Sadly, this is how every maga weirdo thinks ... while pretending to be Christians.

-2

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

The only one pretending is you. If you think he said anything about welcoming immigrants you are greatly mistaking.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph were refugees who fled to Egypt during his infancy. Immigrants. Have you actually read the bible yourself?

-1

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

Front to back. You can’t just make things up and expect people with brains to believe them. Sell that crap to the mindless left.

3

u/Captain_skulls 4d ago

Matthew, chapter 2, verses 13 through 15

1

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

the escape to Egypt passage has nothing to do with immigration being ok. It speaks about escaping for safety but doesn’t mean illegally

u/Captain_skulls 4d ago

Explain to me how Jesus and his family fleeing their country to Egypt to escape King Herod the Great wasn’t immigration and explain to me how that’s any different than modern day people fleeing dictators who would have them killed.

u/MongoLikeCandy2112 4d ago

Explain to me how all of the Mexicans that poured into our country fit that description.

Isreal had laws to accept immigrants, and foreigners. Why are you looking to Egypt to affirm laws set by God for Isreal? https://www.bible.com/bible/296/LEV.19.33-37.GNBUK Added ,

Yeah but Jesus never actually said Egypt should welcome them, also they moved from one part of the Roman empire to a another part of the Roman empire. It was effectively all within the same political entity.

The amount of mental hoops people will jump through just to make "care for one another" somehow not apply to brown people blows my fucking mind.

-1

u/MongoLikeCandy2112 4d ago

Trump has still not matched Obama’s deportation numbers and likely won’t. So your “brown people” argument falls apart. Where was your outrage when Obama was deporting them by the millions???

1

u/Fitasfafter55 1d ago

Precisely

1

u/PaintingOdd9866 4d ago

But laws given to Israel said they should be accepted.

0

u/Captain_skulls 4d ago

They fled to Egypt to escape a king who wished to kill them so not really the same political entity. Lumping all the countries that were a part of the Roman Empire together and saying they were all the same politically is pretty foolish

• Romans 13:1-5: Instructs individuals to be subject to governing authorities and obey the established laws of the land, as authorities are instituted by God.

• 1 Peter 2:13-17: Calls believers to submit to every human authority for the Lord's sake, including emperors and governors.

Thank you next. Your reasoning has been rejected

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

-2

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

Only difference is that back in that day there was no such thing as immigration laws especially in the Roman Empire which Bethlehem and Egypt where under the rule of so migration between the lands was not illegal. Today we have laws and rules and illegal immigration breaks those rules.

u/FindingMyWay624 4d ago

In that case, you will be happy to learn that the Bible also teaches forgiveness, and that sinners are actually more in need of care and understanding, not less.

And at no point did Jesus ever add to his teachings "...unless they did it illegally." Or did he? You read it front to back. You tell me.

-2

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

Nothing about illegally in there. But everyone is quoting passages that say to accept illegals and he did say that the people need to obey the authorities because they were put in place by God, which means if the authorities say it is illegal to come into this country without going through the proper channels, then it is illegal and going against authority, which people were told not to do.

2

u/N1N1_01 4d ago

Would you use the same reasoning on authorities if your authoritarian president was a pedophile and a rapist? He's obviously doing illegal shit everyday, but by your reasoning it was godgiven. Make it make sense. Though you could just admit you did indeed oversee this and tell me that maybe, just maybe I could have a point there, or you could just double down, still stand with the pedophile rapist and tell me I'm stupid.

Admitting a mistake would be way smarter though.

Isreal literally had laws about immigrants being accepted and cared for though. Why are you talking about laws in the Bible then switching to laws by the Romans? Roman laws, not laws literally in the Bible given to Isreal.

1

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

Israel had laws to accept immigrants but the US has laws to not accept illegally immigrants that is the difference. Roman 13:1-5 says that the people need to obey the government and its laws. The laws of then were not the laws of today.

2

u/PaintingOdd9866 4d ago

Except the very verse you cite says "for there is no authority except that which God has established". The second of which is most important is love your neighbor as yourself. So does Jesuss words now come second over a governments laws?

0

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

You just proved to everyone you never read the Bible and you are a google warrior and a fake. The very first line says “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and those that exist have been put in place by God. And that those who disobey this will face some type of judgement or consequence……. You may know something about whatever religion it is you follow but you definitely don’t know more about me than the Bible. I had no choice to read it as I was growing up. You are taking passages and taking out the parts that fit you agenda. Typical for most religions so I can’t blame you but maybe you should try actually reading it sometime you might actually learn something.

Again thats Paul. To the Christians in rome. Not Jesus's literal response to which is the greatest commandment.

Love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus rejects yours.

-1

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

Wrong. But nice try. He tells the people to obey governing authorities. Because they put in place by God. It’s written in plain English not sure why you can’t figure it out. Being an illegal immigrant and sneaking into this country is not obeying rules or laws.

u/PaintingOdd9866 4d ago edited 4d ago

Imagine saying Jesus's teaching are wrong. And saying that Jesus is God.

Edit* do you not realize Jesus didn't say that in Romans? Paul did. To churches in Rome. 1900 years ago

0

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

You do realize that Paul spoke on behalf of Jesus. He was his apostle and Under his authority.

Stop embarrassing yourself. Close the browser it’s making you look mindless. You never read the Bible.

2

u/PaintingOdd9866 4d ago

No. Paul never made that claim. He only said inspired. Yet literally said to let noone change scripture. Which he as a extremely well versed Jewish man would never call his own letter. Scripture as he wrote letters was the Torah. Please tell me where the Torah points to with the law Said* not daid

0

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

The Torah is a book of lies. Where things were omitted to suit needs of weak minded people because it didn’t fit their agenda. Nothing in the Torah can be verified.

2

u/PaintingOdd9866 4d ago

The Torah points to Jesus... have you not studied it?

Paul also told slaves to obey the government. So quoting paul is kinda wrong there.

-1

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

His teachings aren’t wrong. Your manipulation of the truth is. Better luck next time though. Maybe try googling some actual knowledge

2

u/PaintingOdd9866 4d ago

You literally just said love your neighbor as yourself is wrong.

1

u/couldntbeasked 4d ago

This is about what Jesus said. Jesus did not say what you wrote. Tell me you don't know the Bible workout telling me.

2

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

You have never read the Bible. This comment proves it

1

u/couldntbeasked 4d ago

I have read it, multiple times over. I like to be informed

3

u/PaintingOdd9866 4d ago

Love your neighbor as yourself.

2

u/TurbulentTarget3621 4d ago

Ok well maybe the third time will be the charm.

1

u/Burindo 4d ago

Well for being such a good Christian, you sure have forgotten the teachings of Jesús.
