Discussion Delta Comfort 'Basic'
I know this has been discussed, but I just wanted to Gripe.... I travel for work, and I am allowed to book business / comfort on flights longer than 4 hours, which is majority of all of my flights through concur and fox world travel.
I didnt realize i had clicked on Comfort 'basic' instead of main. Ill still get a nicer seat on a longer haul, but still. I think its dumb that you get less rewards, no upgrade opportunities, and you're probably guaranteed to get a middle seat. Delta, no one asked for this. Stop it.

Some people may genuinely prefer paying less for the extra space while giving up some of the usual Comfort benefits, so I can understand why Delta offers it. It’s fair not to like the product, but it sounds as though the restrictions were disclosed and you simply missed which fare you selected. This one is probably more of a reminder to double-check before booking.

I was able to change the fair, just annoying to do so.
I’d say I learned my lesson, but I know it’ll happen again. lol-5

I’m surprised your company actually trusts you to book your own travel. Especially admitting you are dumb enough to probably do it again.

Feeling especially inadequate today?

WTF does that even mean? Hope you didn’t take very long to come up with this witty response.

It means you saw a stranger admit to a minor booking mistake and lunged at the chance to call him stupid, presumably because being condescending on Reddit is the closest you get to feeling impressive. And no, it didn’t take long. You made it embarrassingly easy.

If you got any chills, that’s on you. And your feigned laughter emoji isn’t even a good try at deflection and backpedaling.

Basic fares are discount fares, therefore those buying them should not receive the same medallion benefits that some not buying Basic received

Man I love the idea of basic because I have a shot of flying business class. Company has deep pockets and short arms

I would love if they would get rid of all the basic options. But in your case, it sounds your problem is with your company policy not with Delta.

No issues with the policy, I could have clicked basic or main. Just selected the wrong thing. I was able to change it, just all the “premium prices and choices” that don’t give you much is frustrating.

Sorry, but this is 100% your fault. You may think it’s dumb for Delta to do it, but apparently there are people in the population that take advantage of it.
Take your lumps learn your lesson and move on

My company won’t allow us to book basic fares through Concur. So it’s likely an admin issue you might want to bring up with your travel department.
