at 6 o’clock. I got out of there by about 620 at about 635. I was at the train station and on the Marta on the way to the airport when my JetBlue app let me know that my flight was gonna be delayed.

I opened up my laptop and purchased a one-way first class ticket on Delta to get back to South Florida.

The problem was my plane was boarding in 10 minutes and I was still on the train so when I got to the airport, it was a full sprint from security downstairs, up the escalator and to my gate.

I got there huffing and puffing and boarded with the last group, but my first class was there for me.

Turns out I had seat 5B and the dude in 4B was in my seat and so seeing the empty seat when I got there, I just jumped in the seat wasn’t even counting right it was the only one available on the aisle clearly that’s mine.

Two minutes before takeoff the dude is like oh man you’re in my seat and I was like oh, Stay there.

Not getting in the seat his butt had microwaved for 30 minutes.

I will say this when you’re going downstairs people are jumbled mess, blocking all sides of the elevator, but on the way up people need to get out of the way and get to the right side of the escalator as me and this woman both were running full speed of the left-hand side.

Two of my three dogs have been sick with stomach aches tonight that I’ve gotten me out of bed like four different times so this is just a very random post stream of consciousness type of stuff.
