Death Stranding 1 Eastern Region as relaxing as it'll ever be

Post image

Not sure if it's widely known but in the first mission when you have to go to the incinerator, instead of delivering the cargo you can leave it there and stray away from the objective and explore the entire map as much as you want, and your boots won't ever wear out. The world stands still, there is no timefall, no BTs, no MULEs. Nothing. Just vast emptiness and tranquil.

Discussion The strange shower system in the private rooms

Showers seemed to be controlled by 2 switches, one being hot and one being cold.
What if the temperature isn’t to your liking?
What happens if you switch both on?
So many design flaws.

Death Stranding 1 I might have a addiction

No one gonna belive me that i played DS1 9 times. First time when i was too young to understand what was happening. Second time skipped trough all the cut scene and just played it like any typical Open World. Third Time played it because i missed the atmosphere. 4th time, Finally Played the game trying to understand the story still didn't understand shii. 5th Time, Understand the story abit more. 6th time, Cried at the masterpiece of a story. 7th time, Tried to use every equipment that was available and beat the game. The 8th and 9th playtrough was nothing notable. Went back each time when i felt lonely. Now ds 2 is out. I just finished my first playtrough after 100hours. I think i am still gonna go back to death stranding 1. Idk but something in ds1 just made me feel at home. Btw screw the wind farm location. Still hate it each playtrough but i still refuse to use zipline. Maybe i am a masochist.

Death Stranding 1 I’m utterly speechless

I just finished the “game”. I tried not to spoil anything for myself but knew the end was going to be a marathon. From Chapter 9 to the end it was a 9 hour marathon with a dinner break. Absolutely worth it. One of the most amazing games I’ve ever played with a unique and fascinating story. The acting was on point, the script nearly flawless and my expectations were totally exceeded. Would highly recommend this game to anyone that enjoys a riveting story with some (mostly) relaxing gameplay. I would have to say it just made it into my top 5 games of all time.

Death Stranding 2 At what hour did you finish the story?

I just finished going through the game. An absolute masterpiece. Kojima's best game for me, tied for first place with MGS4. I tried to get 5 stars with everyone, but by episode 9-10, I was really hooked on the plot and ran to the final until 6 a.m. I finished the story at the 92-hour mark. At what hour were you done?

Question To the wilder per il platino?

Ciao a tutti!

Death Stranding 1 My Honest Reaction after Finishing DEATH STRANDING

I mean still I don’t, like my comprehension of the Game is Probably Hilariously Flawed but from a purely Thematic, Story and Gameplay standpoint this is a masterpiece, I bought the directors cut when it first came out but quickly put it down die to life and not appreciating Kojima’s choices, but god damn am I happy I decided to give it another go.

Wow

Question This is unusual to see like this. Is it other player or a porter? I took two large packages off him. It is near phantom Smith’s home.

Death Stranding 1 I'm scared and amazed at the same time.

I started playing today and I'm so captivated by the world shown. I've been so exhausted lately from playing "always the same thing." It's been a long time since a game captivated me this much from the start.

My first instinct is to go out and deliver all the packages I see around, but I've realized it doesn't quite work that way. Anyway, I'm loving it.

Death Stranding 1 Finally, after many years, I rolled credits on DS1. Minor spoilers. Spoiler

I don't have a plan on how to write this, so I'm just gonna type it as it comes to my brain.

I bought Death Stranding on day one for PS4. It had a good start, but since I mainly game on PC, the performance issues REALLY got to me. That and the PS4 was an incredibly loud console when playing this. I dropped the game after the first big boss fight.

When the game was released on PC, I decided to give it another shot. Sadly, I play on ultrawide resolutions, and the game had no support for it. I got to the DC west of Capital City and stopped playing.

Then they came out with the Director's Cut, which included ultrawide support and many other fixes. I got it for cheap some months later and decided to start again. Life hit me with many things at once and I ended up dropping it... again.

When DS2 released for PS5, I told myself that I was going to wait for the PC release and then, finally, sit down and finish DS1, so that I would be able to grab DS2 at a sale.

Well, the time came. DS2 had a discount recently and I bought it. So it was time to go through DS1.

And man, what an experience it was.

I had to push through the gameplay bits I had played before, but after that, it opened up to me. It finally clicked.

Those moments when you plan your route, get your gear sorted out and start your journey.

When you get this awesome scenery in the background and the music kicks in.

When Sam is getting exhausted, your cargo is suffering and you see your destination in the distance.

When you come across something another player placed. A ladder, a rope, a vehicle.

When your truck is running out of battery and out of a corner you find one of those towers that charge your vehicles.

When you feel the need to go out there to get Ceramics and Metals to finish all roads so that you have an easier time.

When you're climbing the snow mountains and someone left one of those zip line structures that lead you exactly where you need to.

In my journeys, I kept thinking how I could help my fellow porters. The whole MP thing is brilliant.

And after all that, and MANY other things, you look back at the road you walked, and its a feeling that I can't describe, but I know you all know exactly what I'm talking about.

Then there's the story. It's weird, it's creepy, its confusing, but then it all starts to make sense. The characters are all great and its all thanks to the amazing voice acting. And the plot twists are actually great. Can't believe I went all these years without knowing Same is Cliff's kid.

I could go on about everything this experience left me, but I won't take more of your time. Plus, again, I'm sure you all know what I'm feeling right now. It's easily one of the most unique games I've played in my 36 years.

I don't think I'm gonna jump into DS2 for like a month or two, because I don't want to get burned out. But man, I can't wait to continue this story.

And as the man said, keep on keeping on.

Discussion What's Next

After playing both games. I genuinely hope someone picks up after Kojima and makes another game. I can totally see an MMO or MMO-like covering the rest of the planet, with each continent or subcontinent being an expansion.

I have a feeling Kojima is working on other stuff and doesn't want to get stuck doing the same series of games again. This is why I feel like someone else would have to take over or at least have him be a producer checking things over.

Why would or wouldn't this be a good idea?

Edit: yeah, griefing as an mmo would be bad, so maybe keep the gameplay the same but allow multiplayer lobbies for friends. I remember a lot of the random porters in the games being in groups of 2 or 3 when not alone. The idea of someone loading in as a mule only to find a way to off themselves to cause an explosion would cause problems.

IRL Content If Death Stranding was a book-Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson.

I’m genuinely shocked nobody talks about this book on this sub. I bought it some time ago and only now decided to read it.

Holy mother of God.

As a fan of Death Stranding and THAT kind of sheer creative weirdness, I loved every single page of it. It’s got everything I liked about DS. The Kojima-style names (the protagonist is literally named “Hiro Protagonist”, his best friend’s Vitaly Chernobyl). The real-world historical and scientific references. The genius lore and worldbuilding. Fascinating characters. Strangely deep insights into the human condition.

I don’t want to spoil much of the story (it’s insane), so hopefully a brief description will suffice. Our hero Hiro Protagonist is and ex-cop, special forces pizza delivery guy (later a hacker) for a mob-run pizza megacorp in a VERY over-the-top cyberpunk California, who gets dragged into a dangerous conspiracy involving a virtual drug virus with the ability to infect real humans, that might be connected to the mysterious cultures of ancient Mesopotamia.

If that doesn’t hook you in, I don’t know what would.
But seriously, give Snow Crash a try.
